The Nokia N97 Mini, well I couldnt have put it better myself, its literally a miniature version of the N97. Coming in at 14.2mm thick its the travel- friendly model, sporting the original touch screen, QWERTY keyboard and tilt display. The similarities are obvious.

8GB of Internal Memory
Qwerty keyboard
Symbian operating system
Wi-Fi Technology
Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate

This phone is selling for £399 on pay as you go - this is an 18 month deal - 3000 texts and 600 minutes - no cashback claims

18 months at £25.00 = £450.00 less £35.00 quidco = £415.00

Bargain if this is the phone for you. Sorry didnt know how to get image on

I got an N97 (not mini) in July this year, I sold it 2 months later, it was a terrible phone. My neighbour also had one and sold his recently. It had too many bugs to be user friendly and would need frequent turning off and on again as things would stop working such as the camera! Mine was as Nokia intended, meaning no network stuff on it to make it worse, my friends was from 3 and was worse than mine. There was a v2.0 firmware released in October but I don't know if it fixed a lot of the issues. The mini may be fine, the same or worse I don't know. The quality of Nokia phones has declined massively in recent times, I used to love Nokias but not anymore. My neighbour got an iPhone 3GS 32gb and I went back to my SE K800i until a phone comes along that does what I want it to do and does it well. To date no such phone has grabbed my attention. The N97 really is basically a 5800 with a hardware keyboard but works more or less when it wants too, the screen wasn't very responsive either.

This is the Mini N97 so I would have hoped they would have got rid of the bugs from the N97. Reviews - Both expert and user reviews are very good on all phone sites.

I was given a N97 as a birthday present sim free and to be honest to get tied into 18month contract with this phone is probably the worst decision you could make!

Both the branded firmware and the latest 2.0 unbranded firmware is full of bugs... there is meant to be a new firmware 2.1 but it still isnt out.

If anything get the same bundle but with a different phone...

Mobile internet INCLUDED in contract is a must-have with this phone.

Website/magazine reviews may be good but it's user reviews that count because they use an item on a daily basis.

I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and am getting increasingly fed up with it!
One thing about the review is it says about lack of voice navigation. I have had voice navigation on the N series of Nokia for around 3 years now! I’m not sure what the review means. I do have subscription to it.
The review also states that it doesnt auto rotate. It does! I think you have to tell it to in the profile settings, but once thats done it flips pretty well by itself.
I find the fact it doesnt have an FM transmitter an issue although not a show stopper. That was a big highlight for me the fact I didnt need to carry a seperate FM transmitter.
I have also lost several applications, inc. the Nokia Internet Radio. They simply dont work.
I have just had to take the batter out for the umpteenth time as it simply locks up!
The volume button shoots up to the top or drops to the bottom and continuously ‘beeps’ at me whenever it feels like it. The screen isnt very responsive. Give me the N95 anyday. Of course I had problems for 6 months or so while I had software updates and thebuild quality wasnt the best,, but compared to this trash.. it’s far superior!
Although I have been so against the Iphone in the past, I’m definately thawing out towards the idea.. at least they appear quite reliable and without the ‘clunkiness’ of the Nokias O/S.

Yea, I gotta agree with the people slating the N97, I know this is the mini and I hope they have sorted the flaws out of the N97 for the Mini.

As the N97 was a terrible phone. I had an iPhone 2G and my contract ran out, so I signed an 18 month contract and got the N97. After 3 months I had enough and sold it on eBay for £380. I am glad that I kept my iPhone otherwise I'd be screwed!

It was just so bad, the apps were buggy, the symbian os is just terrible and looks so dated. Just everything with the phone was slow to respond like playing music, opening apps ect.....

Avoid at all costs.

GPS works better on the mini. The other big improvement over the N97 is the space on the C drive. The mini is not so much an alternative to the original, as a replacement. [B]

The major carriers in the UK have dropped the N97, in favour of the mini.

From the same reviews as above - please do not vote cold if you did not like the N97 - this is a different phone
