Phone for £1 - nice!
Even includes a speaker phone and FM radio!
You need to buy £10 airtime as well

If you feel lucky, try for £6.50 from quidco!

Phones4u are usually unlocked as well.

Blurb:
The New Nokia 1661 pay as you go phone is as simple as a simple thing on a simple day! It’s just a great little phone for making calls, and texting. The basic bar design keeps well in the Nokia stable, meaning the menu buttons are the same and easy to use… great news for Grandad!

Polyphonic ringtones
Vibration alert
FM radio
Built in speaker phone
SMS
As you might expect there aren’t that many features to the Nokia 1661 that we can start reeling off but it does have a cracking built in FM radio, Organiser, calculator, speed dialling and even a built in speaker phone, to name but a few. And one for the more adventurous, downloadable polyphonic ringtones.

Like many things you save the best ‘til last so here it is… the battery life. Because it doesn’t have all these latest gadgets sucking the life out of it the Nokia 1661 has up to 475hrs battery life on stand by! That’s nearly 20 days battery life! Making it ideal if you’re away and you know you don’t have power to re charge. A perfect spare for festival season!

Blimey !!!!! are Nokia putting phones in their gadgets now.
This could catch on. Splendid deal, voted hot.

Can anyone confirm if it is unlocked I need a cheap phone to use on an orange contract.
#4
hot deal ordered thanx.
#5
does it have expandable memory, can it play mp3?????????????
#6
No expanded memory and no mp3 - I have this phone as as temp replacement and it was cheap (not this cheap though!). No camera etc also.

Mine was unlocked but I bought from Vodafone. It works fine as a phone/text but there is no bluetooth/connectivity so you have to re-enter all your phone contacts manually (unless you can fit all your contacts on your sim).

It also comes with Snake Xenzia pre-loaded if you fancy a bit of retro gaming!

Comes with charger (very narrow nokia charger - don't know if this is the standard these days?) and pair of headphones. Battery (as stated above) lasts for *ages*.

HOT, good deal!

Probably as it's not trying act like it's a PC! My current phone's battery can last for 2 days at most, 4 years ago I had a phone that would do 4 to 5 days no problem. If I was off on holiday or to a festival I know which one I'd be taking!
#9
sounds like the perfect phone to me, fortunately it has the two things i want in a phone that £500 sets done seem to have.. the ability to use it as a phone fully and a large battery life.

new stupid system wont let me edit my post- meant to say 'don't have'

£5.50 profit and a phone to be made here for any Virgin customers..

Buy it for £1.00 + £10.00 top up plus get £6.50 cash back = Total Cost £4.50

Then ring Virgin Customer services and transfer the topup credit onto your contract tariff..

Could I get get Virgin c.s. to transfer the credit to my existing PAYG SIM ? If so that would be cheaper than buying a topup.

+1 Anyone?
#31
Damn, unlike those pesky eeeiiiiPhones you can hold they any way you like and still make a phone call.. what about that!
#32

I have had trouble before when buying online from e2save as to check my credit card they requested a small amount and this flagged up with my credit card company so the transaction wouldn't go through.

I then had to contact my credit card company to authorise the transaction but sadly it does it every time i buy from them online.

Can't fault the company though they have some very cheap phones and even the refurbs have turned up mint!
#33
Also Cex give £5 cash for this if locked to Virgin Mobile otherwise unlocked ones they give £10.
#34
Infinite Element
But they're on TalkMobile, which nobody's heard of.

TalkMobile is a good network, they're basically Vodafone so awesome coverage, but also cheap for contracts with data :) I've got Nokia 5230, 100 mins, 500 texts, unlimited data, £12 / month / 24 months.

Whoops, looks like I went way off-topic :( my apologies.
#35
Worth a punt as a spare :)
#36
bought it. why not?
#37
Are these unlocked? I take it isn't 3g? :p

I was thinking the same, I went for it anyway. Not sure about 3g, i'm phone illiterate. I am with asda PAYG myself, With the cashback it works out £4.50 so i thought it would be rude not to.

I'll try to put my Asda sim in and see what occurs :D

This phone unlocked at e2save.com (as far as I know), good price (you can get back £7.5 with quidco), long time battery, confident to use (no worry being stolen)

most phones unlocked for £5 now - blackberrys are the only phones that cost £10 (well according to my local guy anyway)
