Right this is a 'flippin' cracker. Not really a fan of clams - unless it's of the bearded variety - but you just cant say no to this one...

Who wants a mobile phone with the latest operating system - same as the N95 in fact - with 500 mins and 250 texts all for free?

I've used phonebox direct for the past few years and had ZERO problems with cash back.

This is one of only a few phones that has the S60 3rd Edition'Feature Pack 1' installed on it. This means that you'll be able to upgrade it when other feature packs become available.

Even some of the other N or E series do not have this!

To quickly sum up the spec -

3G, Quad-band GSM/EDGE, HTML Browser, Bluetooth version 2.0, Music player supporting MP3, MP4, and eAAC+, Stereo speakers, Push email and support for (PDF, PPT, Word, and Excel), 2.5mm headphone socket

You left out the name of the tea lady that works in the marketing department at Nokia in the listing. More info please.

It's Hilda Nambarrie

Anybody care to explain why this is deal is being rated so poorly?

The phone looks good (basically its an N75). The term cost is £0 after cashback (and £30 via Quidco, yes?). The retailer appears to be as good as any other at processing cashback deals.

Am I missing something?

Because the post is too long? It's not necessary to post all of that information. Information should be pertinent and if anyone's interested they can find out the further information from the link. Just my 2c.

Seems ok, phone looks good. I assume it's the best phone they have on offer, they seem to have about 500 12 months free offers at the moment which smells a little fishy to me. Not too sure how they are at paying cashback, anyone with any experience out there?

£30 quidco if it hasn't been mentioned yet.

EDIT - Agreed, post is too long. Although I only read the top bit as I'm not interested in the finest details of the phone!

t&c's look to be the same as e2save's ones although that's because they pricematch.

£201 to £600 claims

Instalment 1: - Send us the claim form and original monthly bill showing your name, address, mobile number and tariff you are connected on, that arrives showing you have been connected for 4 months. i.e. if you were connected on the 1st of January, you need to send in the bill that is dated around the 1st of May. This is 120 days (4 months) after connection. See porting below

Instalment 2: - Send us the claim form and original monthly bill showing your name, address, mobile number and tariff you are connected on, dated 180 days (6 months) after connection.

Instalment 3: - Send us the claim form and original monthly bill showing your name, address, mobile number and tariff you are connected on, dated 240 days (8 months) after connection.

Porting (keeping your old number)
When making the first instalment claim at 120 days, with a PORTED number, we need in addition to the standard requirements above, a copy of the first bill showing the original number we supplied to you.

Claiming
The claims address is on the cash back claim form we sent to you by email when you ordered your handset. Please return only one claim per envelope as we shred everything else we receive.

Receipt Notification
We will email you when your redemption paperwork is loaded onto our system and when it is processed for payment. it takes upto 14 working days from receipt to load and 28 working days from receipt to process. Hotmail and AOL have a tendency to regard this kind of email as spam, so please add [email protected]">[email protected] to your authorised user list.

Returning Originals
Sorry but we are not able to return originals. So please take a copy for your records.

Disconnection
If you disconnect for any reason within 180 days of the initial bill, Mobile Media Systems will invoice you the minimum sum of £200 plus VAT per handset. The actual charge invoiced, will be calculated on the basis of the tariff selected at the time of disconnection.

Confirmed disconnections through Mobile Media Systems customer care department, arising during the initial 7-day money back guarantee period are the only exceptions to the above clause. All cash back claims become null and void if you are disconnected within the contract period.

Tariff Change
If you change the tariff you selected on your Mobile Media Systems Deal within 180 days of your initial bill, we will invoice you with the minimum sum of £100 plus VAT per handset. All cash back claims become null and void if your tariff is changed within the contract period.

Direct Debit
Your contract includes a mandatory direct debit arangement, where your monthly line rental and charges will be taken from your bank. If this is cancelled, we will invoice you £50 plus VAT.

Should you have supplied us with your credit or debit card details you hereby expressly authorise us to deduct the above amounts from your card account in the event of the above tariff change, disconnection or cancellation conditions occurring. We will advise you in writing of any charges, should they occur.

Please be aware
Our offers are some of the best in the industry and rely on administration to be kept to a bare minimum; therefore it is your responsibility to follow the following redemption requirements:
All of the information required to claim is supplied to you during the sale process.
It is your responsibility to:

a) Record the order reference number that we give you at point of purchase.

b) Record the overall cash back amount that you have as a part of your purchase.

c) Record the dates above at which you are eligible to claim.

d) To print off the claim form we send you by email at the point of purchase.

e) Return the correctly completed form within the prescribed time.

All claim information is supplied to you at the point of purchase. However to assist, we do hold your data on our system, for ten working days after your connection. Unfortunately we do not have the resource to answer queries outside this timeframe.
email: - [email protected]">[email protected]

Where a valid claim has not been received by us within one calendar month of the required bill, which is the closing date for your claim. You will not be entitled to any part of the Cash Back offered. Cash back files are closed and cannot be reopened in these cases.

Administration charges
Due to the number of early claims, duplicate claims, incomplete claims and multiple claims, we will charge you £10 for each case encountered.

Multiple Claims
We do not accept more than one claim per envelope. We are looking for one correct claim per envelope and we shred all further paperwork. You risk losing your claim altogether if you adopt this practice and the excess paperwork is shredded.

Cheque Payments
We try to settle valid claims by cheque within 45 working days of receipt, directly to your home address using the account details supplied with your original order. If a cheque we send to you is lost in the post, we will check with our bank that it hasn't been cashed and we will replace this cheque after it has been missing for 30 days.

Change of Address
We don't have a problem with you changing your address. Please email:
[email protected]">[email protected]

Change of Name
You are not allowed to change the name of the user after connection.

Recorded Delivery
We recommend you send all claim paperwork by recorded delivery, as proof of sending is not proof of delivery. Where an item goes missing in the post and you haven't got our valid recorded delivery signature, then the item will be regarded unclaimed.

Please note, if you send recorded and it gets lost in the post then you're in big trouble!!! Send special delivery with consequential loss insurance, then if it gets lost you're covered by Royal Mail.

Just taken out a contract with Vodafone the other day, what's the chances of getting another?

a lot of people end up asking can the phone do this, can the phone do that, at least the info is there! And TBH the previous post to this made for even longer reading!! A long post doesent mean the actual offer is cold so is rather harsh. All that would have been needed if folk cant read for long was for OP to put a link to the Spec for this phone on the Nokia website. Problem solved.

I read the thread on this company and although people were a bit confused about what bill they should send most people seemed to be getting their money fine. Just worried that there are SO many 12 months free offers on their site, is that usual or is there something fishy going on?

IMO this is one of the easiest offers to understand which bill to send back, others make it very complicated but if you think about this one for a couple of minutes it's easy to work out.

Most places with decent deals have adopted that term of penalise you if you send it early, answer = don't send it early! If you're making sure you're not sending it late why not just make sure you're not sending it early at the same time? Don't they give you the date from which you can claim?

If they don't pay up within a reasonable amount of time then threaten small claims court, if that doesn't work take them to small claims court. That's the risk you take with any cashback contract so I don't see why this is any different?

Riker -

"All that would have been needed if folk cant read for long was for OP to put a link to the Spec for this phone on the Nokia website. Problem solved."

The Nokis website does NOT actually tell you the complete specs for this phone. If you have a check on various phones they tend to be a bit vague on a lot of specs.

Roko - How can you posibly send in your claim early when you have to wait on the relevant bill from your network provider? Your talking nonsense...

And yet more text to read if you feel the urge :o)

Regarding the amount of information provided...

Over the past years using this forum, it has never ceased to amaze me the amount of people who ask inane questions about this things. I thought I would show some compassion for these people and post some pertinent info to stop such questions.

Actually - of topic I know - this forum seems to be getting worse. Why post one or two word replies, with what seems to be people trying to increase their 'hotness'?

Good post Benjimoron ;o)

Thanks paolo, I think you meant thanks for the post but not sure after re-reading your post!

There was a bit too much info there but you're right that people ask silly questions so better to have the info there rather than not. People can choose whether to read it all or not for themselves, can't they?

Checked with Phonebox what this claiming early is all about, they basically said it's because people send the wrong bill. So their t&c's should say if you send the wrong bill we'll charge you £10, you can't send the claim in early as long as you're sending the correct bill. Once that arrives, send if off and you're fine!

Anyone know if you can port your existing number if you take a T-Mobile contract? On the same page as this offer is a Nokia 6300 which I fancy on T-Mobile Flext 35.
#14
Tried to take the chill off a wee bit paolo.

Just got mesel an E65 with the S60 software (dont think its got the feature pack 1 though).

Loads of software to download and having Tomtom on your phone (working with my bluetooth GPS) is uber cool:thumbsup:

Oh and the E65 has wi-fi - kitchen sinks in phones next?
#15
That was the whole point of the post - it is feature pack 1. When the other packs come out you'll be able to upgrade it - otherwise you're stuck with what you've got - including the E65

4what it's worth I think they're out of stock now but gettin more in soon - apparently...
#16
thats exactly what I'm tellin ya!

Only jokin - you are correct.

I also agree - it's not the most aesthetically pleasing brick

I have just spoken with PhoneBox on the telephone, and they say that this particular handset has been 'discontined' by them this morning.

Should I expect an email from them cancelling my order then as I got one at 1045am?

I placed an order online at about the same time (yes, despite what I was told on the telephone!).

Perhaps the person I spoke to was wrong (which wouldn't surprise me, as she didn't really sound that switched on), or perhaps they will get stock from somewhere. Most likely is that they will try to talk us into a different handset.
#20
Apparently they should be getting more stock within the next 5 days.
#21
You ungrateful bunch of losers!!!

Who gives a feck how long the first post is, if it's a good deal and you want one - Buy it. If you don't want one don't vote cold for that sake of it that just screws the system up.
#22
Has anybody who ordered one of these after they went out of stock managed to get a definitive answer from PBD as to whether they will be able to source more stock?

I have been sat on Back Order for a week, and the answers I have got from PBD have been mixed and less than convincing.
#23
I think you can safely forget about it now...

**DISCONTINUED**

Nice of them to wait about two weeks to tell us that!

I know that the PBD Sales Dept will tell you that this handset is "discontinued" if you phone to place a new order (despite it still showing as 'in stock' on their web site), but have they now told you that they will not be able to honour outstanding orders?

The last email I received said:

Our suppliers have notified us of the poor availability but do anticipate having available stock within seven days.
#25
Got a phone call last friday to advise that they wouldn't be able to fulfil my order :-(

Something of a shame, but I saw enough from PBD over the past couple of weeks to make me glad that I don't have to rely on them for cashback!

Opted for a N73 from E2Save (10 months free line rental + £36.50 Quidco).
#26
Got a call from these guys the other day just to check that we have a joint bank account and they said the phone would be with us very soon. Maybe she didn't realise that there is a stock issue but we haven't been notified that we aren't going to get it yet.
