Does anyone have any idea as to whether this phone will be unlocked as most reconditioned/refurb phones are?

Or as it's from Orange, there won't be any chance?

TIA
#3
It'll be locked.
#4
Thanks guys & schizo for the large image :)

More recon phones here
#5
schizo... it's because it's not a part of the Orange site. Maybe we shoudl have a different retailer for Orange Accessories?
#6
Its not Recon!
I work for Orange retail i sell it!
Oh and if you know the right people its £39.99 (example you work in NHS)

Blackhorse, do you know if there is any way to get the phone unlocked by orange?
#8
Please,Blackhorse can it be unlocked?

This is a horrible phone, i've had loads of problems with mine crashing when I had one a year ago. Its also been around for donkeys.

All recent Nokias seem to have major problems - my lowly 3120 dies all the time or 'loses' the sim card and the replacent N73 crashes when you answer a call. And I've heard similar woes from owners of many other models, their recent QC is appalling.

I have one of these.. well did untill yesterday... and it's a great phone... but very chunky and thats just no good for me.. but I had no problems with it and neither did my Father in law who had it before me... think he had it for a year on a contract then i'v had it for about a year on PAYG and not had any probs with it..

I've used the 6630 and 6680, both were solid reliable phones.

I have had this phone for over 18 months. My contract expired and I have had it unlocked so I can keep using it.... I use TomTom mobile on it and can't remember any time when it has frozen up. The only downside I have with it is that it is quite big - but it is fairly indestructible. However, a large screen if very useful for TomTom. You can get a good black rubber effect cover from ebay to make it look better/different. The phones synchs perfectly with Outlook (so you can backup your phone numbers and diary). All in all I am not sure what more you could want in a phone - apart from it being smaller.

As for unlocking - you can only get it done via the network. I don't know what Orange's rules are on this (especially on PAYG) but on 3 you could only get it done in the last month of the contract.

Got a 6630 and a 6680 both great phones.

this phone is rather naff - it has been on offer in past on PAYG for £39.99 prior to Xmas. when coming to unlocking it you mention this phone and most/all shops unlocking services will laugh - its just a pain in the bottom to get unlocked...

No way to unlock this apart from network.

Thanks to all for the advice!

I have one and Orange will unlock these for £20 (they have to ask Nokia directly for the codes which are handset specific as it is a BB5 phone).
