Don't know how long this offer is on for - I picked one up for my mum this weekend.

Basically if you have an o2 pay as you go number you get £10 discount off the price of the phone.

So normally it is £19,.95 and you get it for £9.95.

You don't need to buy top-up either because you are an existing o2 customer

Phone is unlocked aswell so you can use it abroad or on another network.

I thought it was a bargain.

ONLY IN STORE OFFER

Basic Specification

- 107 x 46 x 13.8 mm, weights 80g
- VGA, 640x480 pixels camera + 128x96 @ 6fps video

I am going to pick up one of these tommorrow.

A I need a phone right now. Spare one, hopefully before I pick up a iphone.

Cheaper but a bit more basic is the LG GB102 which is £5 at 02, with £3.50 topcashback at the moment. It has a speakerphone but nothing else really but is alright as a spare. No top-up needed.

op did say ' instore only '

Bought two of the LGs over the last few days. 1 @ £10 and 1 when they dropped to £5 Top cashback tracked neither.

Friend bought the £15 Samsung, topcashback did not track that one either.

I'm still hoping it will track.

Hmm, just bought the 5 quid one from o2, now I wonder if I should get this. It's for my husand -- all he wants is a basic phone to make and receive phone calls, nothing else. Is the Nokia still the better phone than the LG GB102 when all you want is basic use? If so, how much better?

Got to agree with this, but the LG is really cheap for a spare. The nokia would be better if it was going to be used quite a bit.

Don' t give up on the cashback.
TCB sometimes take a couple of weeks to track with 02. I've just had £50 cashback from a simplicity contract I bought ages ago and had given up hope of getting.

Well I spoke to some girl who was working at one of the stores, she goes the offer goes live today but it depends on each store - when their system will be updated. Plus I went to two stores near me and they had no stock. So I have to go again tommorrow.

Good deal though. Hot find.

thanks

thanks for the post...I brought just now...
He said it is locked for the particular SIM or phone number given in store.
#20
need one of these. Can anyone confirm if locked or not

thanks

Just been and your sim has to be active for 6 months
#21
does it really work??

Firstly - This offer does not go live today. It has been live for at least 3 weeks. The person who said this was talking rubbish. I can give her names of people, who she can check in the system they use, who have bought this offer before me.

This is fully unlocked. Carphone Warehouse sells no unlocked phones (apart from iphone) so saying it is locked to particular sim card to completely rubbish.

Just bought one. It's unlocked.

They just scanned the Sim I got 2 weeks ago as part of the O2 goals promotion. The only restriction they mentioned was that I could not use that Sim to purchase another phone for 6 months.

This is correct, I was also advised of this.
Once you have used that number for an upgrade, you cannot use the same number for 6 months to do another upgrade.

Great deal none the less in my opinion, and at last someone else has confirmed it is unlocked :whistling:

After finding that there were none in Eastleigh, I picked one up today from Romsey. The guy there said that they were selling fast and he had only one more left, plus that someone had picked one up earlier after being told to try Romsey by the Southampton branch... so I'm guessing that stocks may be low, worth calling ahead.

A bit cheap feeling, but works fine and hopefully more reliable than my previous phone. Also I checked as others seem to care and the one I got at least was unlocked.

So hot from me.

Anyone know if they have any other handsets at low prices as PAYG 'upgrades'?

Can I get this deal with a new 02 sim in a phone that hasn't yet been activated or topped up? I just got the LG phone for 5 quid that came from 02 and it's white and the buttons look fiddly. Can I take that in to Carphone Warehouse and get this deal if I haven't topped it up? I plan on popping in a tesco sim that already has airtime on it, so I don't want to top up the 02 sim.
#31
I was going to go into my local CPW store today when I noticed on the web site it said you could phone, so I did. First person I spoke to said they didn't upgrade PAYG phones, I could buy 1 with a £10 top up. I read him what it said on their website and he transferred me. Eventually spoke to someone who did know about it, wouldn't list phones covered by the offer asked for make and price - said Nokia and £20 and she offered the Nokia 2330 (what a surprise!). Confirmed price was £9.95. Was put on hold for a long time, she alleged had trouble finding stock. But I have now completed my order and it should be delivered (free) by DHL tomorrow. (I'll update if it doesn't - also expecting it to be unlocked).

If you use the address below you will see vague details (the phones shown is not the only phones available) and you will see Vodafone, virgin and orange are included as well!

I'm new to this site. Can someone clarify something please? The offer is for O2 pay as you go customers. I have a Tesco sim which I believe uses O2 network. Do I qualify for this offer? What exactly will they ask to see at Carphone Warehouse?
banned#33
tesco number will not work.

they do not ask to see anything - they just ask what your o2 PAYG number is

No, it has to be an activated and registered O2 PAYG sim as they check your name and address details online with O2.

I just got this deal today guys, thanks a lot. Much better phone than the LG

It is expired now. I tried today to get this upgrade on my o2 pay as you go sim and its £30 pounds now ...

got one thanks
it is a lot better than the 1661

I bought 2 of these earlier when they were on Orange and can vouch for them. Great little phones (the Nokias). There is another model that can take a memory card and is black but is otherwise the same which is the one I would be quite happy to have for myself. But £10 is well worth it as the charger alone is a fiver or so.
