Has been an interesting launch for the game, thankfully I'm old enough to not buy into the hype anymore so expected a lot of disappointed fans. Funniest video for it I've seen so far is

Interesting that this for Steam. I thought all 3rd party codes would be for GOG.

It must be said that there has been a ton of imagination and love put into the game. However, after putting nearly 10 hours into the game I can confirm that it's very very samey with constant collection of minerals to support your starship and personal safety. A classic sci fi experience it is..with so much more content needed to make it fulfilling. After all the wait I am quite sad to put my Limited Edition on for sale only a week after release

Garbage. £34 you'd have to be fairly silly. Hot deal compared to RRP but such a bad game from price to design.

Make it Free to play, with multiplayer and you might get my attention.

I haven't played it yet, but I have been following it extremely closely with hope of a potential purchase.

It seems, sadly, that Hello Games seem to have produced one of the most over hyped disappointments of the decade. And let's face it, that took some serious doing after Watch Dogs.

Still, in fairness to them, Joe Danger was kind of awesome.

Same here. I was going to treat myself to it fairly soon, but now I think I'll wait until Christmas to allow for some more content and stability.

I find it sad that this is now a standard response for games in 2016. I miss the days when we didn't depend on updates, DLC and season passes to further enjoy games.

I would wait for now, it's still not great performance wise and they need to add more gameplay to make it "worth it" IMO.

Shame really because I picked this up expecting more :(

Or the game is just a shambles with constant lies from the devs spun to make it look like it was overhyped when they indeed did lie.

As I said lowest price doesn't make it a deal as it is still **** regardless.

Yep read that this morning along with the source's from that over the past few days and agree with the majority.

My point is, I can almost guarantee that the 49,647 people currently playing via Steam would of loved to see this "none deal" post/thread to save themselves £6 (_;)

I'd forgotten just how much stuff was missing. I think it's a case of ambition being overtaken by time and resource restrictions. I'm still hoping that they actually implement some of these features in the next updates they've talked about, but I'm glad I didn't buy this at full price.

I refunded this on Steam. I'll pick it up again when the bugs are fixed and it's under £20.
#28
I had pre-ordered it for 46 pounds for the ps4, played it for 10 hours was so bored after that only found very ugly planets with nearly no life, the life that was there acted strange aswell very buggy i found. 90% of the trailers and stuff they showed us before the launch is not in the game. So i sold it after 5 days for 40 pound and have not regreted it maybe in half a year or a year once they actually add the content which was promised and shown in the trailers i will buy it again at very discounted price but now i would not spend a single cent on the game.

No doubt people will have wanted to save money, but I am wondering whether a big draw to spending £40 in the first place was the statement from the creator saying further content will be free.
After release, that creator then stated they regret saying it will be free. Unfortunately I feel HelloGames would have had some reputation intact if they had not tweeted inane ramblings that can be held as a promise

Although personally I enjoy the game to some extent (although not the "Trade", "Fight" aspects), I completely understand that people are complaining. There's so much bait and switch going on it would make Kingston's marketing team cringe.

Heat. I'm loving it so far. No major incidents for me couple of desktop crashes but thats it. Game saves everytime you do anything so no biggie.

Just mining, exploring, scanning, learning, trading, upgrading and a bit of shooting. I get lost in it for hours. It was exactly what I was expecting.

The inventory and crafting is a bit unnecessarily fiddly but I'm sure it'll improve over time.

I didn't get swept away with the hype. Frankly I always felt they were biting off more than they could chew. I did end up still buying it after the reviews/footage came out since I thought I'd enjoy just going to all the worlds at the very least, and I'm happy to say I did. It's not the best game in the world, but it's far from the worst, unlike many would have you believe. It's just a game that you can relax a bit and get lost in.

In terms of the PC port, I haven't had too much of an issue. After I disabled vertical sync and the fps cap in game, while enabling 16x AF and VSYNC/Triple Buffering through the Nvidia Control panel, I've been getting 50-60fps at 1440p on my 970 GTX.

I'm not entirely sure it's worth £34, I mean I've totally got my moneys worth but, many may not. That said If you're interested in it, this is the best deal you'll get.

The only bait and switch is the MP really. Besides that most of the comments they're referring to is videos from 2+ years ago. A lot changes in 2 years in development. You can think something is easily possible and then realise, oh **** we don't have time. Not saying it's right, but it's also not them maliciously lying.

After playing the game for ten hours or so I've been checking out other people's YouTube videos and Twitch streams and everyone else's games look better than mine :(
My planets have hardly any life and I can never find that last little bit of mineral. For example, I found a crashed ship and all I needed was 9 zinc. There was none of it about or anyone I could buy it off in the vicinity. In the end I had to get in my old ship and fly to the other side of the planet. Now I've got the zinc I need I can't find the crashed ship again :(:(:(

For a lot to change internally in 2 years is fine. What is not fine is to advertise a product and then 2 years later deliver an entirely inferior one, knowing full well that 2 year old footage and the impressions that it created are still around and readily available.

The interviews that state those promises were uploaded by other people, they don't just vanish. People aren't just going to delete them... It's very difficult to expunge things from the internet between people reuploading stuff, caching of pages, and so on.

The videos that are provided on the Steam page, other actual used advertisements, aren't that bad. Those aren't that deceptive. The animals may be a bit better looking to some of the stuff in the world, but that's the problem with random generation, some stuff looks fairly decent, other stuff looks horrific. The people doing the comparisons choose the horrific stuff to compare.

I think this sums up my thoughts better than I could put it - http://ungaming.tumblr.com/post/149102772520/i-tweeted-a-link-to-this-article-on-the-bus-about

Though there is a few things I do disagree about even with that write up, such as the MP stuff. I think that is totally inexcusable regardless.

But surely the way to keep that footage off the internet is not to create it in the first place. That promotional material didn't appear out of thin air. It was the product of Sony and Hello Games' collective marketing effort. They shouldn't have set user expectation until they knew they could actually deliver on it.

So your solution is for developers to just not talk until they know what they can deliver on?

Using that line of logic we wouldn't get footage until some months before release.

Don't promise what you can't deliver is the main point. They were asked time and time again about some aspects. Thieves
