Heat Added.

I am really tempted to buy this.

I was ready to buy the one on play, but i waited so i could buy a varsity card and get a further 5% off. But the card came yesterday and not only was it now expired for play.com but also the price had gone up.

This looks like a really good price, but before i buy im gonna see if there are any discount codes around and also see how much it would cost to get the phone working on O2.

Iv heard people say that some t-mobile phones come unlocked, any chance if you know if these do?

so far just the usual pay £20 and get it unlocked.

im going through the very long thread about the O2 deal as im sure someone said on there they paid £6 to get it unlocked from someone on ebay. If i can find it ill get the info and pass it on to you.

The number provided on the o2 thread, I called it as I purchased this phone from play. The guy is really helpful, asks for 6 quid if he can get you a code but unfortunately for me, he couldnt get an unlock code for my imei number. Perhaps someone else will be more successful.

could you please forward me his details. I know i have come across a thread where someone talked about getting it doen off ebay cheaply and i have been searching for it for the last 30 mins and cannot find it.

Otherwise it looks like ill have to pay the £15-20 to get it unlocked -but i really dont wanna pay that much

Also remeber that you can get 3% cashback from TopCashBack
and there are Triple Nectar Points (through nectar retailers online) giving 6 points per £1.

Selling for about £190 on ebay so a good deal. Phone looks cheap and out of date in my opinon I would want this closer to £100.

I picked one up a few weeks ago on Virgin Mobile. Its good but not great. A few issues I have with it;

Huge front screen with little to put on it.
Front screen doesn't adjust to landscape (annoying when using it in the car)
As yet no concrete divx support
Very poor battery

On the plus side the sat nav is great, and headphones with built in cntrols are really good.

Why don't you guys try using one of these little sim adapters. I have been using one on a Nokia N70 for over year with no problem. At approx £2.50 delivered they can also be passed from phone to phone. They normally take about a week to arrive from China. There are several different types on the site but these appear to be the latest Nokia ones although mine works with loads of phones. You just slip it between your sim and the contacts and its unlocked. I have found no problems using an Asda sim (Vodafone but 8p min P-a-y-g) on an Orange locked phone. I use 3g on Web and all usual things

Would agree - would not pay more than £100 for this - the rate that its dropping in price would suggest that Nokia are aware of its correct price point aswell. I'm sure it will be available at £99 in or around January . Apparent you can get the new 6700 of fleabay for not much more - i would suggest that as a more sensible alternative.

do you get the 8gb micro sd card included with this deal?

It is a an awesome phone, I got mine unlocked for £5, I got mine for £159.99 from Play, on Voda last week. The new software update which most phones don't come with, makes it much faster.
It's not like the other touch screens that cost about £100, because it has wifi, the wifi feature makes it awesome, going to the toilet is so much better than having a big old netbook on your lap, watching bbc iplayer while dropping the kids off at the pool, fantastic.

I have used the samsung I8910 HD, Jet, iPhone & HTC Hero, these are all better phones, but will set you back about £400 - £500, The Nokia 5800, is not too far behind and worth the money.
It's three times cheaper, and I'd only say the iphone is worth about £75-£100 more (Cause of the multitouch and hard screen). So it's deffinately good value for money, and I wouldn't bothered getting robbed by buying one of the high end phones, or waste your money on a low end one, this is a great mid-range phone, but for a low price.
