seems to have good features. but OVI apps are just terrible.
hopefully by the time i need to renew my contract next year this kind of thing will be on offer......

Not sure about Nokia and Symbian anymore... Symbian 5th edition is like a Christmas tree where they kept adding balls until it nearly falls over. It's slow (on my 5800) and buggy, with the latest firmware the phone just about works. My next phone won't be a Nokia.
Has this got the new Symbian S^3? If it is hope they designed it from scratch instead of building on the Symbian 5th edition (mind you, I had a Symbian 3rd edition phone and that was pretty stable but then... had less features)

I believe it is Symbain 3. But Symbains looking its age against Android.

I really want to like the N8, hardware wise it's got the lot, I'm just worried about the way it'll work !

If Nokia weren't so determined to back Symbian to the end (which must be close), and adopted Android (why MeeGo?) this little of bit kit would be unstoppable.

(Not voting either way on the deal.)

been waiting for the lil devil since the early announcement...
they started with £270 (which was quite hard to believe), then kept increasing until it went £415 (play.com) which I guess is because it compares to the DESIRE, so they wanted a similar price tag....
Ovi app store is quite awful with not so many to choose from, but I still like Nokia!

I'm just reluctant to switch from my E71 ...

I completely agree. If this had have been running Android I'd be ordering one now. Might be interesting to see if the guy at XDA can port Android to it ! Though I doubt the hardware would be supported.

Quidco is also 10% at the moment, for those who prefer :-)

Used to be a big Symbian fan until I got an N97. What a load of rubbish that was. Symbian has been rendered irrelevant by Android. I don't see any way back for Nokia unless they fix the OS or go with Android.

Android os and this would be a great phone

Once upon a time, i loved nokia, they did have the dest phones, 8910, 8800 and so on..

But the smart phones, i had n96 and 5800, one had no touch screen, and one might as well had no touch screen.

If Nokia used Android, i would ditch HTC and buy nokia every time, but as apple proved software is mighter than the hardware.

Any update on a release date yet? I'm tempted but not yet sold until I try the operating system.
