Nokia 5300 description : The Nokia 5300 XpressMusic can hold over 100 albums worth of music (approximately 1500 tracks) on a 2GB microSD card. Thanks to dedicated music keys, consumers can easily control the playback of their music while simultaneously enjoying other functions such as texting, browsing or taking pictures. For an even better groove, consumers can plug in their favorite headphones or external speakers with a 3.5mm headset jack by simply connecting them to the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic using the inbox adapter. The Nokia 5300 XpressMusic swiftly transfers albums and music collections to a PC using a standard micro USB connector. When traveling, consumers can use the Nokia Wireless Audio Gateway AD-42W to stream their music collection and favorite playlists wirelessly to any stereo from their Nokia 5300 XpressMusic.

No one-hit wonder, the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic also comes with the latest messaging functions complemented by a 1.3 megapixel camera. Incoming calls can be enhanced with video ring tones on the high resolution display.

Cashback : £420.00 cashback, to be claimed in 5 stages. Very reliable cashback from CoolNewMobile which I can personally vouch. You need to send 'original' airtime bills within 30 days. Check the CNM feedback thread in Misc forum for more details on cashback claims.

A few points for thought:

1.They do some unusual things like charging £2.50 to test your credit card on free phones. Understandable but stupid because they don't even refund.

2.The cashback takes place in 5 stages, far too many in my honest opinion as a good number is around 3. There are advantages and disadvantages but I would bet that stats point to 3 being the optimum.

I'm really tempted by this, I've never bought a cashback mobile before though so I'm quite wary. What I'm worried about is going over my allowed call-time and texts. Is there any way of finding out about it? (whether you've gone over it or not?) Also, if it's 5 times a year, how soon after sending away for the cashback do you get it back? Finally do they automatically cancel the contract after 12 months or do you have to do it yourself? Oh and are there any compulsory charges? (ie itemised billing etc)

Thanks a lot!

A couple of phones I have had give you either the option to clear record each month and then monitor call time or, the latest, just tells you how many minutes remaining.

Its an any network minute allowance and I got it with the Boots points system so I have to spend around £400 in Boots this year !

It looked a great deal at the time I just can't see how these offers work for the suppliers. I am now looking at this one and others on cash back as a second mobile.

1. You can check unused minutes & texts anytime
2. Cashback in 5 stages. I have claimed 4 so far successfully & 5th one is being processed. CNM are very quick in processing cashback claims. usually I receive mine in less than a month. They also tell you when they receive your claim & process it.
3. Contract is not cancelled automatically. You need to call the network at the end of month 11 to cancel the contract by providing 30 days notice
4. Optional Itemised Billing £1.50 per month

HTH :)

Reading through the T&C's, they also seem to have some of the hardest I have seen esp. where cancellations are concerned for example. After 6 months you're ok, but even then errors you make could be charged at £10 a time for example. If your DD fails then it's around £60 fine and the list goes on. I'll have to think about this deal carefully.

Also, they mention "We therefore recommend that you pay your bills on time and do not cancel or take a summary itemised bill from the network."

not sure what this means...

I think it means take the optional (£1.50/mon ?) itemised billing. Not sure why they are telling you this (may be they take a cut from the £1.50 fee).

I guess one problem with sending the original bill is that if lost, you can't re-send the claim again.

:x

i`d never use them again, a right pain in the ar"£. Sent my 1st bill wrong cost me £10.

Got 1 cash back

Then for my 2nd I didn`t send both parts in, but they sent an e-mail saying cashback claim successful, and also told me on the phone it should be ok as well . Then by letter was told everything was runied for the rest of the cashbacks because I didnt send both parts in.

My contract ends in March I will go elsewhere

So let me get this right. As I don't use my phone all to often to go over the free minutes and text would it be useful for me to have? No catches as long as I cancel when the 12 months are up?

Yet another valid point. Major providers i.e. carphone warehouse and white label affiliates always ask you to send copies not originals. A much nicer way of working in my honest opinion and they are just more upfront about T&C's. Note that they have become even more liberal on cashbacks recently where others haven't.

This seems a good deal at first glance, but I'm afraid the T&C's seem a little too harsh for my liking. I think I'll be staying away from this one. Thanks to the OP for posting though.

You should've done it properly then. Only yourself to blame.
