**UPDATE - handset I received was not SIM locked- Yay **
Yet another Nokia 5800 deal.
I think it's pointless having a phone with all these networked capabilities without having unlimited Internet on top - So I searched though all the deals on these pages and many more and think this is the best deal going.

T-Mob combi 30 300mins 200 TXT + unlimited Internet (web & walk) 12 month deal.
35 per month - 140 cashback + 40 quidco giving an effective price of 240 for the year.
Company is owned by CPW and have never had issues getting cashback from them.
I ordered mine today and the 40 quidco tracked after a few mins.
Add the code and you get a free bluetooth drive kit (whatever that is !!)
I guess the miseries on here will vote it down, but it may be of use for any of you looking for a good deal on this great phone.
Follow link - click on 12m tarrifs - you will find deal 2nd from bottom - select 8m half price as gift.

T-Mobile is a shocking network in fairness..

Have to say - I have had 2 separate w& w contracts over the last 2 years and apart from that one outage when they lost their authentication servers for a couple of hours and almost every TM user was cut off I have never had a problem.
My mate at work has had a web only TM card in his Dell laptop with built in hsdpa and he gets a fantastic download speed.
They wrote to him because he went miles over the 3Gb/m for 3 months on the trot but it was quite a polite note that he ignored and they never bothered him again.
I have been with 3 for many years and over the last 3 years that has in my opinion gone way downhill and I haven't had much success with Voda due to ports apparently being blocked.
I can assure you I wouldn't have had a third term with TMobile if they had not performed well - just a shame that their loyalty department can't give deals like this.
Just my opinion - Scoob :p

I usually don't stick up for big companies but after 12yrs with O I went to T-Mobile. And I have to say is they have bee brilliant. When I have had a handset fault they have sent a prepaid jiffy bag to get it fixed the next day and recently my £10 discount on my renewed W&W contract ended after month 12 on an 18month contract. I called up to complain but before I got that far the Cust Service lady agreed it was cheeky to only give me the £10 off for 12 months so she immediately renewed the £10 discount and refunded the £10 I had paid.

I have never had any problem with them. And also note that T-Mobile and Three are merging their 3G networks so you will get even better coverage when it happens.

Good Deal

BUT... I get way better.... I have a new loyalty contract with vodafone.
I get a free nokia 5800.
Contract is for 12 months. For £20 per month, I get 900 mins crossnetwork to mobiles, Unlimited landline calls, 500 texts and Unlimited internet.

12months x £20 = £240

But I get a lot more bang for my buck!

Unfortunately, I dont think everyone can get this as I have been with voda for quite long and so they gave me a great deal!

good deal i have been looking for something with unlimtted internet as that would be my main reason to buy this phone

Unlimited (cough) Internet on Vodafone - oh dear -
"Users will be subject to a 'fair usage policy' of 500MB per month, and will be contacted if they exceed this allocation."

TMobile gives 6 times this and will only contact you if you exceed it 3 months on the trot/

T-mobile fair usage is 1GB, so only 2x not 6x.

This is a good deal, but only if you can get the cashback cheques. Also if you just want the phone to put your own simcard the term cost is £180!

Fair comment, I have just checked and it is 1GB, although I have gone way above that over the last 2 years without issue - your mileage may vary :)

From the TM site - "This plan comes with a fair use policy of 1GB a month. We'll monitor how much you send and receive each calendar month so that we can protect our network for all our web'n'walk customers. If you use more than your fair use policy amount, we won't charge you any more, but we may restrict how you can use your plan, depending on how often you go over your amount and by how much."

My phone should come today - I'm sooooooooo excited :)

£35 per month is a shocking amount of money to pay for any phone, so is £20 or even £15 or £10. Any contract to me is also bad news.

I use PAYG and my phone costs very little. And as the thing has WiFi I do all the net stuff for free though that. WiFi in the office, WiFi at home, WiFi at the shops and hotels and yesterday, free WiFi on the train all the way to York.

If I do happen to know I will be somewhere and I will need internet access over 3G or 3.5G then I can text 'WEB' to T-Mobile on 441and get 5 days fair use unlimited for £2.50. If it's an emergency and it's a rare occasion when there I can't wait for WiFi then data usage charges are capped at £1 per day anyway.

So, my phone use costs peanuts. No contract, does everything I need.

But, having said all that, if this deal suits your own circumstance then hot. Thanks to OP for researching and posting.

Just did the same - sweet.
Quidco tracked in about 2 minutes flat.

My only nagging worry is the cashback - as have a few problems in the past with CPW

Though, to be fair, after haggling they have always coughed.

Thanks for putting this deal up.

I have been waiting to get a 5800.

Now I'll probably use about 1 tenth of it's features.

Thanks You for a good find

Bobef - According to my calculations you just send off the top 3 sheets of the following bills -
Aug 09
Oct 09
Dec 09
Feb 10
Set urself up with google calendar and paste those dates in - you have 30 days after the bill date.
Plus it would appear that you dont need transaction numbers coupons or anything else - bills can be copied or printed off tinternet.

Mine arrived just after 9 this morning - it's amazing - far better display than N95 N96 etc. I already love it to bits. Tons of accessories, plus spare stylus and the free-gift rechargeable bt headset kit with mains and car chargers and phone holder turned up also.

Tip - I had problems getting the back cover off to get the battery fitted - in fact I was worried I might break it. I found that lifting the bottom of the cover slightly then running my nail around to release all the catches was the easiest.

Have fun - you will love it :p

Sounds like a good deal.
According to T-Mobile (http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/mobile-phones/price-plans/pay-monthly/combi/plans/), voicemail is not included in inclusive mins and charged at 12p/min.

Thanks Scoop
I am looking forward to getting it now.

Have you ported a number accross for it?

I don't know how long that takes - Can I use the SIM with it in the meantime?

Well done mate

Can anyone link to the deal for me please? The closest i can find is 12 months, £35 / month but only £40 cashback, have they changed the offer or am i not looking properly?

Some enforce the fair usage more than others, but three and t-mob are 1GB, Vodafone 500mb and O2 and Orange 200mb and 250mb respectively.

You would struggle to use all 1GB in a month for purely browsing. It's great to have internet on your tariff it comes in handy all the time.

I still can't believe how cheap this phone is though, still trying to get my head around it.
Just wish to plonkers on ebay would realize this and stop paying more than £220 for it, as you can buy on PAYG for £220.

Just tried an Orange sim in it and it worked fine - so I guess it is not sim locked - hurray:thumbsup:

Forgive me me for being thick, but who is this deal with CPW or mobiles.co.uk?

*EDIT* It's okay I've worked it out, it's mobiles.co.uk (owned by CPW). There is also a slightly more expensive deal with 500mins and 375 texts and month, which works out at £260 for the year after all the deductions. Heavier users could use that.

Anyone worked out exactly how do you use the supplied sleeve/case - and what is the purpose of the holes on the front (back?) and the small hole at the end?
Whichever way I attach it it looks like it is bending the keys, then it's a right game trying to get the phone out again - it also pulls the screen-lock switch on or off.
Also is there any way to use the phone in the sleeve - e.g. answering calls etc.
It's such a brill phone I dont want to scratch or break anything.

AM I upset - I wanted my new toy today.

AM I sad or what!

Sorry to hear that - I would be gutted :x

Phone up and find out whats happening - could it be due to the weather??
#29
I put Google maps on it last night - it links in with the integral GPS system, triangulates with the nearest GSM masts and uses A-GPS if you have an Internet connection.
Its just amazing. Found my location really fast and with the satellite vie could even see which 2 cars were parked on my drive.
Best phone I have ever used

Stock Nokia box - no mention of TM.
Stock Nokia software - no mention of TM
Tested with Orange SIM - works a treat, so not SIM Locked.

I wonder if the Vodafone, 02 and Virgin deals are the same - I doubt it very much

Result !!!

This deal seems to good to be true. Is the only catch the chance that the cashback won't go through? I've never had a contract before, does failure to get advertised cashback happen a lot or is doing it with a reputable company with stores such as CPW a lot more reliable?

I have used CPW companies for over 5 years with around 4 contracts running at once for the whole family. Never ever had a problem with them - touches wood!!
I think they are a reputable company - by Royal appointment and sponsor of BB etc.

I will refrain from slagging off the competition - you check them out yourself, but I wouldn't buy a CB deal from anywhere else.

I expect a number of these cashback companies to go to the wall during the difficult period ahead however I think CPW is the stongest because it doesn't rely solely om mobile sales, it makes a bundle from talk-talk and broadband so I recon it will be the last to go, if at all.

Whilst I generally agree with what you are saying Mobiles.co.uk is a limited company .....it is part of the CPW group but that doesn't necessarily mean that if this company went bust that you would still get your cash back via the CPW.

Well thats how I believe limited companies work.

Cheers.
#39
I think you will find that most PLC's own sub-companies that are LTD. I think it would be difficult to put a sub-company into receivership leaving the debtors unpaid whilst the plc continues trading.
I'm no expert in this but have worked for many plc's that have a whole list of ltd's under them (they are normally listed out in the reception or near the HO front door.)

-Scoob
#40
I really don't think CPW would be liable for the debt if this company went pop....that's the whole point of a limited company as i see it....

Limited liability companies
Limited companies exist in their own right. This means the company's finances are separate from the personal finances of their owners.

Shareholders may be individuals or other companies. They are not responsible for the company's debts unless they have given guarantees (of a bank loan, for example).

Anyway enough of that can you tell me if this phone has java ...I use a few websites that need this to run properly?

Also is the stylus housed in the phone as from the pictures I can't see where it would live?

Cheers.
