You're gonna get smashed Mate.
I love my Wii U, but I got it 12months ago with 8 games, including both of these, for £200.

It might even be the best price at the moment, but it's not a bargain - and it's only getting older.

Great system, but I wouldn't pay £250 for it now.

I ordered a Wii U off Amazon on Friday. I paid £270 with just Mario, this looks like a better deal. Unless anyone knows anywhere cheaper? Ive just requested a return back to Amazon. Seen the mario game from Very for £16.99 so mine works out dearer than this. (I have added heat)

£270? Mental :D

If you're not bothered about Splatoon, it's £229 at Shopto

Cant belive the price of the wii u now. My son wants one for xmas and the prices are extortionate especially as the hardware costs next to nothing now and you can get a ps4 or xbone for a lot less

You're 4 years late to the party that's why, hardly anywhere really stocks them anymore, NX is around the corner, so prices are high

I know! I bought it thinking it included Mario and the new Luigi but they both came on the same disc. Bought it knowing it was dearer because my son is Mario mad :( Didnt think of checking the price of the games beforehand. They have said i can return it for a full refund (losing £10.50 postage :( ) My own fault....

Thank you :) Will have a look on there :)

Shocking price, I don't think there are any good deals on the console whatsoever right now.

When the NX reveal happens and that costs about the same as this deal or maybe less, it will put crazy deals like this into better context.

If you can get the console for less than £200 you're doing well right now, which is insane. Wait for a better deal I say. So many cheap selects games make it worth owning even for people late to the party ;)

Given that the NX isn't going to be about high specs, there seems a really decent chance of the starting RRP being £200 or less which makes prices like this look silly.

Haven't had a Nintendo system in a while and fancied getting this or a 3DS assuming they'd be quite cheap. Shocked at just how high the prices are.

Going to wait to see what the NX is about as, being a home/portable hybrid, it could act as a replacement for both the Wii U and the 3DS

The NX or whatever Nintendo's next home console is going to be called will probably cost just as much if not more, £50 more let's say. Not a good deal for a console that's pretty much in dead water.

There's Paper Mario: Colour Splash (kind of "Sticker Star 2") coming out though it looks such an uninspired and uncreative game that I'll just stick to Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door and Super Paper Mario. I really wanted to get into the spirit of supporting the new Paper Mario but Nintendo made that impossible for me.

Anyhow, looking forward to Zelda:BotW and it's paid (only paid £30 via Amazon :)) for so I've just gotta wait for it to arrive.

Wait for the next home console of Nintendo to be out and then it'll be £50 with the GamePad, you can get for £50ish without the GamePad on eBay but that's not advisable because it's pretty much required to use.

A replacement Wii U is only good if you already own a GamePad (of the same region) or for offline hacking purposes (vWii, GameCube, Wii U ISOs).

I am hoping for a BOTW bundle at launch really. It's a definite purchase for me. They will have to drop the Wii U price hugely when the NX is launching, because if they are even close in price, people are going to apply your logic and just buy the NX...

At this point I don't think they're too bothered about Wii U sales as, unlike the 3DS, there's basically zero games coming out next year. I guess dropping the price of a console that has no games being released might make sense but since they haven't bothered even this late in the day they might just leave it at it is. I guess they might not want to encourage people to buy a Wii U to then find out it's completely redundant - it feels bad enough having bought one a couple of years ago! ;)

As far as this deal goes, it's clearly not good. If you don't mind buying 2nd hand (which the person buying it as a gift might not want to consider), you should be able to get a boxed 32gb model with a few games for around £150 on Gumtree (there's about 3 people selling Wii U bundles near me at the moment). Considering you can now buy many of the better Wii U games via the Selects range for around £15, & should be able to pick up Mario Kart 8 & Splatoon fairly cheap 2nd hand, then you would be crazy to spend £250 on one. Unless it's a present for a kid, of course, but even then you can spend the extra £100 you saved on games.

Crazy price.

The Wii U always sells well just before Xmas. Even this year so near to the end of its life I really can't see any great offers being available. If your kid wants one then people are just gonna have to suck it up really and pay the going rate.

NB: If you use the code here:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/vouchers/save-25-when-spend-150-with-ecoupon-tesco-direct-2512132?p=28774698

You get £25 knocked off and have it for £225.

Still quite a lot I know, but struggling to find it cheaper new at the moment.
