Nokia. is this a history lesson from the 90s?

In all seriousness fair price

Having been an Android fanboy for a few years I am warming again to Microsoft, especially with the latest Android update problems (Nexus 7 2012 now unusable). Seems as good deal for a Windows phone. Heat added.

Is this sim free by any chance?

I got my son one of these for Christmas. May be difficult to find someone other than Tesco who can unlock it if you need that. They charge £20 which they take from the airtime credit.

Good price, VERY poor phone. heat added for price

I'd wait around for the 535 in the UK if you're looking for a cheap, and worthwhile, phone. This isn't it.

You may want to consider the bush windows phone sold by argos...it's a clone of the highly rated blu win jr....on sale for £59.95...it also is dual sim and has front and rear cameras.

For the price, this a great phone

Great phone, brilliant price, spec for £ is good, if you want Cortana to help you run your life, then worth the purchase for that alone!

"Good Morning Betsy [my nominated Cortana activator name!] show me the latest posts on hotdealsuk.com"

Time saved typing.. Priceless X)

Jam, have you tried doing a full factory wipe, then a full 5 rom reinstall? If not and you have no extended warranty from Google on the Nexus, solved it a few of our StreetGB lot.

Also this new CGM [cyangenmod] would serve you as a stop gap [installed it last night] if you want the best performance, battery, play store and signal while the big G fixes the issue in Lollipop5 with the 5.1 update [pending] soonish..

Not actually had any issues with Lollipop 5 on both a wifi 7 and a gsm 7, so even though a few have it, a few do not!

The Nexus 7 Lollipop issue is only temporary Google issued specific fixes in 5.0.3. WP 8.1 is a decent slick fast platform, for me though it doesn't have the functionality or app support of Android. For now I stick by the following mantra which is Android for phones, Apple for tablets.

Got 2 of these, for whatever reason this has tracked at 1% on TCB instead of the advertised 0.43% again [I mentioned this in a few threads over last week] so starting to wonder if it may be a % glitch and worth posting a thread for it, after all 0.57% extra in our pockets is better than in Tescos!

Windows Phone are great, good price Hot

Is there any way to unlock these phones?
#19
Tesco will unlock for £20, or free after 1 year. http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/phone/mobile-phones/changing-provider/mobile-phone-locking-and-unlocking/

I've only seen Vodafone unlocking services on eBay for about £7, none for Tesco.

Reasonable phone. Shame there's no flash on the camera though. I use my 520 with a big memory card in it as an mp3 player. Cheaper than an ipod :-)

I had a tesco HTC and have just checked it with another sim and it's already unlocked :)

Yes, the 920 they sold a few months ago was the SIM Free version (although it was listed as locked to Tesco Mobile).

The best way to check if a Lumia is unlocked on Tesco Mobile is to check the Microsoft software updates page. This lists all of the network variants for each model. If a model is listed without a Tesco Mobile variant (as is the case with the 920), it will probably be unlocked. Models listed with a Tesco Mobile variant will almost certainly be locked to Tesco.

The Lumia 630 has a Tesco Mobile variant, so it will definitely be locked.

Can we ask why you think its VERY poor?

I'm using this phone right now and after it went back to Virgin for two repairs in 6 weeks it works fine.

Incredibly helpful response as I search for a cheap Lumia. This is what HUKD is all about. Thanks!

Any joy with testing this to check if locked? need one for a present but it's for an o2 sim

it's locked to Tesco you can get a unlock code on eBay for £12.50.

I'm actually going to sell mine as it's only a 1 sim slot. I thought the 630 was dual sim so much to my surprise I opened it up to find there's only one sim slot, if I knew before I wouldn't have bought it.

The deal is over though now it's £69.
