Does anyone know of any good discount buys on a Eshop card? Best I can see is CDKeys £23.99 for a £25 card.
Cherried
must be a pricing error surely? if this was a real nintendo eshop "sale" sonic 2's rrp would have to be 49.99 and sale price = 39.99 :p

SEGA sets the prices on these games. Not Nintendo :p

Hi, You still need to collect the points on the site. If you go back to the mission you've completed for example Sign in to the eshop every week, you still have to go back to the site and click the collect points tab under the mission. You can get a lot of points without too much hassle if you sign up to the newsletter etc.
God, never knew that one... thanks... what an overly-complex procedure. Typical Nintendo.

cool, the voucher is available until 8am on the 1st of jan so still plenty of time to get it.

Excellent new IP from Nintendo
Can't see many kids liking this as it looks so old school 80's but heat for us adults :)

If I'm new to both, which is the one to get?
I've only played the first one so far but they're puzzle games so don't think either is necessarily better. I assume the 2nd one just has slightly different mechanics, but probably better to start with the first one.

Wonderful games for those who haven't played them, an absolute bargain!

I pretty sure ive seen physical copies cheaper tbh but if you want digital thats as cheap as I seen it.
Worth noting that after chapter 6 you have to decide which side to ally with and unlocking any further campaigns costs extra (i.e. if you choose Birthright you will have to buy the add-ons for Conquest and Revelations). Good and lengthy game anyway, but I'd go for the physical copy personally.

Yes they have, but that's just the market as a whole, Sony and MS have been doing it too.
Mario avatar, honestly it's so much cheaper buying Xbone, PS4 and PC games.
Nintendo fleece you and I'd rather play games than they be collectors items.
No its not Hippy Flower avatar, loads of existing Nintendo console games can be got cheap. I am guessing from your comments you are focused on digital. The digital games which are mainly obtained from Nintendo direct, yes they are expensive for what they are.
Steam, PS4 and XO tend to have much better digital deals than Nintendo ever does.

To get gold coins you gotta spend money on the eShop and that ain't cheap. I miss Club Nintendo which allowed to redeem points from physical games.
Anyway, 'nyone that wanted the MK8 DLC(s) already bought them (there's free ones too).

Yeah this new scheme was supposed to be better. My ass. I have a mushroom statue from the star points and a question mark block coaster. What's our replacement? Lame themes and discounts that should just be sales like every other shop on the planet?
i miss the old club nintendo. nothing worth having really atm and barely anything previously. It's a mistake not offering physical items anymore ninty,

Is it just me but I've find this game just doesn't randomise the tracks very well and certain tracks keep coming up all the time. I've got both expansions too.
Spot on mate, I've gone back to original levels during online play because of said bias. Although similar bias exists on the original pack!

Totally agree. They have only started to give out platinum points with phsyical hardware/software and the best they can buy you is Zelda Picross or 3ds themes. Seems unfair to those true collectors who spend loads on limited editions and the like. To think how much cool exclusive items with I got with Nintendo stars , SNES wii controllers, 3ds mario case, Link figures etc. Its just pathetic now

Nintendos N64 emulation on Wii U is notoriously bad just Google it the games look like they have a dark tint all over the screen and the graphics look wrong/crap let alone performance issues this is widespread on many a forum i personally wouldn't touch any N64 game for these reasons.

Edited By: GQ Man on Nov 07, 2016 17:05: .

9 quid though geez
When Mario Kart 64 was released on Eshop at that price, it got plenty heat. Interesting.

For the cube version, this would have been a bit steep, but for the SNES one? 9 quid?
It's the N64 game, though I do appreciate the confusion. Nintendo's product description is abysmal.

Just read it again, my apologies, it does say the successor to the snes classic. That being the case............

Cheers for the reply jsty3105 - the discount has been applied now.
I originally thought you were making some biting commentary on the "lack" of discounts on many of these games.
Blame the various publishers and developers ;p Nintendo only sets the price on it's own published software
And they still do a terrible job at that too.
I don't dispute that.

Just highlighting that the ire here is kinda misdirected. There are a couple of valid complaints about sale prices of the Nintendo published titles. The rest? Shooting at the wrong target.

I'm not sure the Nintendo community is as well versed in shop-region-hopping as our MS and Sony brethren. If you don't already live in the US / Canada, what do you do here? Change the region of your Wii U to the desired country, restart, then create a new NNID that's also based in that region, access the eShop to buy the game, download it, change your region back, restart and then log back in as your original NNID, all the while ignoring all of the warnings that pop up?
Any restrictions on accessing the title after you change the console region back?
I had a go at this once with DLC for Injustice : Gods Among Us (it's not available at all in Ireland) but fecked if I'm paying that amount just to play as Lobo; So I have no idea if it works.
The only way that I can think of, is if you owned a Kiosk Wii U otherwise you can't. Maybe a Dev unit might have the feature too but I'm just aware that the Kiosk units have.
This isn't hotcanadianmynintedocoinsbonusdeals
You can't access US/CA from a PAL console because it's region locked by continent.
What a stupid listing for a .co.uk site. These games are complete and utter garbage. All they're good for is the 25 gold coins on My Nintendo but it's a hassle to get them and most people wouldn't be clued in on how to get them. It requires setting up a new NNID all for just these coins? It's not worth the effort.

Worse than the actual game. I find myself firing paint but nothing comes out. Sometimes the paint never arrives.
Details of post are all wrong though. I justed downloaded testfire and it's already running and will go until 1/09.

First game, quick entry and no japanese players1!!??? Highest score ever! Excellent accuracy and I really thought this was how the game was supposed to be.

However second game, lag and got disconnected which has never happened before.

Any way, game away. Wii U so disappointing will probably sell up after testfire is over.

It's even worse than I first thought. More lag or just slow to update what's on screen. This is a problem with the game in general, especially when high Japanese pecentage, at least for me. Occasionally, have a perfect game against japanese.

Just put protective bubble around myself then got shot through it and killed. Very slow updating on screen!

Let me know if it's the same for any of you.

Hands down one of the most frustrating games of all time.
Lag against Japanese players.
Lag.
Lag.
Hits that fail to register.
Limited level rotations. Imagine playing the SAME level 5 times in a row.
4v3 handicap matches are either pathetic drubbings or takes the shine off a win.
No communication, imagine your goal is to get a device to the enemy base and 1 of your team is off rollering far corners of the level!
FTR, I had to replace my gamepad because of this game.
Only Mario Kart Snes was more frustrating than Splatoon.
There's a gem in Splatoon... underneath a mountain of flaws.
It's fair to say I hate this game.
Completely agree. It's a good first attempt but hugely frustrating. Haven't played it in months and have no interest in the sequel unless they fix those issues.
Wii U feels like a beta HD Nintendo console for Nintendo so it's possible that they're just figuring out how it all works when they finally settle down with the next home console that won't be a log of turds.
from the past few years.
It came out last year.

Yeah they get sooo addictive and it's like you feel you get inside the character themselves! Still not completed dual destinies yet. Was waiting for them to bloody port over Apollo Justice haha

Thanks for the heads up on this. Played the Dual Destinites demo last night to figure out if I would enjoy the Ace Attorney series. Now considering buying the Phoenix Wright Trilogy.
I have one question. Can you control the games in the original trilogy with the buttons and d-pad, like you can in Dual Destinies? Would prefer this to using the touchscreen.

Yeah you can. Can't remember if you can use the dpad but you can use the buttons.

I prefer using the touch screen because I feel that I'm going to wear out the buttons as you have to keep pressing them!

You can press and hold the touch screen for fast forwarding the text

worth noting is that there's a £3.99 DLC chapter available for Dual Destinies. this kind of thing matters if you're an **** completest, like me :{
Thanks for mentioning it... I bought Dual Destinies months ago and never knew this o.O Well I have only played the trilogy so far so I haven't started it up yet, I guess that's why I didn't notice.
I know these games have been on sale a lot but they really are good if you like mystery dramas. It's such a shame they still haven't put the 4th one on the digital store to complete the collection (of main games), I ended up having to watch it on youtube.

sales of the games in the series have never been good in Europe & America, hence why the two recent title have been download only and then ported over to iOS.

Mario Kart 64 Wii U Virtual Console - £1.79 Nintendo

15
Just browsing the Wii U virtual console and found this for £1.79! It isn't listed in the special offers page and it's the only N64 title to be discounted so don't know what's going on with it and not

If it was £1.79 then that'd be great but since they demand £8.99 then I'll stick to playing it on my N64.
The problem I have with this is that all my n64 pads are knackered! I can't find any reasonably priced used ones to replace the old.
If it's the C Sticks that are knackered you can replace or repair them very cheaply... ebay or google for it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stick-Joystick-Repair-Parts-Replacement-for-Nintendo-64-N64-Controller-/331415131272?hash=item4d29e19488:g:K4kAAOSw2XFUjTDH
Thanks, but it is the central analogue stick. They are very old, and have seen a lot of use. Might just bite the bullet and pick up some genuine ones at a local game shop.
I think that's what MadeinBeats means to refer to by "C Sticks", especially given the eBay link - the N64 controller only has one analogue stick, after all!

Same! Same logic with Mario 64 as well, although that was available for £4-£5 until August 1st using My Nintendo coins...

Buy one that's Superpad 64. Hori 64 are pretty expensive but great too.

Crazo Classic Wired Controller Gamepad Joystick Joypad for Nintendo 64 N64 Video Games
If those are anything like the brandless GC controllers then chances are the analogue stick becomes loose very quickly.

Thanks for the info OP, heat! I only wish the Paper Mario series was still as good as it used to be :(

I really hope due care and attention goes into the new console.
That's is the one thing I am not concerned about. If anything I think there is a danger with the NX when Mario Kart 9 aka Mario Kart Maker with level editor comes out, that the PS and XB boys will shift over and Nintendo will become a bit more mainstream once again and have massive consumer numbers. I quite like it the way it is now, with its little focused market.
I don't think there is any danger of that unless they have proper third party support. So doubtless you'll be quite safe I think :)

For once were in agreement ;) I dont think its the nations favourite console though, sales dont support the comment. But, of the new generation it is the better console in terms of exclusive titles and titles that make it worth the purchase.

Ps4 and Xbone are pretty much interchangable currently, same old titles - none of which I would buy either for. Theres no 'The Last of Us' level head turner games yet on either and far too many HD shovelware remasters.

Sticker Star is actually quite tough, even if you cheat and use online walk throughs. I haven't bothered with this new MyAccount rewards crap, its just so bad, I'd rather just not waste time with it. RIP Club Nintendo - that was excellent and summed everything Nintendo was about (or used to be about).
I was starting to wonder if I was the only who thought this, but...
Think we are in the minority, not much chance of a boycott is there? Looks like were stuck with the MyAccount crap.
I don't think there is anything wrong with StickerStar as a game, though it certainly is difficult. Whatever the age rating, it is not one for wee kids, my 6yr old got well cheesed off with it.
It's a really strange decision though to replace something so unique and well liked with something so pathetic.

I really hope due care and attention goes into the new console.

stop whingeing about the price, what's the game like? Will I get bored half way through like the other link games?
Nice find? No, not a deal at all, merely the usual overprice for Nintendo back catalogue emulations...
nice find op
£8.99 for a ROM? what a rip off.cold

Somebody said there is swearing in this game. Can anybody confirm, don't want to buy it for my 8 year old in case it's not suitable.
Bad language - Legend of Kay Anniversary
Thanks for that, I'll give it a miss. Why on earth put the B word in a kid's game?

Has a 12 rating also. Would not let my 7yr old near this game.
"Download size

6366.43 MB"

According to Nintendo (under 'information' section) on the main link for the deal.
I think it's about 2GB.
Is it a big download size?.
stuartjohnwhitehead
Nintendo dont do 'sales'.
Notice how no real titles are in the sale - Mario 3D World, Splatoon etc. Just the trash, that nobody really wants.
Waste of time! Freezing cold peach nipples added :{
Child of Light is on "sale" for around £5 even though back in 2014-15 it was £3 or 4 tops. These discounted prices are very disappointing.
