To anyone that has this phone, can you tell me if it has resume play?
If you play a video or audio file, can you stop the playback & return to play the file where you stopped it next time you start the playback of the same file.
Thanks
:)

It was at this price over a month ago as I have written above and provided a link. However, they were sold out quite quickly before I had a chance to get one. Carphone warehouse have put the price up now on this phone, so this is good deal.

Hi

Not sure what you mean but I have the similar 5800 and I can pause a music file or a film, return to home screen or any other screen, make a call etc and then return back to the movie or music file where I paused it. No problem.

Hope this helps.

£100 for this phone is a steal compared to others available. Just remember to update the software (easy) and don't expect too much from the Nokia (Ovi) store. Apple Apps store it is not!

5800 Phone comes with full sat nav, decent internet ( if use Opera from Ovi store) Email use is great. Music player is very good quality sound and the camera (stills & movies) is fine. I think this is very similar?

Just a heads up for people..

Do not confuse this with the 5800.

Nokia confirmed it has no UMTS / HSDPA.
If you want to surf the mobile is of course a clear downside.
Similarly, no GPS on board.
When 5530 is “only” a 4GB card in, the 5800 had 8GB of memory.
And has the display from the 5530 “only” 2.9 “compared to the 3.2″ from the 5800th.

What about kinetic scrolling in 5800? Nokia has stil no plans of giving K.S in 5800 while 5530 is already having this great feature.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
The reason I asked about playback was because I am using an LG Cookie at the moment, & if I'm going from bus to bus, or train to whatever, I can't return to a movie file because there is no way to bookmark a video file.
You can't set the playback to start at a set time point, the only way to forward is to drag a slider & hope you can find the same point you left it.
I tried to just pause the file, but doing that kills the battery quicker than playing the file.
:?

ATM I'm carrying around an mp3 player as well as a phone (a phone that has a bigger screen than the mp3 player) because of stop/start playing of files while travelling around.

I like the touchscreen on my phone, & as the Nokia has a proper headphone socket, this looks like a better mobile.
I don't use a mobile for surfing, just calls, the odd text & video/audio playback
Thanks again
