Nokia 5530 in black and new illuvial (pink) backed by pixie lott also the black one comes with a laynard and white case in the box,

Basicly a better built (metal frame) 5800 only missing 3G and GPS
otherwise retains all 5800 features including

wifi
3.2 cammera
symbian s60 5th edition
Facebook apps all pre installed and comes with a 4GB memory card in the box.

Cracking phone if you dont need gps or 3G

Also i should say to avoid paying the top up required. Regardless what network you take it on just provide a phone number for someone on that network, EG

£99.95 on t mobile
, Find a tmobile phone number,
go to cpw buy the phone,
and just say you already have a tmobile sim,
give the tmobile number from before they wont charge the top up.

£5 Quidco to be had on this...

But the OP says how to avoid that. It's in the OP.

If going online you can get £5 Quidco though

It's not 3G either but good price.

Again - mentioned quite clearly in the OP.

This is an ideal phone if you want a touchscreen with Wifi. I don't think there is a cheaper on out there with Wifi. I also think the interface if improved over the 5800 (though this may have been rectified by a recent firmware update). It is slimmer than the 5800 too - but a slightly smaller screen too.
#10
5530 has kinetic scrolling and a fancier homescreen than the 5800. Those are the only two things which I think that it has over its bigger brother.

5800 is supposed to be getting kinetic scrolling in a future update, but I'm not holding my breath (anymore!)

Will this come locked to T Mobile if ordered through the T Mobile deal?
I want to use a Vodafone contract sim in this but don't want to have to pay to get it unlocked.

Ta.

Great price, really good phone. Has anyone got a Tmobile number they can PM me that I can use?!

The OP says it is unlocked but I couldn't see anything on the CPW site which says it is unlocked. However, CPW phones usually come unlocked so it shouldn't matter which network you order. I guess you could always take it back to a CPW or send it back if you did find it was locked though.
#14
Thanks, I might even try them with the Vodafone model, if I can get it without the top up credit then it might be worth the extra £10 over the T Mobile phone. Need to be done over the phone though as for the web deal you need the PAC code + number.

Why do you want to port your number? I thought the point was you wanted an unlocked phone so you could use your existing contract SIM?

According to the OP you just go to CPW and tell them you already have a Vodaphone SIM so you don't need a SIM card and they will sell you it for £109.99. However, you may as well order a Virgin or T-Mobile SIM online, get £5 Quidco making it £104.99 and you have a spare SIM with £10 credit which you could potentially sell or use.

To get quidco you need to order online. To order online the system is asking for a PAC code as well as your network and number - it doesn't seem to recognise that you already have a sim for the same network as the phone you're ordering. Also assumes the T Mobile or Virgin phones are unlocked - yes I could return them but can I be ar5ed?

How can you need a PAC code? It's a pay-as-you-go phone - so there is no way you NEED a PAC code. Even if it was a contract phone there is no way you NEED a PAC code. What if you haven't got a current mobile?

I've had a look and can't see where you need a PAC code unless you are porting your number - which you aren't.

Nice I might actually buy this tomorrow. I'm already on 02 and I dont want to be forced to pay another £10 for a Top for a new sim card. Do I just head into Carphone Warehouse and tell them my number and I get it for £109.99?

CPW Staff confirmed all 5530's are unlocked stock that was today. I can not confirm this for online. Also if on o2 they take your number that gets passed to o2 they work out 10% of ( i believe) your last 18 months top ups and you get this credited to your payg account also so if in the last 18 months you toped up £270 you get £27 credit within 28 days not bad eh

Yes this is the cheapest touchscreen with wifi plus as mentioned it had kenetic scroling although only in music and contacts its very very nice to use one of the best non capacitive screens iv used. Also bbc iplayer support as its symbain (shows on bbc site when conected as 5800) so its great for catching up on tv. Only over wifi for this feature although should support downloading programs to handset to watch later ala 5800 style

Basicly its the same price point as an LG Pop which is a revamped cookie which has no WiFi

As this is a web only deal (CPW website says so) how can you get the phone without buying the top up sim?
Are the stores offering the same deal as the web exclusive offer?

I'll be phoning my local store later and will let you know how I get on.

Even if the offer is not on in store, just say there is a deal on their own website and they match it.

EDIT : Sorry - misinformation. I am sure on other deals the stores have matched their online offer... but it has been proved not to be in this case!

I phoned Marsh Mills Plymouth CPW and they said they cannot match, the phone in their store is £129.99 regardless of network and £10 top up required if paying by card or £20 on Virgin with cash. The guy told me the offer on the site is far too low and they couldn't possibly match it. I mentioned the top up trick-I have a sim already on the network-and people have given a number and not had to pay for credit, he said it's obligatory-or pay £200 for a sim free version. Poo. :-( I didn't try the shop in the city centre, but it won't be much of a difference if I buy the o2 version I want on their site-I'll just try and flog the sim and the credit to a family member!
#25
If you can buy instore it WILL be unlocked. CPW sell for every network so sell unbranded unlocked fones.

After speaking to my local store I'm at the same conclusion as you. The original post is incorrect as there's no way to get the phone for £99.95. To get the best prices you need to buy online and if buying online you're stuck with the top up sim credit.
I'm thinking to go for the T Mobile online deal with quidco for £104.95 and hope it isn't locked to T Mobile.
#27
Very angry right now. Have been into CPW in Woking, Told them about the deal. He even looked it up online on their computer saw what the price I quoeted and said they wouldnt match it as it's their online stock nothing to do instore. Basically it was £129.99 instore ffs. I couldnt even upgrade and keep my number as their crappy systems were down! Very unimpressed but gunna order it online now.
#28
This is not instore and they won't price match. Been to two different stores, same story

Can't believe the low heat for this. Can choose most networks. Previous price of £129+10 on Vodafone was 450 degrees and rising so this is even better.

I've ordered one, Was deliberating Samsung F5650 or F5560 which has 5mp camera @ £129+10 but very little info about. The Nokia dropped it's price so I've ordered on Talk Mobile. Shame about lack of 3G but WiFi, Symbian OS and built in BBC i-Player widget made it an excellent phone for the price.

Found 3 different cases all less than £4 delivered from shops with good reputation, just got to decide which case to buy.

I know it's surprising it's a great phone had a little play with it instore today. Can you please link me to the 3 Different Cases you saw for £4 Delivered as i'll want a case for this phone lol.

Also I managed to get this by calling through on the Main 0870 Number, Told them i'm already on 02 Unlimited and wont need another SIM to top up. He said that I could have it for £109.99 Delivered with next Day Delivery so it will be here tomorrow morning! Brilliant. He also chucked in the 02 SIM anyways but altogether bypassed the £119.99 on 02. Just call in and tell them that you already have the SIM. Cant wai to get mine tomo!

AAAARRGHHHH.......

The online sales have said that all the 5530's (all phones he said) are unlocked so I'd be as well buying the cheapest T Mobile one.

Went to do this online to get the quidco and their website doesn't accept Maestro payment

Guess I'm calling the sales chaps back again...

Does anyone know if you can hand write texts with the pen on this phone like the 5800 model or do you have to use the pen and press on each letter on the screen?

NOOOO!!!! I bought this on Vodafone (Actually unlocked) for £139.99!!! I don't regret it though, it is a fantastic phone! Anyone have any questions, feel free to give me a buzz!

This phone is definately an iPhone killer, the music quality is fantastic - better than any Sony Walkman!

Hi. You can use stylus to hand write, use number pad as usual with predictive text or use a full QWERTY keyboard :-)

So if I bought the tmobile deal for £109 when it comes I could just use my normal o2 sim card?

I want this phone ... but in white (with the blue band around the edge). Such a shame they're not offering that one. If they were I'd have snapped it up in an instant!
