Also - if people want to simply pick it up from a real shop rather than have it delivered then Argos could be a better option.

Cold from me as it isn't the cheapest, simple. Informing people of a more expensive price isn't a 'deal'. Maybe these sort of posts should be in misc.

It is a "deal". It may not be the best "deal" but nevertheless it is a "deal" compared to the price of some other retailers.

Not the best price it has been, but not a bad price. Still think this is the worst possible day to release a game!

It's online only deal, you can't reserve in store for collection or get it in store at this price

Heat added, thanks op. Looking forward to this game. :)

It's kinda hard having a deal for Captain Toad when the best ones already ran out (Amazon and TGC) so now we're left with the normal prices (it probably will increase to the standard £30 though).

Won't beat that sweet £25 Amazon deal

keep in mind it's only a 6 hour game

That would depend upon the competency of the user though. If anything like the levels on 3D World there is replay value in finding all the treasure / better time no?

those were big levels with loads of secrets. this is just 70 little puzzles. you could spend 10 times longer on 3d world

Should have this soon if pressure put on Amazon to ship early - I lumped on the £25 deal too! I'll report back my findings then Paul.

This is the second topic I've seen today with people being right dicks - moaning about the deal when they themselves have no deals to their name.

Seriously, no one cares whether you think the deal is good or not, just vote cold and move on if you think it's crap.

I for one appreciate the alternative options and would gladly pay another quid if it meant picking it up from a shop directly - instead of waiting.

If you're looking for this game to pick up and you live near a Smyths Toys, they are currently showing in stock at some branches (but not all) at £29.99 for 'Click & Collect' (online orders still shows 2nd Jan though). >>Smyths Link here<<;)

Yeah, this is really annoying. £28.99 is for the "Pre-order" which will be dispatched for the 9th January, but £35 for collection in store. Doesn't seem like they should be allowed to do that. When I collect it tomorrow, I'm going to question the price.

Will probably be at store manager's discretion whether they decide to match the online price rather than any official change.
#23
They most likely won't. It is marked as an "Online Exclusive" and terms state that prices in store may be higher [a bit like what GAME does...]
#24
Charged the £34.99, had a money off voucher so got it a tad cheaper. Still a pain that its not the same as the 'Online Exclusive' price but i needed it for Christmas (Planned on getting it for Wife & Daughter but saw it had Jan 2015 release and took it off the list) so just took the extra few quid hit and got it.

Anyone's turned up yet? I ordered Friday, nothing as yet...

Belated xmas present order from Zavvi for me arrived today, it's such a damn cute game....one of those games equally delightful to play whether a kid or a Nintendo kid at heart...not too taxing puzzling at its best.
