Don't forget quidco - tracks quite quickly, just got £5 back on a Sony Ericsson J132 which cost £14.84 (including £10 credit).
Then you get Orange Wednesday 2 for 1 cinema tickets - for price of a text message (35p) . These are good deals and with great battery life - got to be worth a punt!! (usually unlocked as well!)

what do people think of this phone?? Thinking about getting one for my hubby as his is dying but not sure. He doesn't use his mobile much. Does it have a camera on it?
#3
Nice one. Can't be robbed at the price. Heat added.

What if they take £30, send the phone, but no credit? Oh and refuse your credit card online, make you call up & put it through as a new order without telling you - voiding cashback?

Would think twice before touching CPW online ever again.

In any case, this is about the third posting of this deal.

Don't need anymore mobiles but heat & rep added for a great find

Site does not seem to be accepting any of my cards: credit, debit, switch... It does not even get time to think. I sympathise with jnm21. Maybe not worth ordering?

Yes, and what if they break into your house at night, and steal your dog. A dog you've known and loved since childhood. Then what if they hold him to ransom and demand you send the £10 credit back to them. These people are sick... sick....
On the other hand you might just get the phone and credit and everything will be ok.

If it rejects on the site, that could be the card - I have had trouble with one of mine - been calling them all too often recently.

Eventually used a different card, which the site accepted & confirmed, but got a payment error email hours later. Just whatever you do, don't use debit card - I did (they refused both my credit cards on the phone, one of which said they had asked the retailer to call them to confirm details, not refused the transaction) & now I am having to battle to get the credit (2 weeks later).

The last kept insisting he had resolved my query - to him, resolution was saying he would send an email to another department - can take another 48 hours (incidentally the last one had said she was sending a form to orange, which would take 2 working days) - that was 2 weeks after purchase... I wonder how many people just give up? Another £30 for the CPW profits each time.

On Orange it won't be unlocked whereas on O2 it will be straight out of the box. That's my experiences anyway.

Got one of these phones the other week and am pleased, in fact i ordered another as a spare. I have had many many mobiles over the years and am a little tired of complex phones where they are now difficult to use and the battery fails in a few days, Sure it has no satnav or it wont make the tea, but it does what it is supposed to do make calls and texts and the bonus is it is small and the battery lasts for a week.. Well done nokia. Heat added.

I'm also still fighting CPW for the £10 orange credit I had to buy with a phone I ordered over a month ago... I feel your pain.

What he says sounds like overkill but I ordered from them on Xmas eve and selected delivery for the following Monday. I got a confirmation of the order and stayed in all day but no phone turned up. Phoned the customer 'care' line only to be subjected to automated nonsense that literally takes you in circles to find out that the order was 'awaiting processing'. Tried next day - the same. Tried again following day and only by pretending that I didn't have the order number did the daft system let me talk to a human. He pointed out that the card had been refused (they don't bother to tell you that obviously - idiots!) and offered to redo the order over the phone - as mentioned above and to preserve quidco. I cancelled and then reordered over the net with another card and scheduled delivery for the next working day - guess what? Yep, no phone. It finally turned up a day later than they promised and over a week after original order.

I did talk to the credit card people and they said that there had been a large amount of fraudulant purchases of phones from them in the run up to Xmas so they had automatically stopped the card for internet purchases. Not that they bothered to tell us either!

I've also had a previous phone from them that they have never credited £10 of airtime to so that happens as well. I really should activate this new phone soon to check that they credit this one!

Anyway, whilst I might use them again I have to say that they are pretty incompetent although I don't think they would steal my dog.

Be careful. Had this problem with CPW in the past. Culminated in my credit card being blocked by the bank and a new one with a new number issued. According to the bank CPW had attempted a fraudulent transaction.
#32
Whoah virgo17 that's terrible!! I'm so glad the bank rang me. It's very vigilant of them. They told me I could go ahead and order again which I've now done successfully. Bad CPW though for doing that to you.

First question, yes your mum can simply put her existing Orange sim into the new phone and it will work straight away.

Your DH can make use of the orange sim with the £10 credit on it in his existing Orange mobile however, he will have to use the telephone number that comes with the sim. He wiill not be able to transfer the £10 onto a different sim. Hope that makes sense lol

This sounds very familiar. I had nearly £10k worth of fraud on my card after I bought one of these phones from CPW! (Good deal on the phone though!!!)

OMG! I must have been really lucky. Had all the hassle of getting a new card and everything that goes with that but at least no financial loss or issues.

Like several posters to these forums I won't be using Carphone Warehouse online again.
#38
I had one of these a few months ago. They are pretty decent phones for such a low end model. The display is half decent compared to the cheap SE J110 (or whatever it is).
#39
After dispatch I had an unauthorised transaction from CPW. It was only for 1p so I told my CC company to authorise it. They can buy themselves a nice cola bottle ;)

edit: Just got mine. It is the Orange deal and is unlocked. First impressions are the interface is slow but apart from that seems a good little phone.
#40
Received my phone. It's great for a cheap Nokia mobile as a spare. Replaces my last spare the 1110. Nice to have a colour screen! I haven't tested it to see if mine is unlocked but that could be very handy.
