If you need a Business phone and don't need GPS and higher Specs Camera then this phone is for you.

You have two good plans: £14.68 a month for 18 months with unlimited text , internet, 75 mins to anyone, unlimited calls to 3 Mobiles and usual freebies (Skype calls, msn etc.) Or the 12 months contract 500 minutes to anyone, texts for £24.47 (but no internet :( you have to pay extra for that).

Go through quidco, but don't add promo codes as it might invalidate quidco

The little brother of the Nokia E71, the Nokia E63 lacks a GPS receiver and preinstalled games, and it has a downgraded camera. On the other hand, it possesses the same excellent email and messaging capabilities as other members of the Nokia E-series.

Unlimited internet? 1GB?

Yes I think so, but for using on a phone seems plenty to me. Then I suppose nearly all companies have a fair usage policy

This phone has wi-fi so when you can you can also use access points.

Hi,

I use these phones at work. Its a very nice stable phone

also on Virgin with 200 mins and 500 texts for 18 months, £18 per month with 3 months free (works out to £15 a month, no cashback involved), web access is 30p a day

E63 is a bit of a pointless handset in my opinion.... why release a stripped down version of an E71 that's designed for business but without the main business features? ..also with a cheap plastic case instead of the robust metal E71 case. E71 is affordable now so i'd advise anyone keen on the E63 to go for the E71.

I got an E71 on Saturday and it's lovely. For a little bit more I'd go for the E71 @ 20 on 3. Don't forget Quidco as well :)

That does not include the Internet. The bottom line is the E73 is a better deal because of the free internet, but lacks GPS and has a plastic shell.

thanks-took the plunge- how many of the functions does a normal human use anyway? unlimited internet and texts and a an hour's free calls for less than £15 too good to resist

The E71 deal does include unlimited internet and unlimited texts, unlimited Three to Three and 200 mins for £20 per month so all round a far better deal that the E63 imo.

Wrong. The E71 DOES have free internet :)

5 pound saving over 18 mths. that's 90 quid. But you do get less minutes. only 75 compared to 200.

Could be good for some. But i agree with freebiehunter. The E71 is quality... I went to a Nokia shop and had a play around with both. If you do the same, i'm sure you'll agree... :)

How are a better camera, GPS, Preinstalled Games and a Metal Case "Main Business Features"?! AFAIK things like Push E-Mail and QWERTY Keyboards are what would be considered 'business' features. The only thing moderately useful out of that list is the GPS, but there are plenty of Blackberry handsets without GPS anyway and they seem to be doing fine!

My only gripe with this is Symbian, which I dislike as a phone OS. Much prefer Windows Mobile, especially for its integration into Outlook etc.

Still an excellent price, hot.

Agree with the other posters - the E71 for £20 a month is a better offer.

Nokia E63 RADIO

The browsing on E63 is 3 G ( approx 384 Kbs . might be faster?) , on the E71 its is at least 3.6 Mps
Not a big factor when browsing with the phone itself -no real issue.

But has any one used in a tethered mode yet ( in a net book etc?)
I am interested to know - if this is legitamtely possible thenthe E71 offer starts to look goog

WIndows Mobile is CRUD! had Windows Mobiles for years and ended up renewing my contracts with a different OS. WM got so slow it was ridiculous and the amount of times it accidentally wiped all data when the battery went dead was a joke.

Symbian may be average but still prefer it to WM.

Am I the only person that noticed that you get free internet with the E63 but not the E71?

I thought you meant 14 quid in total for a second there - phone deal posts normally have the cost of the whole first year (ie - the actual handset cost after cashbacks etc) posted as the item price. Maybe we need a way of saying per month in the title or the price on display in the main page.

On the first one, yes it does make a difference. I have used my E71 on 3g connection and it is painful just to go on google to search for something. As soon as you hit a 3.5g connection it is enjoyable and just like home just on the handset.

As for the teathering I have used my E71 on my Samsung NC10 on a number of occasions and get about 2mbit connection each time. Connected it mainly using Wifi (via joiku spot) and Bluetooth but have used a cable connection too.

On the topic of people saying it doesnt include internet on the e71 contract with 3. YES IT DOES INCLUDE THE INTERNET BOLT ON go read the advert.

Also if you are considering the e63 it is a nice phone but to be honest we all change computers and the keyboards change where some buttons are and we dont complain so dedicated buttons on the e63 may be nice but hardly worth it if the phone doesnt have some other useful functions.

Also I find that my e71 even with my own carelessness is still as good as new and scratch free as the metal body doesnt show scratches all that well.

This question was answered in an earlier post. Alternatively, check here.

on the whole still a HOT deal for those wanting to pay no more than £15 a month. Where else can you get this for FIFTEEN quid a month??

Another negative point though - no HSDPA so not particually fast internet either. Its a bit of a strange handset as many of the good points from the E71 have been removed from the E63 making it a pointless handset in my opinion.

For £15 per month is cheap though, agreed.

Symbian phones integrate fantastically with Outlook both in Synchonising and in ability to get push email from your Company's Exchange Server. Symbian is oodles more reliable and stable than Windows Mobile (which of the 2 comes with a reset button?)
#27
how is this a pre-order when it's been on the site for a couple of weeks now?
#28
The phone is decent quality with a good camera and browsing speed, I was quite surprised and found it easier to use than my E65. One of the things I didn't like is how the back doesn't seem to clip on fully and you have a little gap, making it not the most secure of battery covers, I personally would prefer the E71 though.

Apparently, 3 are having the E75 in this month and considering the phone is due to cost around £300+, I'm guessing it will only be available on £30pm contracts.

my last 4 mobiles have run windows, wouldn't use anything else!

the data lost when battery went flat was true with 2002/2003WM, but the windows mobile 5.0 OS of a good few years back now is a different game, my latest phones on WM 6.1, soon to be flashed to 6.5:thumbsup:

Got a HTC touch pro at the moment, its the business:thumbsup:

Back on topic, compared the e65 to the e71 in the 3 shop, the e71 wins allday lonfg, yes its £5 aa month more, but and extra 125mins and the superior phone is worth it,

so much so the other half wanted the e65, but once in the shop she was won over by the quality fell and build of the e71, just gotta order it now:-D

I went for this deal and I am glad I did. For those saying the E71 is superior, it is not. Thats all the E63 lacks in major features is GPS, HSDPA and a 3.2MP camera and thats it . Lets face it who can say they honestly make good and frequent use GPS and HSDPA to warrant an extra fiver a month? I know I don't, if you do then fair enough, but I bet most don't and the camera...lets face it it is not going to set the world alight is it.

The "cheap" plastic casing on the E63 is actually very good quality for those who haven't actually held it and it feels reassuring when you do hold it, it is FAR from cheap. The phone looks very smart actually, it's just the right colour and is very sturdy. This nonsense that people talk about in regards to the E71 having a metal casing which makes it "way better" just highlights the snob value for those looking to impress in my view, it makes very little difference to what the phone is. Both phones are constructed very well and are of a high construction quality.

Its all about what is best for your needs not which is technically better. The E63 package was better value for me as I don't often use GPS or HSDPA and 75 mins a month is more than enough for me. On my last phone (HTC TyTN 2 (Vario 3 as I was with T-Mobile)) I only used them both on google maps, yes it was handy on times, but I used it once in a blue moon and I find camera phones for the most part to be kind of gimmicky. With this in mind I didn't see the point in spending a fiver a month extra just for those features. I have tried google maps on my lowly 3G E63 and they load pretty quickly to be honest and I am not even living in a high strength area.

All in all I am much happier with this phone and the type of contract I have with 3 than the one I had with a Vario 3 on T-moblie. WinMob is just a complete catastrophe of an OS in my view and T-Moblies serivce was just a complete joke. I could move the phone an inch in any direction of having a full strength single and then I would be completely cut off from the service - no signal, no kidding. I had to be very careful where I put the phone down as I would loose the service connection. All in all T-mobiles service was severely lacking for me and I have read that other people have experienced similar problems.

If you are considering the E71 deal then decide if you would genuinely make good use of GPS and/or HSDPA. If you can honestly say that you would miss them then go for the E71 at £20pm; it is still good value. If you think it through first though and find that yes I could live with out them, then go for the E63 as you will not be disappointed with and at £15pm you will be saving a bit of money over the E71 package. It's a cracking little phone for that sort of price; both of them are actually. I was at a loss for a replacement for my Vario 3 as my contract had run out. I've been without a phone for about 4 days trying to find a replacement. I found my self on Three's website, not even considering or expecting anything from them, but when I saw both these phones for the prices advertised my eyeballs popped. I have some time to play around with the E63 and so far it is shaping up to be one of my favourite phones, I much prefer it to the Vario 3 and I don't even miss the touch screen that the vario 3 had.

As you may have guessed by now, I am not sorry I have a flimsy plastic case, I am not sorry I have no GPS, I am not sorry I have no HSDPA, I am not sorry I have no 3.2MP camera and I am not sorry I am stuck with slow 3G.

EDIT: Not sure if all the Blue E63's are gone because they now only have black listed.
#34
I picked up the E63 on PAYG the other day from Three as a replacement for my contract 6500 Slide, and can say without a doubt it is the best handset I have owned so far. Better than the N95 I had, better than the Vario on Tmobile a few years back and even better than the Treo 600 I got on Orange even further back than that. I have big hands but the keys work well, the phone is not flimsy at all, and it syncs with outlook way better than any other phone I have had the pleasusre to use.

Just a shame there are no Pdair flip cases about in the UK yet :(

Just ordered this phone on Virgin. They have different tariffs if you have any of tv/landline/broadband with them.

£12 a month 150 mins 250 text. and they waived the £28.00 cost of phone. I'll pay my 30p per day for internet when i need it.

I too am moving from win mobile phone which i loved but was soooo unresponsive.

I was going to get this but was put off by people saying how bad three's customer services were and how bad the signal coverage is.
Is it really that bad?
