Nokia 12 month Satellite Navigation License

This 12 month Satallite Navigation License Code will turn your handset into a fully featured Satallite Navigation System.

Simply Download Nokia Maps directly from the Nokia Site (On some phones this may already be pre-installed) Once you have done that you need to add your navigation license for you to get the full navigation experience.

Simply go to My licenses in the options setting when you run Maps and enter your License code when prompted. This code will give you FULL UK navigation for 12 months.

It could not be simpler. Make the most out of your Mobile.

Dont spend £100's on Satalite Navigation Systems Your phone already has the ability to do it for you.

the cost is £5

seems too good to be true, as it normal costs £52+ a year.

Has anyone bought this, is it genuine?

Although it is a total ripoff that Nokia maps need a licence even after youve paid a few hundred quid for the phone, this seems like a great deal. - and Prepaymania are genuine.

does this cover the data charges that you incur when connecting to the network then?

Data charges are minimal. They will usually be a bit for assisted GPS and a little if you do online search for address, but this licence doesnt cover data.

Alernately you could use plain GPS which takes a little longer to get a fix and there will be no data charges - the maps are downloaded via pc and installed to your memory card..

I'm not sure. I have unlimited data so i've never noticed.

You can download the maps to your phone (via PC-Suite) so that you are not downloading them over 3G as you are driving about.
#14
You don't incur data charges for GPS tracking surely?

Nope. I've got the Nokia 6220 Classic, which already has maps pre-loaded onto the phone. So if you wanted to you can just use GPS, although it just takes a bit longer to get the connection at start up (as someone said above)

nokia has come out lately with V3 of their maps software. It is supposed to be better than the old one, so most bad reviews will refer to v2.

It is vastly better.

Only problem i have is you cant do full postcode searching.

Hot for me.

Just a quick question, I have just purchased this and was wondering how it will be delivered? Surely it'll be electronically and not sent via the snail post?

The options are:

CoPilot
Garmin
Nokia Maps
Sygic
Route 66

None of them are "tomtom". Sygic has the best and easiest user interface - very similar to TomTom. They will all take you for the odd detour - but so did TomTom in the early years (and still does occasionally). Sygic has lane IQ, but no traffic updates. Garmin has traffic and camera updates. Copilot has traffic updates.

The big rule is that these navigators are extremely irritating if u know the way already. If not and you rely on it and dont mind an extra 10 mins on your 2 hour journey then they are lifesavers.

Hope this helps someone. My personal preference is Sygic due to UI, and the option of adding custom poi's, so I add all the PGPSW speedcams.

The Orange one is free if you're on a tariff of £35 or more, that includes the websave ones that you pay £5 less for.

You may have to ring them up and "update" the tariff though because they don't automatically change your tariff as they're not allowed - if you ring them and say "can you put me on the latest version of ............" they'll do it and Orange Maps will be free.

With regards to the A-GPS function on most phones I can confirm that there is no charge with any of the network providers to use this. In calculating your position it doesn't use any data, just triangulates your position in regards to your nearest masts.

BIG thank you! good find and very usefull
#23
Excellent deal, heat added. Cheers

This is hot, hot, hot.

Do you know if I can buy 2 licenses? So when 1st runs out I can use the 2nd?

Tried the new Ovi Maps V3 app on my N95 last Saturday on 100 mile trip to London, not bad, not totally accurate though, was rallying in a field next to the M40 at one point! Used it over the Asda 3G network, data charges pretty good only used about 3MB of data.
#26
Agps will produce data charges, it's the network based method that doesn't cost. You switch agps off though

Another sat nav is called Navmii. It's quite new, and being developed still, but they claim free map updates for a year, and lots of free upgrades as they continue work on it. Works on the nokia 5800 as well, which most don't
#27
cold.... any phone that can do this, can also do google maps & indeed.. if you already paid for the phone why shouldnt you get full nokia maps access for your own country?
#28
A pity it's UK only, will stick with Garmin XT for now. Good deal though:thumbsup:

Yes. Load Maps software, enter the license code in, and you're done.
#37
you dont need to pay for any satnav software.

googlemaps is good but doesnt do voice guided directions.

amazegps is free, and does voice guidence. I almost paid £60 for 2 years subscription to nokia for my 5800 before i found out about amazegps. google it.

You can get nokia maps on any phone? This isn't anything like google maps. Google maps doesn't do navigation or voice directions and you have to download the maps while navigating which will cost and will also decrease the battery life. I've got a new phone and I didnt expect full gps software to come with it free of charge.
You can use nokia maps for free for routing and looking at maps etc but navigating costs and its very good.
This is a bargain HOT
#39
I have a nokia n97 and there is an option to get the subs. for £7.50 for the whole year.
#40
£5 and remember the maps are free through the Nokia map loader application - what a bargain :)
