Been looking for a leather case for my Nokia and ordered this one from Deal Extreme on Friday as it was cheap.

Usually the quality isn't the best for cases I've ordered before from them, even though they are cheap as chips.

Got it delivered today and the quality is amazing. It also looks good and fits the 5800 like a glove. Just plop your 5800 in the holding inside and it's properly secure. Magnetic clip on the case and just open it to access your phone.

I'd go as far as saying it's the best case I've ordered from DE.

Thought I'd pass the bargain on. ;)

Is it actually leather? What DX describe as leather is often plastic leatherette...

Don't think it is, but the quality is fantastic and very solid. Doesn't smell either. :-D

I got mine for my Omnia this morning too, brilliant quality and I got the white Omnia so I was happy to get a white case. Hang on I will sniff mine but it has been inside a leather handbag all day so I guess it will have picked up the smell anyway so no point lol.

Most likely 'PU' leather ( polyurethane).
#11
Ordered. Seems like a good deal. Head added!

BTW These are top quality as OP said.... I was at my old wholesaler last week (Mobile gear) and bought 2 the exact same.... Top quality and fit's your 5800 like a glove.... £1.50 they cost me, but you will find these RRP ing at £7.99 +

Grab them from DX quick.... Only think I can say is if you like a belt clip etc then dont go for this....

But they do the job perfectly.....

Just to let you all know, I ordered this case a couple of months back. As you can see from the photo the small magnetic/flap that holds the main front flap of the case shut is badly designed. In that having the case closed with the flap down will cover the headphone socket so you can't listen to your music with earphones. You can use a hole punch and make a hole in the center of the flap as I have done, which works a treat. Just be warned, but otherwise a pretty good case for the money and does the job. I've already dropped my phone a few times already and its been protected, so no damage.

Forgot to say, FocalPrice do similar stock to DX, but slightly cheaper on some items. If you don't like the style on DX there may be an alternative at FocalPrice.

Thats a pity.... My Magnetic clip is offset so it misses the camera lens and you can still plug a headset in when closed etc....

If anyone needs a pic of the top of mine, I can post one up etc....

Is this really any better than the case that comes with the 5800, which by the way, I find extremely annoying because you can't see who is calling? Also, it doesn't appear to protect the camera lens, but looks like you would have to take it out the case to take a pic??

Similair to this is mine etc

PS A lot of people buying clearance handsets at £129 never got a case, these are ideal....

Anyone spotted a side opening case for the 5800? I prefer to hold my 5800 like a book in one hand rather than having a long cover hanging out.
#19
thanks OP for that, I got mine brand new and didn't get a case either

I thought that I would like a side opening one too - until I thought about how it would actually work. Unless you took the phone out of the case or bent the the 'flap' 180 degrees everytime you made a phonecall it would look quite silly.
#21
Also you guys might want to order this at the same time?

Screen protector for 90 cents is pretty good value as it includes delivery....

I disagree. I have a left opening case for my ITouch. I hold it in my right hand all the time and it looks like a small note pad with a clip flap. On the 5800, all of the action buttons are on the right side and top so holding it in your right hand gives you thumb control for the buttons.
#23
The side opening is not the best.... Most people I have seen using them have the flap over their face whilst talking.... Looks a tad daft :)

Hanging down the way is slightly better (The flap I mean) :)

You would naturally fold the flap all the way around for talking.

Heat and Rep, OP.

Bought one of these for a quid in Hong Kong really can't complain about quality for the price would recommend these
#28
Can't complain about the price, but the casing has broken off on mine so although phone is protected having to use a rubber band to stop it falling out of phone cover
#29
The phone cover and price is nice. but the side casing has broken off. I think it is too tight to hold the phone and just broke off within two months

mine broke!
