I purchased this when it was the grey model and when I received the phone it was unbranded and unlocked. I also got £2.50 cashback via GreasyPalm, so got the unlocked phone, £5 Credit on SIM plus free delivery for £7.49

What really annoys me about this is company is this:

Limited 2 handsets per customer/household in any 6 month period

And they mean the same handset, they mean you can only buy 2 of any handset per 6 month period, per household, which is silly because they're only restricting their sales. For example, I had bought two of these Nokia 1208's a couple of months ago, one for me, and one for my mum. Recently I tried getting a Blackberry from them, and they cancelled my order cos of this silly rule. Their loss really, and Amazon's gain!

A truly pathetic phone IMO. Painful to use, poor battery. Poor menu. The SEJ132 is twice the spec for the same price (£5)

Picked up a couple :)

What puts me off is last time I tried to buy a Samsung from a deal on here and after putting card details in it said wait whilst your credit check is completed. Why should I have a credit check done for a pay as you go phone?
#13
anyway of getting this credit on another sim?

Excellent deal, especially if you just want to make a quick profit by using the credits and selling the handset on CEX for £21 (grade A unlocked)!

If you aren't already registered on Cashback Rewards, they will deduct £5 (i think) as their annual fee, which this cashback will cover. If you are with Quidco (like me), you're better off going to Quidco -> eBay -> item listing 250506164006.

It's exactly the same deal from the same retailer, and Quidco will give you 40% of their revenue on this sale - not excellent compared to Cashback Rewards, but every few pennies count!!!

CORRECTION: Cashback Rewards will offer you £2.50 upon registration, which technically is the cashback you can gain from taking this deal!

Hate this company - recently refused to honour the warranty on a phone that died after 6 months and only coughed up months later once threatened with Trading Standards action. (Of course, who cares about the warranty on a £5 phone though.)

I only use Cashback Rewards when Quidco or TCB don't have a merchant listed. I joined when they were the only site to offer 4% cashback with Amazon. (they no longer do)
They only take the £5 from your first withdrawal each year so if you don't withdraw they don't take anything. :)

has anyone actually tried selling one of these to CEX?
http://www.cex.co.uk/products/Phones/Phone%20Handsets/Phones%20Unlocked/index.php?sku=SNOK1208UNLA&name=Nokia%201208,%20Unlocked%20A&mode=sell
Thinking of buying two (bcoz of the limit), keeping one as a spare and selling the other one to CEX.
I've heard CEX are dodgy with their grading sometimes and dont offer the same price on the website instore.
anyone had any luck?
#30
Phones a heap of crap. Got one for the simcard and a spare.
#31
So do you get more money back going straight thru quidco or by using ebay?
#32
I ordered two from Ebay - the Red one x 2. Hopefully both come unlocked.

Cheers OP - need some unlocked phones for myself.

Not dodgy for me in the slightest, I sold one to CeX without a hitch, got my £21 cash for it being an unlocked, A grade. Could have had £26 in the form of an exchange voucher, but wanted the cash. Hope that helps.
