The Nokia 2730 mobile phone is the new introductory level 3G phone sporting some fantastic looks and remarkable characteristics. With a 2-inch QVGA screen, 2 MP camera, Bluetooth and Stereo FM radio, the device will be well equipped to address everything thrown at it, and with 3G connection integrated, itll have a accessible access to the Web, too.

The figure is simply stunning, and with sleek curved corners appears likely to sit comfortably in the palm of your hands. This device is very much about bringing an improved feel to emerging markets, where a lot of people will be first going to the Internet. The devices display and connectivity will certainly help bring that to life.

Like the 2720, the 2730 features Nokia Life Tools (in chosen markets) and Ovi Mail for instant and user-friendly email. The phonebook too, is rather groundbreaking, sporting sufficient slots for 1,000 mobile numbers. Even the very popular exec would be hard pressed to fill that up, but where this mobile phone will without second thought be shared amongst many in countries where phone-sharing is the norm, itll prove itself very functional. The long-term battery time, as well, will be a useful summation to a 3G device in emerging markets. Up to 17 days standby and 3.3 hours talk-time (WCDMA) will help keep charges to a minimum.

[FONT=Verdana]Not bad as the cheapest I've seen is from Play.com (link below) going for £59.99p.

Reasonable price, by the way, other phone mentioned: nokia 2720 can be had for £39.99 (includes £10 free topup) at tesco.

Any idea whether or not the Nokia 2720 at Tesco would be locked? I need to use it on o2.

Thanks

Tesco will unlock after top-ups though, and I don't think they charge for this, as long as they've earned some cash from you, used to be less than £30 or so.

Agreed that it's likely to be locked, and I couldn't use O2 and Tesco sims swapped around in each others phones, even though they use the same physical network, they identify as different networks, for the purposes of Sims etc.

Tesco do lock there phones, used to be £30 top up and they'd unlock. It's been changed to £25 top up and 3 months from activation. I have done this several times but be prepared to argue with CS if there is any credit bought with the phone as some claim that this is not topup and does not count towards the£25. I had to speak to a couple of people to find one that agreed with me. Tesco sims will work in O2 phones (most of them anyway) but not the other way around.

This is a good deal, but the company is a shamble. For that I'm going to have to vote cold, otherwise this would be a great deal! Voting cold, but respect added for your effort

All new vodafone handsets are unlocked,if they are locked, you call them from a vodafone number, they will give you the unlock code for free :)
#15
I'd love to believe it's a free unlock but not willing to take the chance on buying to find I'm stuck with a phone I can't use.

You are so wrong. what you mention only applies to phones on Contact and not PAYG. With PAYG they are 99% of the time Locked to Voda and CS will not unlock it for FREE unless you tell them you have had the phone for more then 12 months, which will be lying.

I can confirm this having bought a PAYG Vodafone recently. You have to pay £19.99 to unlock it, unless you've had it over 12 months.
