I was in WH Smiths yesterday and spotted a poster for the Nokia 1112 with a "200 Minutes Free - worth £70" it was only £15, so I thought it was a great bargain, I went into the store today and bought one, I picked up a free sim card and got the phone for £10 as it did not come with a sim (But I got a free one)

I also got a top up voucher for 200 Minutes! and all for a tenner.

Bargain or what? For that price, I might send it to tesco to recycle for 500 clubcard points (Worth £20) and use the free minutes.

Yes, but when converted to deals, it is £20

"I picked up a free sim card and got the phone for £10 as it did not come with a sim (But I got a free one)"

How does that work :?
#4
I asked for a "Free" sim card, and because I was technically already a virgin mobile customer, i did not need a new sim card, so saved £5
#5
I have got 4 sim cards sitting that havent been opened yet.

The 200 minutes free offer ended on June 30th according to the website.
The bundle vouchers had to be activated before then.
So technically your free minutes should not work.

Which makes it strange that they have banners all over the PAYG phones on their site promoting the 200 free minutes even though the offer has expired..

The website has not been updated to reflect that the June date is wrong.

This deal is very confusing to me, is the OP saying that to get it for the price stated, it is for existing registered customers of Virgin?
If it is, shouldn't this be stated?

I believe that this same deal could be had by existing customers going into any Virgin store and purchasing over the counter. It should be possible to get another 10% off if you use a Virgin cc?

So, where is this deal from ?? Virgin Mobile or WHSmith ?

A deal on this was posted before but seem to have expired now...

It doesn't expire until 31st July and even then, that's only 'cause they say it is. If they were to change their mind it could expire next year and judging by the fact that they're still selling them, and are going to struggle to deliver items out in good time, I think you'll find it will be extended.

I got a few phones directly from Virgin over the last two weeks and the voucher had a small label on the back on the cellophane cover covering the original expiry date and advising that the expiry date wasnow not until 31st October 2007.

Yes.. this will be locked to Virgin :)
#14
And not freely unlockable (AFAIK only Virgin can do it & thay may, probably will, charge a hefty fee).
#15
Virgin mobile issues unlock codes free if you have £30 credit on your phone or if you have topped up in total of £30

Is this deal still alive? The website shows 19.99 for the phone+200mins but I do remember there was a deal (with another link) which cost only 10.00 for the same thing.
