Been along time since there was a decent handset with decent amount of minutes for a decent cashback.

700 mins should suit most people and 200 txt also. Most clearance deals lately were 200 txts or only 200 mins.

Phones4u are considered reliable for cashback.

Vodafone sends their handsets unlocked - although this may come from phones4u stock which would be unlocked in any case.

Hope this helps someone.

Its worth reading Duckmagics website, an excellent guide to cashbacks. http://www.duckythemobilehunter.com/

Also use Quidco for an extra £50, which brings the contract to basically free with £10 profit.

Vodafone Phones are LOCKED to vodafone.
Sorry to correct you. Just thought id put that in.

Vodafone will apparently give you the unlock code for free if you phone and ask

I've never done one of these cashback contract deals before. I guess I'm a little paranoid about forgetting to send back a claim form at a specific date or whatever and getting stuck with a huge bill.

Could anyone post / link specific instructions for this deal?

Cheers

Yes. Vodafone will unlock for free now on any contract phone. In the same Vodafone forum where they themselves wrote that, they also wrote "since all handses will now be coming unlocked, we will now be unlocking free of charge...".

Google is your friend.

I think the reason behind it, is some new EU legislation that is coming in or something like that.

12 Month Cheque Back Terms and Conditions

Send your 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th monthly bills within 60 days of the date stated on the relevant redemption claim form, to us and we will credit you by cheque with 25% of the total amount at each redemption period*

This will save you the stated amount over the 12 month duration of the contract.

*Approximately 25%, the combined total of all Four Cheques will be equal to the stated amount.

I managed to order this just now.

Wondering what I should do about insurance. I dont remember taking any out but I know they give you free 3 months worth of insurance, which I'll have thank you sir. However, I dont want to continue with inurance aafter that. Does anyone know if I need to cancel or if it will cease itself after 3 months ?

Thanks OP VOTED HOT A++++++++

It's very good deal...

Only problem will be porting number....Phones4U does not allow porting number to Vodafone.....

I don't see any solution of how to continue with the same number?

As we would be paying £40 a month for this, would we still get unlimited internet ... even though we get cashback ???

more info -->http://www.vodafone.com/start/media_relations/news/local_press_releases/uk_press_releases/2007/unlimited_internet.html

Skybooks, how did you find this offer. When I look on the phones4u website it is not under the "Amazing Deals" section. The reason I ask is because I will need a contract in the future but probably wont find the best one as it is not obviously advertised on the site.
#20
I would also be interested to know if this deal gives you unlimited browsing and whether or not there is any way to port your number to Vodafone.

Anyone out there have any info on these, please? Cheers!

I just rang Phones4U and they said you can't port your number to Vodafone through their website deals. You can only port to Vodafone if it is a shop deal, and the shop wont match the deal.

I don't know.. I bought this deal couple of days ago and with quidco it works out all free + £10 profit! So why go for lower tariffs? so this is prob better than the rest, unless its about how much profit you make and not the contract deal. :whistling:

Yup called and confirmed the same thing. But it's helpful to know that it's out there if you really have to pay £40pcm for contract. :thumbsup:

thats how u lot port your number:
Porting your number when buying on the website:
Following is a step-by-step guide:

1. Request your PAC number from your existing Network
2. Make a note of this PAC number
3. Select the handset and Network tariff and place your order
4. Once you have passed your security and credit check you will be sent your new phone which will include instructions of how to connect your phone
5. Once connected, you will be given a temporary mobile number
6. You must then contact your new Network or Service Provider quoting; your temporary number, the number you wish to Port and this number’s PAC
7. Your existing number will then be transferred within 5-7 working days
8. Your temporary number will continue to work on your new handset until after your existing number has been successfully transferred
9. The following is a list of contact details for the relevant Networks:
* 3 - 0870 733 0333
* Orange - 0800 079 2222
* T-Mobile - 0870 606 0139

Nope, the deal is now available with 12 months free on the two tariffs listed here. So £50 profit on the tariff you received £10 profit on. This deal is now expired. :)

Yep, you have something like 7 days in which to cancel. Phone them up, they may send you the phone and you'll have to send it back though.

Called them up but she said they wouldnt let me cancel as the phones about to be dispatched. Ill need to cancel once I receive the phone (prob monday). Just hoping this deal still exists then !
