Bought this phone at Carphone warehouse today for only £4.95. To get this phone for this price you need to already be an O2 pay as you go customer. You just provide your details & they upgrade you meaning you dont have top up & just pay the handset price.

If your not already on O2 then you will need to top up with £10 which is still a hot deal.

This basic Nokia phone comes unlocked & is a complete bargain!!!

Quidco at £5 to.

How do you buy it without the £10 top-up ?

If you're saying you'd have paid £10 to o2 anyway so net cost is £4.95, it won't quite work will it ... as CarWhse will apply the £10 top-up to the o2 SIM that comes with the phone (that's how they get their commission, for adding a PAYG TO the network), not give you a voucher to top up your existing o2 number ???

Certainly that's what has always happened with previous deals like this as I recall or know from 1st hand.

How do you get out of not paying the top up fee? Don't think I can figure it out? Or is it that you get a £10 top up card for O2?
#3
Great just ordered one as son lost his and were all on o2
Thanks
#4
They put it through as a pay as you go upgrade. You need to provide your name, address and O2 phone no. By doing this you will not get any cashback and can only be done in store. You will also receive a percentage of your topups back as credit on your sim. My sister did this before christmas buying a phone for our mum. Nokia 2330 £24.95 and got £21 odd in credit.

Even if you pay £14.95 and get £5.00 quidco back you would still get a free phone.

You can use the £10.00 credit for one off calls.

Great even a as spare phone

You can transfer the £10 credit onto your original o2 sim, I recently bought a new phone for my son from carphone warehouse online (was cheaper than instore and also quidco) had to buy the £10 credit and I just assumed it would be a £10 voucher but it is actually a preloaded new sim card, so just phoned up o2 and asked to transfer the credit from the new sim to the original sim. no problem.

Im very sure as i bought it on O2 but im using in with my Orange sim card! They have different network promotions at different times thats all.

I bought this phone a couple months ago and was very impressed. Very light and thin. Its better to get this than get another cheap phone with camera that you will never use. It doesn't have any fancy functions but great for those who only use a mobile phone to talk and text only. Good reception as well!

If it comes locked, beware that it might not be possible to unlock yet so check before you buy. The OP title needs to be a little more clear though if it needs a £10 top up...

every single phone i buy is from carphone warehouse and they have all been unlocked.

Bought one of these from e2save (part of cpw) a few months back and can confirm it was unlocked.

Handy to keep as a backup and has a fairly decent torch!

I hav sim only contract with o2 CPW, had been to store yday to buy just handset. But looks like £10.00 topup is mandatory thoug you hav sim only monthly contract.
#33
dam I hav paid £20.00 for same locked phone from vodafone.

I'm not convinced why is the sim free one £34.95 if its unlocked.

Sim free phones generally cost more as they are not subsidised and are always unlocked. When you buy a phone on pay as you go or contract and you get a sim card with it. This means its being subsidised by the network provider you subscribe to.

Yeah that's why I'm not convinced its unlocked.
#36
if some1 have received it then he might confirm.
#37
I've just noticed that if you are intending to buy online with the £10 top-up, if you do it through quidco and E2save, the cash back is £7.50 rather than £5 at CPW.

Not sure if its unlocked though.
