It was this price for a while a few weeks ago without the code, but it's a nice phone and a good price.

My mate had this last night at the gym. It was on Voda and he got it from Play last week.

What network is this on?

No, it's OK, there was one but it got expired when they put the price up so well worth a deal now the price is effectively £80 again.

"Use code JWRQLQVDNK to get £10 off (included in the price)" - Where is this code from? Will it work with other handsets, or is there a minimum value?
#9

If you have a vodafone contract or know someone who does you can get the phone unlocked for free, if not then £19.99 (unless you want to wait a year )

Terrible battery life on these handsets, but what would expect from something so slim.
#16
I've had this phone for a year now and you should be aware of the following:

1. These phones are extremely fragile. They can break in your pocket - the screen in particular as it is an exposed TFT screen, no protection.

2. Less than a third of the phone is metal. The rest is plastic. The battery cover and the rest of the body don't line up, it is not seamless.

3. The camera is shockingly bad quality. Taking a photo in anything other than sunlight makes the picture grainy.

4. The keys are tiny. Not at all useful for someone who types at speed.

5. If the battery dies and you plug it in, it can take up to an hour to even start charging. I don't know why this is and could never find an answer.

I wouldn't recommend this phone. It looks good from a distance, but it's a nightmare for the user. Avoid.
#17
Does anybody know if these come vodafone branded?
#18
Good price but to be honest it's a good looking phone but not a very good phone. My husband, my brother and his wife have all got this phone and have all had major problems with it. I wouldn't waste your money.
banned#19
Sorry but - how do you set up an ad?
#20
My wife had to replace the first 2 of these handsets she got on an Orange contract. This 3rd replacement phone is just about holding out. The normal sound quality is awful though without the speakerphone.
#21
Terrible phone, avoid. Keypad is really bad, not easy to use.
#22
The code does work, I have just ordered one, thanks ;-)

Code exclusive to this handset only :)

The battery played up after about 6 months so I drained it right down and it's now fine. So battery life is in line with other similar models. Quite happy with mine but will upgrade as the keys are small, but overall a nice phone with lots of applications.

Does "contract" include sim only customers aswell?

ie. my girlfriend is within the first 12 months of a 30 day sim only contract....would she have to pay to get this (or any other Voda phone) unlocked?

Some Vodafone handsets come unlocked. If it is locked then Vodafone could charge for the unlock code, or could refuse for 12 months. The other option is £15-£25 to get it unlocked elsewhere.

There might also be 3rd party Vodafone firmware/software on the handset so you might also want to flash to a generic Nokia firmware if you'll not be using it on the Vodafone network.

I have this phone in silver and actually quite like it.

Remember that you can drastically improve the battery life by turning off 3G, and Bluetooth when not in use. (A trick i used on my old power-hungry N95)

I have had it for a month and have had no issues with sound quality, although the semi-exposed TFT screen is a little worrying as i have heard reports about how easy it is to break. Still had no problem with it in my pocket so far.

Voted hot because of the price.

i bought this couple of weeks ago, its locked to voda and voda firmware on it too.

i have tried 2 different turbo sims (1 was from dealextreme) and they both did not work, very odd as i have seen other people say dx turbo sims work.

so i think my only hope is gettting it done from voda and paying £20.

good looking phone though

The sims rely on a bug in the Nokia firmware to work, on quite a few software versions the sims dont work, the Vodafone unlock codes are still available though, try ebay there are quite a few people selling the unlock codes for Vodafone BB5 for under £10 before paying though email the seller with your imei and confirm the code is in the database

I have vodafone contract mobile and I had unlock three (brand new 6500 in three days) for free.
