Nokia N86 is free from £18pm on Virgin Mobile 18m contract deals. usually this phone starts free at £25pm so is a great saving.

Virgin Media customers on £18pm get unlimited texts and unlimited Virgin to Virgin calls, there's also a data tariff on £18pm

Also Virgin Media customers get 2 months free (i know we do it in stores)

Also i believe the Nokia 5800 will be going down to £10pm and the 6700 to £10pm as well, but will need to confirm

Nokia N86 features:
8mp camera
GPS with Ovi Maps (free navigation possible)
Wi-Fi
3G
Apps from the Ovi Store
Email
Quad band
Bluetooth
8gb MicroSD
3.5mm headphones connector
FM Radio
MP3 player

and loads more

great deal! great phone, not sure on the free Ovi Maps navigation though; it's only selected phones at present which don't include the N86

i think there is a way round it if you install a different version

http://www.nokiausers.net/forum/nokia-n86/33424-n86-free-navigation.html

Seems like you can do it by installing the E72 version

Cracking deal imo, very tempted

There is also Quidco at £30 but i tried to order it on website and it kept on crashing so I rang them and because I am already a customer they gave me 2 months free line rental.

If you've got cable and are subscribed to their broadband, TV or phone line.

this GPS is it full free for £18 a month or is there extra fees? what about Internet?

never had a contract phone!

Does anyone know what operator carries the Virgin service? I get pretty poor reception with Orange at home.
#9
The 5800 seems to get better reviews and is still available on this same tariff.

Virgin use T-Mobile as their operator

If you want the Quidco buy it online then give them a ring, if your not interested in the Quidco just give them a ring.

ok, ta, just thinking that they won't have any incentive to give two months free if it's existing online sale rather than one to add to their stats......

worth a go though, cheers
#15
do vm sell their phones with any branding on the handset?
#16
I'd ask the telesales people to be honest. ages ago, I bought a "lobster" phone from them which was covered with logos & software etc. Recntly bought a HD2 & it's as unfettered & unmolested as one could wish for :-D
#17
The £22 a month deal not bad either 250 mins and unlimited texts and mobile internet

Not any more

No official N86 support yet, but Nokia have announced that they intend to extend handset support (and the N86 is an obvious candidate). The E72 client should work fine in the meantime.

its not the prettiest of phones :o

Will you need unlimited internet to operate the sat nav?.. Does it connect via the internet or is it free to use like the normal sat navs.. I know this will seem a silly question to some... Thanks,,
#22

Sat Nav can be run off the phone using the GPS chip (so no internet needed). Things like TomTom (no longer offer symbian support), Garmin XT etc all only use the GPS module.

Google maps will only use the internet as it's not used to function with GPS except for location, plus it doesn't store it's maps offline.

I dont know about Nokia's own as I dont use it, but I imagine it's GPs based just like any other proper SatNav software is.

The site has gone tits up. Must be popular.

I thought the same ... :-D

Although probably just a useual bodge up somewhere.

Site now working again.:):)

Where do you see "free unlimited virgin to virgin calls" on the £18/month tariff?
Is there a "fair use" clause?
#28
Great find, am tempted to go for it
#29
Good deal given how crap the phone is the price does suit it. Software is appalling. I have this phone btw. Do make sure Virgin dont lock down the firmware im currently stuck on 1.1 because Orange have not authorised the 2.0 firmware. 2.0 makes things slightly better but its still rubbish. Also do not update your firmware over the air. Do it with a computer. Over the air will seemingly work but the phone will be more buggy than intended.

Yes Ovi maps is available FREE even now I just selected the e55 as the phone model, it still works, then you can load maps onto it with maps loader. You can also get it to say road names.

seems ok

Its a Virgin Media special, so if you have Virgin Media at home (BB, TV or Landline) then you get extra mins to other Virgin Mobiles (3000mins fair use). You may have to call or go to store to do this as you need your Virgin Media account number
