What are phone4u like with their cashbacks, anyone had any major issues with them ?
#4
You don't get any money back in your pocket for a year after you start paying!!! That's like buy now pay next year, but pay now claim your money back next year!

I assume they are ok as they are a big national company with stores everywhere. I have just taken out the nokia 6300 on vodafone with them so I hope they're ok. The t&c's have changed recently tho meaning that if you get one claim wrong you lose the whole lot! There's other stuff in there like you have to use the network otherwise you could lose your cashback, don't leave the sim in a drawer!

Where'd you get that? I just saw the offer on their site but can't see where these details are, there's not 18 months free link to click like usual.

True ..

Gone are the days when mobile sites showed any consideration. As more and more people started claiming cashback (thanks to forums like HUKD), the T&C's have turned even tougher. Carphone Warehouse is the only site with descent T&C's but their deals are not that good.

3 website do auto cashback on quite a few of their deals, I got a N80 half price for 18 months £17.50/month 750 mins xnet etc with £100 quidco. They could gain quite a lot of customers l if the other retailers continue getting mean with their terms and conditions

Have you got the link where it states that in their t&c I can't seem to find it.

The way they’ve been behaving lately they will send you this about 30 days after your phone arrives when it’s too late to cancel. They do state the facts in their general T&Cs: http://www.phones4u.co.uk/help/faq-cash-back-and-redemptions.asp
The T&Cs linked to the actual deal are vague though.

For me this deal is as cold as putting my balls in a bucket of ice. :w00t:

Good deal apart from not getting your money back until really late, I mean after 12 months you should get your first cheque back and it'll be for less than the first months payment! And obviously by that point you'll have already paid for at least 12 months!
#16
After the fiasco of the Nokia 6300, the false credit check scenario, and the change in the terms and conditions part way through, I wouldn't consider Phones 4 U. Having noticed some increases on Quidco for some of the other Mobile companies who offer similar deals, but pay up sooner, they will be who I look to. Sorry Phones4u but once bitten

and its a clearance phone so if you wanted to keep an old phone and sell this on ebay you wouldn't make as much (good £90 for a 6300) and that would pay for 6 months rental in case they decided not to honour a cashback.
#17
Last week I got the Nokia 6300 offer (free for 12 months on a 12 months contract + £60 Quidco). After reading their cashback T&Cs, I decided to return the phone.

Is this correct as I applied for the Voda contract and when I rang them up, they staed that I had faild a credit check. This is pure bull as I never fail a credit check and also work in a bank! Anyway, I will get in touch with experian, pay £2 and find out what went wrong...:x

Save your £2. They did this to a number of people with the Nokia 6300 deal. It turned out to be that they never did the credit check.

If anyone is after a Nokia 6300, E2save are doing doing it on T-Mobile now. I have posted the info here:

Agreed, phone phones4u instead and ask for a manual check, still a good deal if you can get the original t&c's.
#25
Since it's a price match offer are the t&c normally the same as other companies i.e fail to make a claim on time and you cannot make any subsequent claims ? or is this not the case with e2save price match plans ?

Yes, they have very similar T&Cs (e.g. miss one claim and you loose the rest).

i was told its vodafone that do the credit check ( thats the one that a lot failed with) so i dont see how phonesnot4u can do a manual check and force vodafone to take on a new customer

Just a sample of the t&c's: There are more so look at the help section on the phones4u web-site for more details.

If you're like 90% of people then no credit check ever took place. Phone vodafone to check but they'll probably just get annoyed with you as you wont even be on their system. Phone phones4u and ask for a manual credit check to be done as most people failed because of a system problem. Most people passed after the manual check including me!!!

I really don't understand what you have said there.

What has a double meaning, all the t&c's seem pretty clear to me.

With e2save pricematch deals if you miss one claim you lose them all.
With the recent phones4u deals like this one if you miss one claim you lose them all.

Just went to order, appears to have expired! Should have ordered earlier!

Just tried again and it appears to be working now, maybe just a glitch!

This is still available. :)
