The Wii Console + £24.99 Game + 2 Wii Skins come to £199.95 but argos will give you a £10 gift voucher so in real terms the price comes to £189.95.

The console and the Skins will cost the same amount elsewhere, so the game is effectively for free.

Just been told that if yoy first buy two lots of £100 Argos vouchers, you will receive £20 additional vouchers for free.

Which makes this deal another £20 cheaper.

Just be aware that the Voucher offer ends on Tue 18th Sept.

imo john wait until nearer christmas better deals should come along.

I dissagree, I can't see nintendo dropping the price unless the console sales drop significantly.

cheapest you can get the console with just the wii sports game for 169.99

so as long as the game aint massivly over priced this seems like an good deal (remember its £199.99 cos you get a voucher off your next purchase so unless your gona play silly beggers and take it back then buy it again useing the voucher your gonna pay £200 then get a saving off another deal)

There is a feeling that Nintendo are struggling to keep up with demand worldwide, and the demand will only get worse in run up to xmas.

So, if any thing, the prices are likely to go up.

Alternatively, the price may stay around £180 for the console but you will be hard pushed to find many in the shops. As was the case when it was launched.

okay fair enough i have read your comments and understand your points.
And as revision i would say if you did really want one for xmas then go for it as no doubt it is a good deal right now.

but do you believe that nintendo will still be unable to keep up with demand this dexcember do you not think they may have learnt from lasts year?? they would be losing out and i would be surprised if they weren't able to meet demand this december. and if they do manage to,then no doubt retailers will have bundle deals etc.
but i am only presuming, i have on facts on supply or demand figures etc so cant be sure!

a price cut? unlikely
better deals? i would think so

Anyone waiting till Christmas to pick one of these up as a present is going to be in for a surprise.

They are going to impossible to find just like last year which will continue well into Easter. Theres about a dozen Wii Games I'm desperate to buy from now till February.

Hottest gift along with the DS this "holiday season".

A better way to do this would be, buy £200 of Argos vouchers in 2 £100 transactions. You would then get 2 X £10 FREE vouchers (they expire on Dec 24th) (Don't know how long the free vouchers offer is on though) Then go and buy the console etc with the vouchers and get another FREE £10 voucher. Unless you are going to spend the free vouchers before Dec 24th use them to to buy the console as the vouchers you buy to get the free ones last for a couple for years at least.

So you spend £200 getting the console and end up with £30 FREE vouchers to spend on whatever you like.

When Argos have this deal on we usually a few £100 of vouchers just to get free ones :giggle: There is always something we want from Argos so the money isn't wasted.

If you are going to do this too always buy the vouchers in seperate transactions. They will give you £10 for spending £100 and £5 for spending £50. Seperate the transactions, don't buy say £300 in one transaction as you will only get £10.
Sorry to waffle at the end there but its a quick way to make a few £££.

'9. Excludes the purchase of gift vouchers using gift vouchers as a method of payment.'

you could do this in the past, but argos have now changed the T & C's

What a great idea. didn't think of it before.

That's makes the console for £169.95 with a £25 game and £10 skins thrown in for free.

Yes, its working right now. We bought £200 in vouchers today in 2 seperate transactions and got £20 for free.

Not sure how long the offer is on for though but Argos do it every so often.
I think the last time was in May. We bought £1000 of vouchers and got £100 free.

Not really. You spend £200 on vouchers and get £30 of vouchers. The Wii costs you the £200 and you spend £30 on a game.

So really the offer is the Wii + Wii Sports + one other game for £200.

Statto, you have got it wrong mate.

For £200 you will get the whole package, but you will still have £30 vouchers sitting in your pocket after all that.

This seems like a good deal. So did you get Wii (including Wii sport), and Wii play? Or Wii play AND another game?

Do Virgin do student discount on consoles?

I don't think they should be giving vouchers away on voucher purchases - this has been said the last time Argos did this offer and sometimes staff who don't know the small print give them out but they're not meant to.

What's to stop you buying more vouchers with your vouchers until you have a whole pile of them?
#21
tried it day, they wont allow it.
only get the vouchers wen u buy something, even the woman on till said it wernt fair:-(
#22
Thank you I managed to get one this afternoon, I had to travel to get it as some Argos shops have sold out but it was worth it.

And as "Wii Sports" comes free with the console anyway, you are just spending £30 on another title.

Try here for comparable bundle deals:

I know that's a definate no no. That part of the small print is definately known to all staff. You can't use vouchers to buy vouchers.

Sorry welsh andy that you didn't get free vouchers when buying vouchers. We did and have done for the last 2 or 3 times this offer has been on. When we bought our vouchers on Saturday the lady on the till did say to my hubby that she wasn't sure if you can receive free vouchers when buying vouchers, she thought the free vouchers were on cash purchases only. She said she would see what the till said at the end of the transaction. Once hubby had paid the till gave her a message to give out the free vouchers.
I don't know what went wrong in the Argos you visited but ours was ok.
