admittedly i wont be buying it (cos iv plenty of payg handsets knocking about and must resist!)

most 'almost free' payg handsets such as Sony Ericsson J132, Nokia 1600, Samsung B130 put simply just rubbish.

the nokia 2610 isnt exceptionally brilliant but is by far and away better than most of the 'almost free handsets'

well Dial-a-phone are currently doing the nokia 2610 on orange for £7.78 (+ £10 orange topup)

use 'metro10' code and get 10% off the phone so it becomes £7.00
and if you go through quidco you get £5 back

so in effect £12 for nokia 2610 and £10 orange top up.

quite a bargain i think!

(btw - delivery is FREE!)

PS anyone know if dialaphone handsets are network locked?

I voted Hot because even though I don't want one....it's a Hot UK Deal...

can you unlock this one for free anyway? a quick google makes me think you can, sites are offering it for 1.99 if not tho
#4
brilliant find :)

Dont forget £5 quidco.

Nokia 1600 can be unlocked for free where as 2610 cannot (£5 from dodgy unlocking dude) they are however quite similar although 2610 looks better
#6
i never liked the navigation buttons on this, very stiff BUT at this price who cares! Great find.

Thankyou! Heat added. Brought for my dad, think he'll like this one, nice & simple & even looks a bit like his old nokia!

not sure if this works

2610 is listed tho

As an alternative to Orange, nothing wrong with Sony Ericsson J132 despite what the OP says. As posted on here recently for just over £6 at Argos.

£5 free credit with T mobile, phone has FM radio and stereo handset. I know the display is nothing special but has got plenty of features, alarm, stopwatch, calculator etc.

Very long battery life and widely available - as well as Argos, I think Asda still have these instore for just under £8.

I have one of these from last Christmas, when carphone warehouse knocked them out at around 8 quid. It's fine, but have been told repeatedly it can't be unlocked easily, as it's one of the newer brands of harder phones to unlock - can't use free codes. I don't know this for sure, but don't assume that it can be unlocked from self-generated unlock codes.
#12
Voted hot, despite misleading title/price - I thought it was a rule on here that quidco (or similar) are not included in prices quoted (as not certain) & the offer is "£17 for 2610, £10 orange credit & possible £5 quidco", not £2 or even £7.

will the airtime be on the sim or on a separate voucher?

thanks

good price

The EU has brought out a law which makes it an offence for the retailer to refuse to unlock a handset. Apparently it is against the freedom of choice rules (or somesuch).

Hope this helps?

It's a good price but just bear this in mind when you buy it - http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/nokia-2610.htm

£2 isn't a bargain if it's no good to you!
#17
Cant take Quidco into account as its not Guaranteed

It's not DCT4 - I'd be guessing if I said which it is, but I know it isn't DCT4.

The 1600 isn't one of them - thought that for a long time, but managed to download a program (WorldUnlock Calculator) which does them.
