Not sure of the details but it was in "Love It" the magazine so it should be ok! (i think).

Probably the deal has nothing to do with TheSun paper.. The site in OP doesnt belong to Sun.
#12
After a quick search on google for www.ukholidaysinthesun.co.uk it seems to be the site for the actual Sun paper, So sorry about that, Can anyone confirm though?

I take it loveit is a pullout for the Sun Newspaper???

Hi,

Can somebody please clarify what exactly does "based on 4 people sharing" mean????

Thanks in advance
#18
Based on 4 sharing normally means thats the minimum you will pay - i.e if you only take yourself and 1 other person you still have to pay for 4 ppl

Hi,

We will be a couple going; just worried if it means room sharing for 4 people???

Thanks

I just booked for the w/end package (3 nights) over the half term break at Greenacres Holiday Park, Snowdonia. Like that area so a good base from which to explore. Total cost = £38 for 2 adults & 2 kids, accomodation only (w/out linen). Phoned the holiday park and if I choose to take the fun passes which give access to all facilities (indoor pools, kids club, evening entertainment, etc) then it costs a further £20 per adult and £11 per child. So even with the passes it's a 3-night hol with lots of entertainment for £100. Would be nearly paying that in child-care and other expenses over that period, so a good deal IMO. (JATT -- T & C state that if less than 4 people you still pay £38, so not room sharing, just paying the cost of fully occupied room)

Good stuff! Yep, let's keep in touch through PMs.

Edit: don't know if you know the area, but we've just returned from a hotel holiday about 10 miles from the park. Really beautiful place; if you enjoy moutain scenery and white sandy beaches then this is the place!
#24
great i will look forward to it then, its around my little ones first birthday so hope it is like you say :D
#25
emucalfskin, Just noticed this at bootom of the park's page, linked to the promotion:

Service Charge £5.50 per unit per night.
Entertainment Plus passes £7 per person per break - Under 5s FREE.

If this is correct, then that works out cheaper than I expected. For the four of us, a total of £88 with the passes. Let's see, eh?
#26
not bad :D it will only be 54.50 for us then... not interested really in the passes with having a young baby... but still a bargain! less than £14 each :)

yes, our kids are 9 & 6 so the pool is a must. A bargain for both families then, as long as there are no hidden surprises.
#28
Typical, no weeks commencing 22nd Oct. Wonder if that has anything to do with half term holiday!!

I need a hand....

I wish to go away with my girlfriend for a nice queit chilled weekend on the 21st of september, ( everything else seems booked ). However one small line of detail messes things up

"8.These are family holidays and bookings cannot be accepted from parties where all persons are under the age of 21. All-male and all-female parties under the age of 25 cannot be accepted."

I am 20, my girlfriend is 20. I will be 21 in october and she will be 21 in november. Problem is we have been going out 1 year on the 21st of semtember and we had planned to go down south somewhere for the weekend to do something special.

Now this deal would be perfect however that small line of **** really screws things up for me simply because i happen to be 1 month too young?

Seems crazy to me :s

You reckon i could do some persuading on the phone to make them let us have accomodation?

Do you really think they will ask for proof of age if you mark your birthday as two months earlier. perhaps if you look 16, but I'd be surprised if this applies to you. they are basically trying to prevent groups of young people coming in and partying hard all night ... those were the days...

this isnt good guys, i got a bill today for another £25!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tell us more please! What's the bill for exactly, and where? Thanks
#38
Oh dear!! Did you opt for passes or anything which they may have added on? My 38 quid for holiday has been taken out of my bank. Nothing else has though. YET! ...
[Holiday Pirates]#39
I booked for Pontins Prestatyn, I go all the time (have already been 5 times this year) and no for a fact that you pay your price and there are no hidden extras. I paid my £38 and got an invoice today from Pontins saying Service charge £5 per night and bed linen £10. I know you can opt to pay £10 for bed linen in budget acommodation but we never opt for this and take our own. so now I can either pay an extra £25 or lose the £38 I have already paid. I am very angry as had it been advertised at £62 I wouldnt have booked it.

The service charges were expected by me - there was something about it on my page when I booked so I went and checked the site's usual charges:

Applesink
Service Charge £5.50 per unit per night.
Entertainment Plus passes £7 per person per break - Under 5s FREE.

and it did state in the terms and conditions of the offer that the price did not include service charges/entertainment passes, but I agree the linen is a bit off. If they usually give the choice of bringing your own - as the park I'm going to do - then I agree they should do so for this stay too. Probably best to phone and take this reasonable approach and see what they say. Btw, does your site not have an entertainment pass?

Also, is it possible when you paid your price in earlier stays that they always included the service charge? As far as I'm aware, all these sites have a service charge to cover electricity etc. ...
