This seems a neat little smartwatch. The online reviews seem good - similar to the Samsung G2. Works on both Android and IOS. At this price I decided to buy.

Plenty of watches like this on Ebay for £8 + that only use built in apps and no app store.

the photo is from the GearBest site. The watch is clearly a Gear S2 ripoff. But at a fraction of the price. I thought it was worth a punt, to see what a Smartwatch is like without risking a load of dosh.

Item number for one of them please? This for £8 would surely be an impossible deal, I suspect you're referring to inferior watches.

4th GEN Bluetooth Smart Watch Phone Mate for Android Samsung HTC Sony iOS iPhone on ebay £8.49. Probably will be inferior but will do the same thing if your after a watch you cant actually download anything to but a lot cheaper or check out the U80 for £9.79. I apologise if I wasn't clear I said like this watch meaning smartwatches not this actual watch.

Looks a lot like the U8 that can be had from Gearbest for £6. There's a reason it's so cheap, it's terrible. This costs a bit more but in return it's a bit more functional and looks a bit better.

After some of the comments, I wondered if I'd made a bad choice. The cheap eBay ones look ****ing awful. This looks like the Samsung Gear S2. You can download different watch faces - the Gear S2 one. I'm looking forward to getting this. :)

Please post back when you receive it as I am quite tempted by this.

Happy to, but not sure where to post it. Would it go in this thread?

Here's some feedback. The G3 arrived within after 10 days.

The face didn't include the G2 one in the photo, but after going on YouTube, I downloaded it and it is now installed and looks exactly like the picture.

It was easy to pair with my S7. It's easy to make and receive calls from it. Tho when you access Contacts on the watch it only lists the first number if you have more than one assigned i.e. mobile, home, work, work mobile etc . same for texts, but you can use Google now to speak the text and send. Handy if your driving.

The alarm and stopwatch are normal. Calendar is basic. BT camera works, but only when you click on its rather than Android on my S7! Haven't tried Voice memo or music. Pedometer seems basic.

I tried the heart rate monitor and body temperature. Seemed reasonable. Then I checked these on a wine cooler straight from the freezer. Guess what? My wine cooler is alive! It has a heart rate of 96bpm and body temperature of 36.9c.

Overall it seems like a Casio that can make and receive calls and texts. It also looks reasonable on the wrist. Compared to reviews of the the leading brands, this seems excellent value and a great low value introduction to the world of smartwatches. :D

Thanks for the review. Sounds decent value, the only thing putting me off is that I read the battery cant be replaced

Hi d1gger, what software are you pairing with? I am using fundo but it keeps crashing, and the others will not download from play store.

I'm using Fundo. It's very basic. The Yahoo weather app is the only app on fundo and it doesn't work. It can't find London! If you're looking to use apps on this, I wouldn't bother. It's just like a casio that can make/receive calls & texts. But watches are too small to use apps on and who would seriously listen to music on their watch.
