Nokia Lumia 635 for £49.99 + £20 topup @ EE £69.99

£69.99 @ EE
Can't say if this is a decent phone or not but if someone is in the market for a Lumia then EE have a 'sale' on them. The Lumia 735 is for £129.99 + £20 topup. Link to that below; http://shop.ee.c…

Seems a shame that you HAVE to topup £20 to get the deal.

Can't abide these "add £20" deals
#5
if you are on pay as u go the 20 top up will get used eventually anyway

the reason for it is to stop market/ebay traders buying as many as they can and unlocking to sell on for profit,

those who have a use for the £20 credit are getting a good deal

Does anyone know if you can unlock EE phones?

Managed to smash the screen of my much loved Lumia 920 and need a temporary replacement (until some new flagships arrive). I'm on Three UK (3UK), so looking for a cheap option (preferably Windows Phone), or a 735 that my wife would like once I'm sorted.

Thanks raf_shc, just worried as I'm not a current customer - elsewhere on their website it says you have to be a customer for at least 6 months..

Anyone with experience of unlocking a EE phone without being an existing customer (for 6 months)?

Ring them and ask for a loyalty discount if you are a member for 6 monthit can't hurt, good luck
#14
As a customer of 3 months on PAYG, I was given a different price with every call I made. Kept being told I had accrued no loyalty discount but was finally offered one for £49.99, supposedly with £5 loyalty. Turned out that £20 of this was classed as top up, which I actually needed so quite happy.

Phone is great. No front camera or rear flash but can't complain at the price.

EE unlocks this phone for £20.42. If you read their T&Cs it clearly states that for contract phones you will have to be with them for at least 6 months before they allow the unlock. For PAYG phones the unlock code can be requested immediately against that referred payment this is. The 20 quid top up will help towards the unlock cost. You will however have to call them to pay for the 42 pence unless you give them another 5 quid via top up which would be a good waste if you don't like this network.

if you dont need the top up you can buy it as a replacement device for £59.99

snappy windows phone, runs nice and smooth, great price let down by the top up.

I bought one £49.99 plus £10 ee top up through the Dan and Phil SIM card promotion I can't get it unlocked and ee will only unlock after 6 months so it's sat in the drawer for now til I can sell it which ive failed to do so far :/

I know this comment is 3 days old but..... I got a Samsung S4 unlocked which was brand new on the EE network. It cost me £12, (they put the prices up at Christmas), but it worked straight away on the 3 Network.

Obviously this was for a different phone but I does suggest that EE phones are possible to unlock.
