This offer works by cashback which you claim from Phones4U at specified intervals. You have a massively generous 60 days to send the claim. You must have paid each bill in its entirety, so please only use this deal if you can afford to pay the bills on time and remember to keep on top of the cashback. Use recorded delivery when sending the claims, or better still - special delivery with consequential loss cover. Phones4U are a large high street firm, and are fairly reliable when it comes to cashback.

**Remember to decline/cancel the insurance that they try to give you as it can be very expensive!!**

See the first comment for my advice on how to succeed with a cashback contract and it'll be plain sailing for you!!

There's also a feedback thread for Phones4U... if you have any feedback about Phones4U (both GOOD and BAD experiences) then please post in there rather than in the thread. That way, the info can be used across all Phones4U threads as it's all in one place.

deal is good if you get the cashback, but do you know if people have received their forms?

Good one ducky! :) According to Quidco, cashback is £45 though. The only bad thing here is that M2YD can't port your existing number onto Vodafone. Anyone know if you can arrange this with Vodafone directly?

I did an M2YD deal this time last year. I had to contact them (long time on hold) to remind them to send me the first form after 6 months, but the remainder of the forms on time after that. Initial administration was poor, but improved after that, and I received my cashback with no other problems.

This is direct from Phones4U (rather than their subsidary company, Mobiles2YourDoor), so QuidCo is slightly higher at £50.

Ooops, didn't realise it was Phones4U this time. Even better.
Unfortunately Phones4U don't port to Vodafone either though (not surprising really as they are the same company).

As far as I know, most online phone retailers don't. If you want to port your number then you'll need another network, and we're unlikely to see such great deals from other network providers.

OK, thanks. Such a shame as I'd have gone for this straight away otherwise, it's a great deal. I don't know why Vodafone can't sort this out because as you say it basically forces customers like me who want to keep their number onto another network.

I think they allow it but it's probably extra Administration on Phones4U's part. As I say, there aren't any better deals out there so I guess they know people will take the offer if they really want it.

Sorry, I didn't understand this comment earlier this morning.

As I've said in the other thread: Phones4U will send you the cashback claim forms 30 days before your month 6 bill is due (so 30 days before the first claim date - that's 90 days before the deadline).

The forms don't come with the phone. You might have to ring them up for the first form if they conveniently forget to send it you 30 days before the due date, but in some ways it's very useful as it means that the address on the form will be accurate and you don't have as much time to lose it.

Impressed - voted HOT!!!

i actually rang vodafone to ask why the number porting wasn't possible and they said only if you take the contract out in a shop or directly with them can you port a number. so you can port your number if the deal is available in the phones4u stores but that'll mean you wont get quidco
but because of who i spoke to seriously lacked social skills i think i might just stay clear from vodafone:x
#13
Didn't see this one earlier, top stuff as usual ducky. Voted hot!

I got this phone a few months ago thanks to Duck magic phone is excellent although had for 2 months and Quidco is still tracking not been put through yet, I have raised query and Quidco have said this will go through but just so aware takes some time to go through, but excellent deal and excellent telephone,
#15
good deal but i am too worried about the cashback claim forms, as I took out the previous deal but not had any claim forms as yet.
#16
I've just gone for the same deal through Mobiles2YourDoor.

I missed out on an extra fiver from Quidco though

COLD AS ICE, this phone is 2 years old (im about to finish an 18 month contract with it) and whilst it is a nice phone there are much nicer more gadgety phones available with much better free gifts.

Checkout http://www.buymobilephones.net/ , offers NEW models with fab free gifts such as 360's/PS3/PSP/DS Lite/TV/Cashback etc..and it absolutely definitly works, i got my current 6300 from them - the phone arrived within 2 days and my 360 within a week...and its still getting much use now.
The deal i personally have my eye on is the Samsung tocco with a free PSP AND cashback on a £35 contract, plus you get the magic numbers and 2-4-1 cinema tickets. Win

Lots of good deals on voda but has anyone spotted any good month end deals on three, t-mobile or o2?
#21
If they do not send you the claim form automatically, have they made a fundamental breach of contract? If they have, you could then claim the whole cashback amount.

Good luck proving that they never sent it to you.

You're new to the forums, sometimes comments automatically go into limbo to be checked for spam etc. They should appear within a few hours assuming they're ok.

great deal, i'll be getting this for sure!

may as well go through topcashback.co.uk though for the £50 cashback. (they guarantee the highest cashback rates now, and they don't charge a fiver a year like quidco)

Good point, or cashbackkings or rpoints and do a HCP.

could someone please tell me what the data charges are like on these contracts. Just say for instance i got myself a hacked iphone and i was surfing on 3G what charges could i expect and is there any bolt on type things that i could use to reduce the bill?
#30
Great deal - I signed up for this a month ago when it was on. Got my claim form (sorry - make that 'info about the claim form', I believe, not got it to hand) about 2 weeks after receiving the phone + docs and everything seems to be in order.

Up to 48 hours for Voda to activate the sim.

Worth mentioning - you get 3 months free insurance on this phone then the insurance company will start taking £6.99 or so a month unless you cancel in advance. You agree to this once you click Ok. Easy to forget about this so make a note of it like you would of the dates to send in your claim forms!
The insurance company (I forget the name, Premier Admin Group or something to that effect) use an 0870 number so to keep everything completly free, use a number on saynoto0870.com when cancelling the insurance.

With the current economicic crisis wouldnt be surprised if phones4u go down the pan before your cashback has been redeemed so bare that in mind. I'm not in the know just know high street trading is suffering!

it doesn't matter how old that phone is, its a good phone and id rather have it than the new flashy ones that ll break in a month
and the site you mention isn't a very reputable company, yes there are many sites that offer much better deals however, these usually go bust. i know cos ive been swindled twice so if i ever go for this kind of deal again it would be from a reputable company.

I don't undserstand these offers.

Does it mean i would pay the monthly bill and then get my money back after the contract is eneded?
Or would i just never pay?:?

Thanks

You'd receive 100% cashback by the end of the contract. You get £90 cheques from phones4u after the dates you send in your cashback form (e.g. 6th, 7th, 9th, 12th months). So you initially shell out a few quid and get 100% of it back by the end of the contract. You also get a Nokia 6300 for free and £50 profit if you go through Quidco.

Whoever said it's "cold" as there are better handsets out there - you're missing the entire point of this. This deal could be for a Nokia 3210 on this contract and it'd still be hot as hell due to the fact you're getting x hundred minutes, texts, etc. a month FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! (Plus a tidy profit!)
#35
Basically Phones4U is still making money on all that interest they will be accumulating from your money invested for at least 6 months. Both parties are winners though.
#36
does anyone know about the data charges of these contract? Im very willing to get one but i want to know about high 3G usage and whether you can get vodaphone bolt ons?

TGB is dead right, if you are not happy with the phone ebay it and buy the one you want on PAYG and swap the sim (I've done this a few times), the point is you are getting up to a £500 a year deal for nothing and profit through cashback, my tip is as soon as you get the phone program in the diary the dates to claim your cashback make sure you keep/request the forms and always send by special delivery, it costs £4.60 but basically guarantees they can't query you submitting the claim and you should be insured otherwise.

Nope, they get a commision from vodafone but you're paying vodafone for the contract rather than phones4u so they're not sitting on your £30 a month for 6 months before paying it back to you.
#39
Saved me some time looking for a deal - just ordered one, thanks.

Can anyone confirm that they dont port numbers online and only instore?
