This looks like a good deal. Also remember that you get free maps and Navigation with this phone.

Heat added

PS: How easy is to unlock this phone ?

probably be locked to vodafone. I got another phone from Asda direct a couple of days ago and it was on O2, so probably

I think it shouldnt be too hard to unlock. It has the option to enter the unlock code when you put another sim in, so its just about getting the code from vodafone i guess. Alternatively you could go to those guys on the high street =)

Can anyone confirm you get the holder with this phone and how good is the nav software please. Many thanks

Not sure whether you will get the holder or not. But in the Nokia website it cost £159.99 this phone with the holder.

But for £3.49 you can get this one

http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/923803/Nokia-Car-Charger-And-Holder-N-Series-For-1680-Classic-2610-2630-2760-5800-Xpress-Music-6300-6600-Slide-7100-Supernova-E66-E71-E90-N95-N95/Product.html

I currently have this charger with my N97 and works fine using the extra adapter included with the phone.

The Navigation system is very good. Just to give you an idea how good it is. I sold my Tomtom once I got this.

The maps are uptodate and they are very easy to update through the Nokia Maps. Also because the N97 has 32gb I put all the maps for Europe, USA, South America, etc. .

Is really worth it.

PS: One last thing I have PAYG and I can confirm that the GPS does not use the Network so no extra charges. All the maps are offline. Even the speed cameras are there.

One of the annoying things about this site is that I do not need this but I do like it! I could have been happily ignorant but now I am tempted... This is a smart looking phone that does dozens of things I do not need or want or indeed heard of. If it is easily unlocked by typing in a code then I will go for it, probably. Humming and hawing here...

Lol I know that feeling.

Well if this phone should be similar to the N97 as they have similar SW. I had to wait 6 months in order to get my unlocking code from 3. But in the end I got it for £15. Not sure how quick or how much it will cost for this one.

you are sooo wrong mate, if these are the new version it will cost £25+ to unlock

I've looked at this phone quite a bit, at this price not a bad deal...

But only £79.99 in CPWH, or E2Save or likewise for the 5530 model up, with WIFI

After careful consideration for the £10 it seems like something I'd always be annoyed about not spending out on...

Maybe something to consider for anyone looking at the deal
#23
so is it right that if i buy it from carphone warehouse for £78.95 it will come unlocked

just rang my local mobile phone shop who have unlocked mobiles for me before for £5, they quoted £30 for this one

The 5530 is not actually a model up. It is pitched at the same price point, it just has different features e.g. wi-fi instead of 3G. The 5230 has GPS which the 5530 doesn't.
Also - took out a Vodafone contract on the 5230 last month and it came unlocked so there is a chance this one will also be unlocked.

My understanding is that Vodafone will only provide you with an unlock code for free when you have had the phone with them for at least two years. Is that not the case anymore?
#29
If this is the same as the 5230 I bought from Very a couple of months ago then it WILL be unlocked. I use Asda's PAYG network (which is basically vodaphone but a lot cheaper and great value) and all I did was insert my existing PAYG sim card.

Easy peasey. Oh, and it's a lovely little phone. The GPS is excellent, though I cannot get/find how to do a postcode search... so any help would be greatly received.

You can get cheap accessories for this phone from here:

I personally ordered for this phone (got it from the previous Very offer):

21545 Kanen KM802V Noise Isolation In-Ear Stereo Earphones with Volume Control (3.5mm Jack/124cm Cable) - $5.20

24661 Genuine Nokia N95 Stereo Headset with Microphone and Volume Control - $6.02 (handsfree and music controls)

14946 Protective Leather Case with Belt Clip for Nokia N73/N78/N82 - $3.04 (fits very well)

20484 Rinco LCD Screen Protector for Nokia 5800 Cell Phones - $0.90 (same screen so fits well)

23870 Retractable USB Charging Cable for Nokia N70/N95/N93/N91/N90 + More (70cm) - $2.19 (to charge from laptop or in the car)

Very happy with the phone in general, you get the most of HTC/iPhone features at a fraction of the price.

I'd be getting one if it was definitely a cheap unlock. Not much good me getting the phone cheapthen having to pay £30 to get it unlocked. Hot deal though, heat added.

No they don't, they charge £20. How do I know? I asked them - my gf has this fone.

Altho after 12 months of owning the fone they do.
#36
I think its only free if you're on contract. Payg has always carried a charge.
#37
Great deal for a WiFi phone.

Been looking at this one for some time through the catalogue.
#38
this ain't the wifi one - this is the 3G and GPS one - the 5530 is the wifi one (no 3g/GPS) and the 5800 has it all. To reiterate, mine was unlocked on vodaphone.
