Even if you updated the firmware from the Nokia site it will be still branded firmware

If it is an overseas SIM, and the OP's username suggests it might be, it is a roaming SIM, and may not be restricted in the same way as a UK SIM.

Branded phones are not eligible for updates, because the updates do not go through the lengthy operator approvals.

£50 off £100 spend. This item is £99 so wouldn't do it for me.

That's not what the OP said :w00t: Looks like this Deal is very misleading.

The rep taking the order can over-ride the £1 shortage

I have this phone on a voda contract and have recieved several updates - they lag behind the very latest ones but I definately get them.

oh and I really like this phone btw - very sturdy reliable performer. No bells and whistles but does what I need a phone to do well.
#21
they wudnt let me do it coz im not a previous customer :(
#22
I joined and they did it for me, but had to spend £10 more to get £50 off (tried twice by the way).
#23
I tried and the code was invalid, im already a customer with them. Was a bit embarrassing coz I said that i received the code by email and they could not confirm that.... cold for me as a result ...

ordered one.

operator let me coz i happened to have an account or some1 in the family did,

anyway i've been reading around and it seems they can charge u the 50 quid when they realize that the offer was not sent to you , its a bit strange that the lady on the fone never asked me where i got the code from and then suddenly out of the blue they are gonna ask me for the money back ?

anyway wats peoples thoughts on the matter i may just send it back i assume u can within 14 days ? !! thanks
