Nokia 5800 + 10 months half price @ Vodaphone (NOT redemption)

I got this deal a while ago and thought it was cracking when you also consider the £90 TopCashBack

From the Vodafone Website:
Tap straight into your favourite tracks and videos with the Nokia 5800. One touch of the high definition screen and you're in entertainment heaven. And superfast internet access makes downloads a breeze.

Better still, it's only £17.50 for the first 10 months - then £35 for the next eight months of your 18 month plan. That's a saving of £175.

It's hard to take your eyes (or fingers) off the pin-sharp touch screen. Rotate the phone for full widescreen fun. Tap out texts on the QWERTY keyboard. Or simply let the 5800 recognise your handwriting. Genius.

Ready for entertainment? One touch of the Nokia 5800's media bar transports you to the thick of it - with powerful surround speakers and glorious widescreen images. It's practically Glastonbury in your pocket.

Hah, I got this phone in March last year for £20 a month, 18 months contract, 600 minutes, 500 txts, unlimited internet and phone for free. Can't believe that there aren't offers that are loads better available yet.

Phone is alright. Screen is good for videos, mobile browsing is best I have seen on a phone in this price range, and speaker is really loud and decent quality.

The Symbian OS is really showing it's age though, it looks ancient compared to the iTouchOS, android, and even WM6.5.

I got this very deal during the summer and I'm still very happy with it. The phone was good until last week when it became great with free tv and free sat nav...

Whats this about free TV? I saw (and got) the free sat nav mapping, but havent seen anything about the TV. Can you send a link please?

BTW I really like this phone, it seems to do most things very well.

The free tv is through the use of a mobile web browser, Skyfire

It supports flash 10 which allows you to watch tv through tvcatchup.com

I utterly utterly despise this phone

I got it from the Very/Marshall Ward mega deal on PAYG

Where do I start

Not a bad phone, but not in the same class as the Hero I have now.

Not particularly impressed with this deal either sorry..

I've just got this phone and, to be honest, it was probably the best phone on offer with the features it had for the price. I didn't want to be paying £35 a month (regardless of cash back/redemption) and wanted to match the £15 I normally paid for PAYG. Anyway, mine was O2 - 24months, £15p/m, 100 minutes, unlimited texts.

I didn't really want this phone to begin with, but when you look for features, it ticks all the boxes. Yes, I'd rather have something better (ideally I wanted an iPhone or Palm Pre), but not at the monthly price they charge! I know the O2 deal isn't unlimited internet, but I really use the phone more connected to wi-fi, so it's free anyway.

Bigger, slightly older now, but it has all the things you're looking for in one of the more expensive models.

Nokia have just updated the mapping software on their phones which provides full satnav capabailites as standard now. Other phones require you to pay for this, so this may be a factor in your decision.

Hi can anyone tell me if vodafone will charge me for internet usage on this deal? Also whether the phone can be used at wifi hotspots? I am currently trying to navigate my way around vodafone website for this info but not having much luck... Many thanks in advance for any help with this!
