Nice, one of the few times I've wished I had a Wii!

Damn! Bought it last month for £24.
Anyway, would highly recommend.
Don't get it: if you're expecting a cartoonish GTA clone.
Do get it: if you have any liking for Japanese culture in any way: anime, manga, games, music, clothing.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the blood was "added" to the US version just to please the Yank audience - so if you want to play the game as it was intended, you really need the European or Japanese version.

EDIT: Great price by the way! :)

just wondering, is the blood REALLY significant?

Yes it is, its weird when u kill the first assassin and there is no blood!!

I have never heard of simply games before are they an OK company?

Thanks

Yep, when you defeat the first boss he just stands there staggering about a bit - even though you've just been in a sword fight (In the US version he has no arms).

The pixie dust that replaces the blood is pathetic. Before I even learnt of the bloody version I thought it looked daft.

Good game, granted, but I feel like I've only bought half a game....

If you want this then get the Freeloader and play the US version, although it is mildly entertaining after you commit an assassination in the PAL version when the cleaners come out and mop up nothing.

The blood was indeed added to the game. The way the creater wanted it is the Pal/No blood way. He has said in numerous interviews that the game plays much better/swifter without the blood, and thats the reason he left it out.

so overall do you guys think i should buy this, or get the american version?

Would you prefer the directors cut of a movie or the one the studio changed to make it appeal to more teenagers?

i really really really dnt know man :(

I've got the PAL version, and the blood was just added to the US version. I can understand the reason for no blood: this is a game that knows it's a game. It doesn't try to go for "realism" the same way say, GTA 4 does. The town map is made of pixels, many sound effects are "8-bit" and your assassin ranking is shown on a scoreboard right out of a 1980s Shoot'em'up.

I've seen videos of the bloody US version, and I for one am glad I got the original artist's vision.

P.S. The first boss turns to a pile of ash on the ground, which is what they're "cleaning up".

Whilst it's possible that Suda intended for the game to be played without blood (and Killer 7 would be a testament to that) I still think that this game looks and plays better with it.

If the blood was just added to the US version, then why do some of the cutscenes in the PAL version not make any sense, & only makes sense when you've seen the US version? (Holly Summers death scene springs to mind)
Don't believe everything people say in an interview...I'm sure George Lucas ALWAYS intended from the very beginning that Greedo was to shoot 1st as well

Very good point. I remember the last thread here about this game as a deal and there were links to videos on youtube comparing the US and European versions. It was strange in the no blood version, e.g. one death scene had a woman put a grenade in her mouth, explodes and that's it. The US one makes better sense regardless of how much blood there is. Found it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmvwxYtd2ls
