Nice spot! It is actually a few pence more but with a 1gb mem card, thats a bargain! I was onboard with the original lot so I've missed out here unfortuantely :( Good news too they have just come back in stock so this is a very very good deal for those who hestated on the previous one - Cancel your orders if you are still awaiting stock and grab this one!!
#2
Awesome spot! Do you think this deal will be around for long?

sorry another quick question...how does the connectivity on these things work? Just connect through wifi? Or do you need to have a WAP enabled sim card?

why is it cold ?

i think its cold because the deal is only for 2 n770s , most people only want one unless they are planning on flooding ebay with them
#7

Press 'clear' then add one.

Simple, it's your cookies, every time you visit that page it adds one. The solution above solves the problem.

thanks m8, heat added

No its not. I assume you have already visited the site and added to a basket? That info is stored in cookies. Just remove the item and the re-add it.

Just a few things people might want to know, courtesy of Wikipediea...

Although for 80 odd quid some of these things can be overlooked...;-)

The Nokia 770 has received much criticism from some technology reviewers. The universal complaint is the overall speed of the system is inadequate, due to the relatively slow CPU , and only 64MB of on-board memory. Short battery life (less than 4 hours in the case of continuous WiFi usage) was also a concern. Many reviews condemned the handwriting recognition as being inaccurate, and some said even tapping the on-screen keyboard was too slow.

Another common complaint was that it lacked the functions of a mobile PDA (although there are now several PIM options created by the community).

Also, for Internet access away from WiFi hotspots, the Nokia 770 relies upon a Bluetooth 1.2 phone acting as a modem, and not all bluetooth phones will work with the tablet.

Additionally some complained that the device used Reduced-Size MMC (RS-MMC or Micro-MMC) cards that can be difficult to find. However, the format is used in other Nokia products. The device previously had a limit of using a maximum size of 1 GB, but 2 GB cards are supported with the current version of the operating system.

The original features for the Nokia 770 were designed to provide at quick, portable Internet access; and in that function it succeeds well. Given that this is a relatively new niche for a wireless device, part of the criticism may be due to that it does not fit easily in previously defined categories, and may be an entirely new category of handheld wireless enabled device.[citation needed] Many of these criticisms are addressed in the 770's successor the Nokia N800. Including more memory, and support for a pair of SD cards.

Well with the DSR, if you are quick and order this new deal you could just send it back in its place. Or just phone up the company and come to some sort of arrangement
#17
It's a good deal, but nit a good product.

I got one from Amazon, but with the Navikit. I sent it back within a couple of days because it wasn't particularly useful.

The screen is very grainy and it doesn't have enough functions - no calendar, limited games, no MS applications.

I will admit to being a gadget freak, but this was a let down and it just feels like it wasn't thouht through properly. It is a niche-market product.

They must be relevant you idiot or there would not have been complaints..
#19
Let this not turn into another thread flaming each other please!

I too ordered one on the other N770 thread - good luck to those with this offer though.

Whatever the N770's misgivings, it is a billy-bargain at these prices.

Voted Hot.

There has not been an isue with getting hold of the memory cards and they are cheap from SVP. This version also takes the 2gb cards. Not seeing anything relevant there.

does this have or can it have sat nav?
#25
looks like just an internet tablet, doubt it even has much use as a PDA does it? I dont see the point in having something like this, its just another device to carry around when you can get things like the PSP that will do gaming, videos, music and webbrowsing (not as well as that -e.g. no streaming). Also loads of smart phones out there that do this and you can ring from them. What people need is an all in one device to avoid having to carry around loads of electonic goods

is this a phone?? or just a pda??

Neither; it's an internet tablet.

Purely and simply used to get on the internet. It can link with a bluetooth phone to mke calls.

There is a satnav add-on. Check amazon as it is approx £180 for the kit and the tablet itself.
#28
Think I will cancel mine and reorder. Will ring them tomorrow.

Until Tomtom produce a linux version of their software for this then NO.
#33
If you want a phone then why not use VOIP?
The tablet will allow you to make your calls to many of the cheap voip providers (and I do not mean skype).
Getting a phone to do this is not a cheap option, however the 770 will do this, it will give you a much bigger screen for surfing the web, plus allow you to read your email.
This tablet runs Linux so if you want PIM features, they are available.
The 770 can stream from a server, and can be a full media player.
Downside to the 770 is its size which of course is also its advantage.
For £80+ I think this is the real gadget to have.
#34
Thanks for the find peeps... Just ordered one...

Ironic really, since the TomTom units are in fact linux-based!

The N770 is a great device. The only benefits of the n800 over the 770 is the slightly different hardware, which means better support for media and skype. If you're just after web browsing / email / basic PIM, then this is a BARGAIN!

If the demand is there they might decide to, just don't hold your breath.
#37
I ordered mine (nokia 770 on it's own) on friday and got a shipping email on saturday (tracking is royal mail special delivery 9am), i wish i waited now as i would've gone for this offer. But still, £80 seems good value for this.
#38
