Phones4U are currently doing the Nokia 5800 Xpress in Black/Silver colour on the Orange Dolphin £30pm tariff. It's an 18 month contract automatically discounted by £10pm for the term of the contract, hence £20pm.

I know a very similar deal was posted recently through Dial-a-phone but there was a mixed response regarding their customer service. I've never used Phones4U so cannot vouch for them myself, however I guess at least they have a High Street presence, to help with any issues, etc.

Also I personally think the 5800 looks best in the Black/Silver colour, and I think this colour is exclusive to Orange for some reason?

Oh yeah, £30 quidco cashback available.

The Virgin deal is a stonking offer for this phone. If you want more talk time on Virgin just install Fring and make all your calls via the web. I went for that over this.
#3
Virgin = Tmobile though, so it's not one of the proper networks like Orange.

T-mobile's got pretty decent reception AFAIK, not quite as wide as Voda, but almost...

I think that Virgin deal expired on the 10th.

I got this phone when I saw the dialaphone offer but I rang Orange direct to see if they could beat it. After haggling I managed to get 800 minutes, unlimited texts and 80mb anytime web for the life of the 18 month contract for £19.57. As I mostly use the wifi for any web stuff, 80mb is fine for me.
I then rang up for my hubby a week later to try and get the same deal and he got 600 minutes, unlimited text, unlimited anytime web for £19.47 per month but it was a 24 month contract. I think this is too long but he really wanted to unlimited data so he was fine with the 24 months. Pays to ring them direct and don't take the first offer they make you.
With my phone, they didn't offer the anytime web data at first but I said I wanted more than 2 months free (which came with the phone anyway) and they went away and came back with a better offer.

It is if you go for the 150 min / 500 text version for £18.

I was about to go for the Virgin deal until I realised that it's just a 1GB / month allowance on the 'unlimited' data.

edit. Oh and the 30p/day thing is for 25mb/day.

It's 3gb (see 'Legal Stuff'). I went for it and am dead pleased - didn't like it at first, having had an iphone but it's a real grower. I was sceptical at first, very tempted as i was by Android and WM6.5 but this represented a bargain phone and tariff (and I had respect for the first Xpress Music handset). Admittedly the browser is not as good as mobile Safari, lacking specifically pinch zoom (lack of capacitive screen) and the kinetic type scrolling (may come in future firmware). But, give it a day to get the phone working your way and with some nice themes and it's a nice bit of kit - a good bridge between S60 and an iPhone for much much less. Capacitive screens may be good for this but the phones that carry them are at a premium. The screen is very nice though and iplayer downloads are excellent. Coupled with the Virgin tariff it's a steal.

Incidentally although the Virgin tariff offer is over, you can still get it but you have to pay £25+p&p for the phone.

Are the minutes and texts on this deal cross network anytime minutes/texts? I have not had a contract before so do not want to get caught out!

Where you with Orange already? I am not and I have tried a couple of different operators on the phone this morning with no luck even coming close. Will give it another bash though...

Okay, 3rd time lucky perhaps...I got the same deal as Pruney's OH for £2.50 more. I really wanted the unlimited date so I am okay with the price tbh. Never done Orange before nor contract come to think of it so slightly nerve wracking committing to something for that long but I like the phone and I shan't be needing to spend money on 2 phones as I currently do topping up. Not sure which of my number to transfer over....
