Is this refurbished/ex demo or new? I can't figure it out from the E2save page.
#2
It's a clearance phone.
see http://shopping.e2save.com/about-clearance for an explanation.

Just Google on the company and clearance phones and you will see they can't figure it out either! :-(

Question? Could I access the internet, say from my own wi-fi point, without incurring Vodaphone charges? In other words, is this Nokia phone a Mobile Internet Device or does it get access to the internet like a conventional phone (through the phone network).
#5
I don't think this phone has wifi

Yes for the price now and GPS built in with free Sat Nav for ever is pretty good...

If you want all the extras you will pay a lot more....

Other than the camera and arguably the design, yes.
#16

#17

Depends what you need. The 5230 is a touchscreen symbian smartphone, with built in GPS (also has internet based A-GPS) and free sat nav via Ovi Maps. As this is a smartphone there's plenty of symbian based applications for it. The camera is not as good as the viewty.

Is it locked?
Can I use it with 3 sim card?

Buy it with a Vodafone sim card and it will be unlocked.

For anyone asking about refurbed or new etc, the phones are likely to be customer 14 day returns or just damaged boxes so they repackage them. You will get the handset, wall charger and instruction manual and nothing else. You will need a memory card to use the satnav which you can buy from ebay for next to nothing.

I have this phone (not through this deal but just I have it :-) ) and it's good, main downside is no Wifi, but a definate upside for me is the inbuilt gps, and the fact that you can download Ovi Maps for free! Means I can never really be lost (in theory! :-) )

http://www.nokia.co.uk/services-and-apps/ovi-maps

This also means you can have sat nav on your phone! Which is handy! The only thing is I think sometimes it does connect to the internet to calculate the route, i'm trying to establish is this is true or not before I go to France as I dont want a huge bill, so I'd check that, but to just find your position on a map I think it does this totally just on the downloaded maps.

So to me, hot deal!

Really trying to resist this one as I only need a basic phone but my LG Cookie is only 2G so this one seems perfect. My last mobile was a clearance phone from the same group & came as new in box - just to confirm will this be unlocked as with the other CPW group websites if anyone has received one ? Just to double check, thanks :)

just what I was looking for.:-D H+R well deserved and added.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone bought and received yet? Need it unlocked to use on O2.
#27
expired?

Received mine and it's unlocked. Works quite happily on Three.

Can anyone explain how the handset subsidy works? I have no intention of using the supplied vodafone SIM card. If I sell it to someone else who registers it, will they get my £10 topup? Will CPW be unhappy if I never register the phone?
