Released in September 1991, Nirvana's sophomore album and major label debut elevated Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl from a critically acclaimed Aberdeen, Washington, cult band to generational spokesmen who'd unwittingly created a cultural shift and musical touchstone. Rising to No. 1 the world over and ultimately selling over 30 million copies worldwide, Nevermind would come to be much more than one of the most successful and influential albums of its or any era.
As the album that returned unaffected rock ’n’ roll integrity and passion to the top of the charts, Nevermind would prove a singular inspiration to fans and musicians alike over the last two decades--and will undoubtedly do so for generations to come.
This 20th anniversary reissue of Nevermind sees the original album remastered.

I hate poor remasters Rolling Stones - Exile on Main St. (2010 remaster) is awful - I had to seek out the far superior Bob Ludwig remaster
Nevermind is great - but I prefer PJ - Ten

To comment that it was trying to combine art pretensions with radio friendly commercialism is quite frankly retarted, how can you say it didn't work, as it obviously did!
Amazing album, turn your knob down a bit and enjoy the remaster, its not just about loudness.

I think anyone that possess such a dismal command of their own language as you is a better candidate for being labeled ‘retarted’. On what criteria can you say definitively ‘it obviously did’ work? I was clear that I was just giving my own view, and that I am perfectly aware many disagree. You cannot have a empirically corroborated answer to such a subjective query.

Excessive Loudness degrades the recording quality, most notably seen in some remasters/reissues.

Um, what?
Yes, that will be the same as the 1991 version, I don't believe it was ever officially reissued on CD until this 20th anniversary release.
