Just bought this instore for £129.95!! Over the moon is an understatement. You will need a payg sim with at least 30p on it to get this price. Its on Vodafone, Orange T-Mobile & (if your lucky) 02 at this price. The 710 is also available for £79.95

I've got an Orange PAYG sim that I've used for a year now, will I have to get it cut before I go? Have read back in this thread and seems like it depends on the store?

No dont cut it. Just bring the orange phone into the store. They ring the network with the phone to get a code. I can't believe that other poster was told he needed to have a micro sim!!! That is totally wrong. I got it on o2 but must have just been lucky

whats the thing with these not working on Three UK properly?

anyone got the internet working on three? what did you do?

regards

I had to do this before the phone would work on 3. Went to my local 3 store and they gave me a micro sim and transferred my number over.

@jataayu / jlawrence P4U seem to be making this up as they go along lol

The OP himself got the upgrade using an O2 sim (see post 77)

Thanks, I saw the post and tried again but failed. I was told the price was not negotiable since it was offered by the network. I called another store, Newbury and they said it was 129 on O2.

It is hit and miss on O2 and depends on their mood.

Yes.. I just called another store to confirm this this deal she said the cheapest currently available was 129.95 and O2 was not included

I went to Newbury store to buy it after getting confirmation of price on the phone (£129) on O2. But I had trouble getting at that price and they wanted £149. I walked out. Very disappointed after driving all the way and returning without.

Thats terrible. Each shop seems to offer different deals. As the phone will come unlocked could you get someone else with an orange, voda or t-mob payg mobile to get it for you?

I agree...I was asked to pay £149 on O2. I am just back from 4 Phones4U shops. Most of them are out of stock.

I'm grabbing my friend on O2 to get the £149 price, what do they need? Just the phone number or will they look at the sim?

The sim / phone has to be present at the time of purchase as they make a call from it.

[This seems to be the only consistent thing throughout the whole damn saga]

The last time I got a upgrade the assistant just went through the numbers on my mobile until she got one that worked.

Orange is your best bet to get it at 129

@shug119 yes that used to be the case... but think they've cottoned on and now insist on the phone being present to make a call

London Oxford street (2 shops on opposite sides of the road - wtf?) had one "magenta" (it's fecking pink) phone in stock between them, refused to sell it to me as I only have a non-micro sim :-(

Apparently bond street still have some in stock, dunno if they'll be as picky.

Friend in work was offered this phone on a virgin upgrade at £139.95. It def depends on which store/sales assistant you go to
#153
ALSO - the phone you're upgrading needs to have a tenner put on at least every couple of months. They refused to allow my upgrade (was a mates phone) because it wasn't "used often enough"
#154
They are unlocked! I used my sons Orange sim card to get it for £129.95 as on O2 it was £149.95.
It works fine with O2 sim in it. Nottingham Victoria Centre had a few left on Sunday
#155
Just to confirm, Phones4U doe charge more if you are o2.

I try to do the same thing with the HTC Radar yesterday which was supposedly £79.95 for PAYG upgraders, but when I told them I was on o2, they wanted £89.95.

Any thoughts on battery life with this phone? My Xperia Arc S will drain its battery in just over half a day if I am listening to music and have it in airplane mode. I know smartphones are pretty rubbish as far as battery is concerned, but is this one any better?
#157
Picked one up in Chester on Saturday for 129.99. I only had a full size orange sim card but they had a cutter to make it into a micro. Unlocked works with orange and a vodaphone micro sim. Phone is a quality item, nokia drive is superb.
#158
Just picked one up this morning on o2 for £129.95 in black.

No top up or any additional costs.

Well pleased! Phoned also works with my Orange SIM card so I'm certain its unlocked.

Wish this was unlocked id be all over it like a cheap suit

To unlock any mobile phone to any network simply hit your dial button to make a phone call and type *#06# to obtain your unique IMEI code for your phone. Then go to unlockmyphone.com type in your code and they will send you a 10 digit unlock code. Put in your desired SIM card, it will then ask for your unlock code. Type it in and off you go...simples! Will cost just under a £5 to do it.

Nokia 800's bought from P4U are factory unlocked /
If however you do happen to buy the N800 locked (from say Tesco) it will cost around £20.00 to unlock

Agreed, but why pay £20 when you can do it for less than a fiver? If you bought a second hand iPhone for example on orange and wanted to go onto O2 this is perfect.

Have you a specific link to unlocking the N800 for under a fiver
Cant seem to find the company you mention unlockmyphone.com
