You can buy a micro sim adapter that returns it back to standard

Thanks for the reply.
However, I did use one of these a while ago and had a lot of problems getting the micro sim out again. Apparently there can be an issue with sim adapters wedging the micro sim in such a way as to make it next to impossible to remove it from the phone.
Yeah I can understand that tbh particularly when used in say an iPhone where your actually pushing it into a slot. Suppose it would be ok to use where the sim slides under a metal cover or just clips into place
The sim / phone has to be present at the time of purchase as they make a call from it.
[This seems to be the only consistent thing throughout the whole damn saga]
Orange is your best bet to get it at 129
No dont cut it. Just bring the orange phone into the store. They ring the network with the phone to get a code. I can't believe that other poster was told he needed to have a micro sim!!! That is totally wrong. I got it on o2 but must have just been lucky

I had to do this before the phone would work on 3. Went to my local 3 store and they gave me a micro sim and transferred my number over.
The OP himself got the upgrade using an O2 sim (see post 77)
Thanks, I saw the post and tried again but failed. I was told the price was not negotiable since it was offered by the network. I called another store, Newbury and they said it was 129 on O2.
It is hit and miss on O2 and depends on their mood.
Yes.. I just called another store to confirm this this deal she said the cheapest currently available was 129.95 and O2 was not included
I went to Newbury store to buy it after getting confirmation of price on the phone (£129) on O2. But I had trouble getting at that price and they wanted £149. I walked out. Very disappointed after driving all the way and returning without.

Thats terrible. Each shop seems to offer different deals. As the phone will come unlocked could you get someone else with an orange, voda or t-mob payg mobile to get it for you?

Thanks, I will try with my friend's T-Mobile.

I agree...I was asked to pay £149 on O2. I am just back from 4 Phones4U shops. Most of them are out of stock.

The last time I got a upgrade the assistant just went through the numbers on my mobile until she got one that worked.

Apparently bond street still have some in stock, dunno if they'll be as picky.
It works fine with O2 sim in it. Nottingham Victoria Centre had a few left on Sunday
I try to do the same thing with the HTC Radar yesterday which was supposedly £79.95 for PAYG upgraders, but when I told them I was on o2, they wanted £89.95.
No top up or any additional costs.
Well pleased! Phoned also works with my Orange SIM card so I'm certain its unlocked.
