i know for sure you can transfer credit from one orange pay as you go to another without probs.

as long as you can prove that the sim belongs to you.

can anyone say how you would go about transfering credit onto an exisiting orange pay monthly sim? as stated by the OP. really intrested in this

Officially you may be meant to be able to transfer credit - but it would be interesting to have the account of what happens when you try posted here.

I am sure Orange CS is a training scheme for village idiots who will have the unemployment benefit they have had received since they left school/their institution, stopped unless they attend.

On a brighter note - the phone works with Blyk - so you can let Orange subsidise your new phone and not deal with their customer services and sell on the sim with the tenner.

Hi ibiza, seen your comment of Blyk and was wondering if it is as free as it says. I was going to tell my granddaughter about Blyk but not sure of it being as it says so if you could allay my doubts it would be appreciated. thanks.
#23
Great deal even just to use as a spare and for the Orange Wednesdays 2for1 cinema tickets.

The last few phones i have bought from P4U have all been locked too :(
#26
As someone who has one of these phones, I feel I should point out that it is almost impossible to see the display in daylight - and definitely impossible to see when in direct sunlight.

Absolute pants.

Seems like the option is to buy from a store now. Can i still get everything the same if i collect from store? i.e Quidco etc...
#28
i think this deal has finished, when i click PAYG > Nokia > 2610 > Orange it give a buy later option.

i think they have cottoned on!

Thanks for that Owldin, yeah I can join from their home page by clicking on the Blyk link. So that's easy. It seems like a great deal, 43 mins and 217 texts, for just being sent a few ads by text. That amount would probably be more than enough for me, so 0 call costs. Anyway I'm not 16-24 y.o. but I don't intend telling them that, cheeky beggars!! :giggle:

As i recall, when i signed up they ask for your driving license number/passport number to check your identity...so you may come unstuck there (its been almost a year now though so I may be imagining it)
#36
Hmm... interesting ID requirements considering many 16 year olds would have neither. Also how would have have access to driver licensing and passport records?

Bought a P&G from P4U two weeks ago, it WAS locked. Bought this, will keep you posted.

I will be suprise if you can get any PAYG handsets from any UK mobile networks that unlatched to any mobile phone networks. Most of the UK mobile networks would rather have you tied to their own network with the PAYG handsets which allows you to use their own either Pre Pay/Post Pay sim cards. Unless you have reach the 12 month warranty period of the handset, you may have to pay a fee to unlatch it.
Be advise Post Pay contract handsets especially on the Vodafone & O2 network don't latched their handsets but only for Pre Pay handsets since the last time I've upgraded via Vodafone & O2. Can't say much about Orange & T-Mobile network but I know friends of mine claim they tend to latched their Post Pay contract handsets.
Hope this helps.

Do they have the right to access your personal details for checks directly with the DVLA & The Passport Agency especially for eligibility criteria when these 2 agencies are governed by the Government. Can't find the info on their website. :?
Just watch you are doing or you may get caught out on the data they collect.

2. Use of Personal Data
2.2.1 processing your Personal Data to ensure that you fall within the Eligibility Criteria

reading some posts on this thread
i would not advise anyone to get blyk

reason? simply becuase the network is rubbish.

sometimes the texts you send take upto an hour to get delivered
but the main reason is that after one month of working fine, you do not get a refill for your next month of minutes and texts. the network has had problems since 3-4 months on this issue. they keep sending people settings to make your blyk sim work but the settings will not install correctly on the phone. its a major problem with blyk and many people have already left.
which is suprising becuase blyk was ment to be using the orange network.

read some of the rants on thier forum page
http://forum.blyk.co.uk/forums/5/ShowForum.aspx

do not get blyk, worthless junk

would this apply to the Alcatel E227 Orange Pay as You Go too?
horrible phone though!!!
