I'm not voting either way hot or cold but why on earth would anyone waste £300+ on a Nokia when there's so many Android Phones out there? Nokia is so far behind the times and the OVI Store is just horrid with hardly any decent software.

Lots of bugs in this phone,Nokia was my favourite brand, but not now.It `s a shame Nokia falling down...

One of my colleagues at work got it last week & I had a play with it and was impressed with. They may not be at the same level of iPhone and Androids yet but have made another handset that appeals.

Could not agree more with RIMI. Another Nokia "flagship" handset which has failed to deliver!

wouldn't exactly say it failed - hardware just short off being stunning, equipped with bluetooth 3, largest sensor plus great optics, meaning camera wise its unbeaten, 720p video and multimedia is pretty awesome too. symbian 4 would run on it, and firmware wise it will keep getting better. where as Android still lags behind in free offline navigation app and battery.

Who wants Symbian? Most operators have binned their involvement in this outdated software. This phone could have been brilliant but shortcuts were taken, poor screen, slow buggy software, slow CPU/memory and poor design. As for the camera that was a disappointment and is not as good as the 12mp Satio camera albeit records 720p.

It will not be long before this handset starts selling for less than £200, then it maybe hot.

Its good price for what is supposed to be a good phone, like the N900 that came out last year it can do a load of what other phones can't, and also has a battery life that lasts longer than a day, very rare these days (my iPhone 3GS only lasts a day at a stretch)

Still cant decide whether to get the N8 or the C7 tho (better looks, but no Xeon flash or HDMI out)

My mate has this phone and it turns its self off for no reason.

I think people forget a mobile is supposed to be for making calls. I have a iPhone 3gs and have found that if I do not use it to play games or surf the net it may last 2 days (all notifications off as well). But what's the point? I am going back to Nokia as I cannot stand the restrictions and the rubbish reception.
Two of my friends have the iPhone 4 & both compaling about reception problems etc hahaha!
Wake up people demand better than be blinded by Apple. Good device but not a good mobile!!

Thats a reported issue for some of the N8's that Nokia have and it is covered under the phone warranty, get your mate to either speak to the service provider or call up nokia to have it repaired.

Look at it this way, at least its an issue that can be fixed under warranty rather than the antenna issue of the iPhone 4! :-)

I'd naver have another Nokia after having to endure my N97. Symbian is rubbish and while the specs of this phone look impressive, the sw is where all Nokias fail. Also, OVI is short on applications and those that are available often fail to install correctly, leaving the user having paid for sw that is unuseable.
