I remember buying this console from Asda for 150 a few months after release. Console has aged well I suppose.

At one point Asda stopped stocking Wii U so maybe that is why you got it cheap?

Good price but small memory will fill up in no time resorting in spending more cash on a hard drive.

Great console and great games, tired online features however. But great fun.

Hope you had a nice Christmas Turks, and thanks for all the deals you've posted this past year

The Last of Us.

Xbone and PS4 are lobbing pounds off and bundling themselves with silly number of games. Wii U is shaving a tad off here and there. It needs to go further to compete and avoid being left even further behind.

I guess the Wii U is like half the price though so that will be a reason for less price drops.

I don't think Nintendo recommend using them and say you should use a hard drive intead if you read their support.

I guess the price is pretty much at the floor now (when you factor in VAT/retail margin etc). Even for this price i'd like to see 2-3 games thrown in. Yes, that would mean Nintendo are practically giving the machine away but they have to do something in order to give it the legs it needs to survive another 2yrs. At this point, anyone who wants a Wii U already has one and you'll see the recent MK8 and SB releases sold a lot of copies but didnt fire up the hardware sales. That war chest must be running dry and I'd hate to see them go the way of Atari.

I'm also told to eject the USB via mouse clicks before removing it from my pc. Never had an issue ;)

At the end of the last financial year they had 4.5 billion quid in the bank with no debt and about 6 billion in other assets-plants etc. Theyll be alright.

True story: days before it was due in, I once removed a USB flash drive with a ton of college work without doing the "remove flash drive option". Imagine my horror when I plugged it into another PC - only to find the memory stick was completely corrupted as a result.

Seriously though, most people suggest external HDD's because they have better load speeds. Pretty sure a class 10 SD card doesn't really compare with some better HDD's, it does really matter. My Drive needs to use 2 USB slots via Y cable otherwise games running on the drive will just pause or crash due to a lack of speed.

They recommend not using sd cards because they lose data over an amount of time. Had a usb in my Playstation for years with no problems pal.

The 32GB fills up pretty fast too

If you use physical games then 32GB should be more than enough unless you purchase digital titles too.

You can only use SD Card on the Wii U for games like Super Smash Bros. and nothing else. However, to store games/data of Wii U it needs to be an HDD or a USB stick, but Nintendo recommends external HDD instead.

You put the sd card in a USB adapter so it acts like a flash drive, don't put the sd card in the sd slot.
I've had mine ages with a 32gb usb drive in the back and it's nowhere near full and I have windwaker hd, monster hunter, wii fit u and a tonne of nes/snes/n64 games on it.
Also a bonus that I got mine for £120 from the blockbuster fire sale.

The Wii U is ticking along ok. Yeah it's never going to get close to Wii numbers, or even Xbone/PS4, but it will probably end up doing decent Gamecube-esque figures. It's certainly not going to send Nintendo bust.

If you plan on downloading games and using the eShop get a cheap HDD. If you just want to save games a decent USB is fine.

Agreed, if you are downloading games neither the 8GB or 32GB will suffice.
