Tesco currently have the Nobilio 'Limited Release' for £9.99 (around £8 for the regular one) but it's on offer at 3 for £12. Definitely a cut above most wines available in Tesco and now at a very good price. Buy 6 bottles and you get another 5% off.

Sounds good - love NZL sauv blancs.
Is it three for £10 or £12? Think the title may be wrong.

3 for £12 - I've altered the title!

NZ sauvignon blancs are the best white wines I've ever tasted, fell in love with them after touring several vineyards in 2008 and getting drunk on tasters!! Will be buying this! Thanks

Have tried Nobilos in the past and they've been good.

However there seem to be more and more distinctly average NZ SBs creeping on to the market these days, so I'm a little wary. Anyone tried one of these?

One of the better supermarket offered NZSBs.

Nothing touches the Villa Maria in my opinion though :) ... well nothing under £20 a go that is.

You may want to try the Nautilus Sav Blanc if you get a chance, great drop for the money.

I'm currently sitting in the ferry terminal waiting to pop across the channel to top up the supplies, £3.99 a bottle for Villa Maria Sav, £5.99 for the Nautilus Sav, and Lindauer Brut for £4.29.

Currently praying this bloody wind dies down so I can actually get across the ditch, not too fussed about being stuck over the other side with a car load of goodies though ;)

Best NZSB i've tried is Saint Clair Pioneer Block 6 Oh Block. not the cheapest, but gives VM a good kick in the nuts. Worth the extra few quid compared to full priced VM, although when its on special, VM wins.

but this is a very good deal for a decent drop

Spar currently selling VMSB at £5.99 - which is a decent price considering taht I was in a pub in Harefield, Middx that had a chalkboard with this on it for £29.99!! Schocker!

Have Tesco still got the 25% off on 6 bottles or more?

I thought it was 5%? If it's 25% I missed out as I only bought three bottles. Have to go back and get another six!

Frank will be pleased. Didn't he make enough money playing (and now commentating on) golf?

Sadly, don't think so.

No way is this a £10 wine (usual Tesco trick) but good value at £4. Hot.

Better than Oyster Bay?

Cloudy bay is the daddy of NZSB but it don;t come cheap!

SB is my fav and no one does it better than NZ IMHO!!

For those of you who were musing over Southern Hemisphere Sauvignon Blancs, Oxford Landing may be worth a punt if you haven't tried it (It was £3.13 a bottle with the Tesco 25% off 6 bottles deal).

But that Villa Maria deal mentioned in SPAR may get me popping in to my local in case they have it.

Was not a fan of the Oxford Landing at all!
