Since the Mobiles.co.uk deal I had ordered from went out of stock I started looking for deals myself, and found this.

Nokia 5800 (RED)
T-Mobile Combi 30 + Web and Walk = 300mins, 200txts, Unlimited Web (1gb FUP).

You get 6 months free via redemption on a nice short 12 Month Contract, and £20 cashback through Quidco.

So the total cost is £195.50 for the year, which works out at £16.30 a month.

To save any confusion here is some details about the fair use policy taken from the T-Mobile site. I think 1gb will be plenty for browsing etc, and I'll save my downloads for the home PC.

T-Mobile Website
This plan comes with a fair use policy of 1GB a month. We'll monitor how much you send and receive each calendar month so that we can protect our network for all our web'n'walk customers. If you use more than your fair use policy amount, we won't charge you any more, but we may restrict how you can use your plan, depending on how often you go over your amount and by how much.

I would be interested to know why people are voting this deal cold.

good price however the claim terms are quite complicated and require the original bills or copies of. Tmob will try and put you on internernet billing so make sure you requesr the paper bills also. You will love this phone - l am using mine at this very moment. Scoob :p
#3
Thanks for the heads up about the paper bills.

FYI - Quidco just tracked for my order.
#4
Looks like a good deal to me.
#5
Thanks for the advice reg the paper bills :-) mine has als tracked on quidico

Not sure as I gcould have taken the risk for the 6mth cash back as if the company goes belly up you'd be stuck with a large bill but might be worth the risk

They've been around a while and look like they are doing well, I am confident they will be around in a year.

Also plenty of good reviews over at MSE, http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=155535&page=14

Any Idea How quick they are e.g. 2 days to sort the order then next day delivery?
#8
I have been told I should have mine tomorrow. Fingers crossed they were right.

I'll keep you updated.
#9
How do they get away calling this unlimited when its only 1Gb and you are then charged for further usage?

Not sure where you got that info from, but I have just copied this from the T-Mobile site:

Just spotted the terms and conditions

1.4. We aim to process and despatch all orders as quickly as possible - usually within two working days. Business orders may take longer due to verification and credit checking processes.

order by 14:30 for free next day delivery

Is that something you have seen on the website?

Just found this in the FAQ's

4) When will I receive my goods?
Subject to credit checks being carried out for contract phones, as long as your order is received before 2.30 pm your order will be despatched for next working day delivery.

When I spoke to them they said something about the weather ( ) and doing T-Mobile credit cheques taking a long time.

I want my phone :viking:

Mobile Phone Contracts - We endeavour to despatch orders placed before 2.30pm the same day as they are ordered, for next working-day delivery. Orders placed after 2.30pm may still receive next-day delivery, otherwise they will be delivered within two working days. Our preferred delivery method is 'Royal Mail Special Delivery', guaranteed by 1pm the next-day (excluding Sunday). Heavier items may be dispatched using 'City Link Next-day Delivery' (excluding Saturday & Sunday) for delivery by 5pm (not guaranteed). Other couriers or delivery services may be used at our discretion.

Hi, have never had a contract before but this seems very reasonable. This is the best deal I can see for the 5800. What I was wondering is, as I believe it to be, that they send you a voucher shortly after the phone arrives which you then have to send off along with your 5 bills at the appropriate times, as spelled out in the terms and conditions. Is this correct? Thanks
#20
Order Shipped on 10th Feb 2009 at 16:30:thumbsup:

Seem they had a problem with my name and T-mobile not beliveing me

I wouldn't mind I allready have another T-mobile contarct with the exact same name

Fingers crossed it will be worth the wait :-D

This is better though:
http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_contract_details.asp?ItemKey=240325&MPItemKey=250427&NetKey=3

12 Month Contract @ £30pm

300 Minutes
200 Texts

£195 back by redemption plus another £30 back through quidco

12*30 = £360 - £195 -£30 = £135
#25
Moviestar

12 Month Contract @ £30pm

300 Minutes
200 Texts

£195 back by redemption plus another £30 back through quidco

12*30 = £360 - £195 -£30 = £135

So that works out at £11.25/month.

At that price even I am tempted to get this and I pretty much detest mobile phones (but need one for emergencies).

last thursday call phones 4 u. they said this deal handest may take 3-5 working days to deliver coz of popular. so i had to go with mobiles.co.uk deal which is bit expensive than this.

Are these cash back things save?

What happens if the reseller goes bankrupt? Will T-Mobile insist on fulfilment of the contract, without the possibility of getting ones cashback?
#29
Lookng here you can get the phone with 300 anytime minutes, 200 texts on T-Mobile with £195 cash back bringing this deal in at £157.32 for the min term of conract - 12 months. No web browsing added but it's from phones4u so should be reliable too.

It works out as I just checked :o

Deal is £29.36 a month before any cash back so £29.36 x 12 months = £352.32 BEFORE cash back

With cash back it is £352.32 - £195 from phones4u = £157.32 total over 12 months?

Same deal! i think what has happened is the link you provided has the monthly charge with the reduced VAT taken off, the link in post 25 will take it off when you go through to the checkout.

You can just print the online bill. They don't need an original or perfect copy, they just want to be able to see you are still with them and still paying.

Is this phone shipped locked or unlocked??

Some of the less reputable cash back shops used to force you to send originals and if you didn't you lost ALL future cash back pamyents and I got burned with one such company :x

Good point actually. I only consider these deals if they are from phones4u or carphone warehouse (or their various online sites), which although are strict with redemption dates etc., are fair with regards to bill copies.
