This phone isn't worth £20 nevermind £420! It may have the features of a great phone but the quality and the build of this phone is just cheap and very flimsy. Nokia are just greedy and push out new phones with huge flaws and problems and don't really care, if they slowed down and actually made a phone that functioned properly without any problems i would consider buying another nokia but wont buy one if the low quality phones keep spilling onto the market just to make a quick few quid. The best phone these have ever made is the 3310, from then on they have just gone down hill quality wise.

I think my last nokia was the 6670, a very slow smartphone which was just hidious and was terrible quality. I have had the n95 but only kept it for a few days and sent it back, it really is bad!

Thats your opinion to be honest...the n95 is a great piece of kit you must have just been unlucky....I have got one and the phone feels very solid all my friends like it...and some of the features on it are great..to say it aint worth 20 quid is a bit strange imo....seems like a good deal for the phone to me

It's a great piece of kit? What makes it so great? The wifi that takes forever to find a connection and then is so slow theres no point being connected, and then get cut off after around 10 mins? It may feel very solid now, but trust me. Give it a few weeks and it will be very flimsy!

ive had my n95 since April pal and it is still very solid....and the wi-fi is very stable now...did you ever update the firmware on yours ?? ...you say you had the phone for 3 days...then sent it back...how on earth can you tell me how the build quality will deteriorate :? ...when mine is as good as the day i got it in April.

Just wait for the new Sony Ericsson, 5MP cam like the N95. I had an N95 but didn't like it, too big as well so sold it.

Agreed, the N95 is fantastic pile of junk and to prove that Vodafone had a 42% return rate on contract upgrades and Nokia have released the refreshed N95.

You could get a Vodafone V1605 or Palm 750v for FREE from VF on an upgrade or new account.
#17
There's a lot of debate on this at the moment and it's not always the case with other models, but with the N95 I think it does make a difference whether you get one 'Made in Finland' or 'Made by Nokia'.
#18
I have the N95, the build quality is great, the features are useful, the camera takes some good pictures, I have no problem whatsoever connecting to wifi, easy to navigate, the battery life is nowhere near as bad as anyone makes out and i've heard a rumour that the GPS function will be free as of December 2007. I'm on a 12 month contract on £35 a month, got a free 1GB micro SD card and free insurance, so if it does suddenly fall to pieces i'll get another one foc. Good times.

I have a generic nokia n95 and it is the best phone on the market, if the networks left the software alone and didn't insist on putting their own sh*t on then all the phones would work as designed by nokia.
if you have a network branded one you can get rid by using Nemesis Service Suite, but thats a whole new convo.
Re the refreshed (as you say) n95, it is actually a complete new phone, better battery, bigger screen, new colour, no lense cover.

Me and a friend both got this at the same time. I didn't like it at all and sent it back, my friend kept his and is now regretting it.

ahh wondered when u were gonna think of something to say :whistling:

And to everyone slating the n95 it very much depends on whether u get a good one or a bad one it seems.....if its good ...the phone is superb...if its bad swap it and send it back till u get a good one..simple as

You've missed the point of why we [the big red network] install software on the phone. It's not to be spoilsports it usually to ensure that the phone works in a stable and reliable way.

Simply removing the software will in fact cause you more problems. Call your Nokia service centre and check that you have the latest firmware and that will improve the phone stability.

As for 'best phone on the market' that's a very subjective statement - I have one of the best phones yet to be made and it's so fantastic Nokia haven't even given it a number yet - wait until xmas.

If you got your phone from fones4u etc - then you had one of the 42% returned by the original VF rollout and customer return - :whistling:

Sicknote - slightly off topic but have always had nokias for last 10yrs but recently becoming dissapointed with the new models? Was thinking of the N95 but put off by the very poor battery life, so I was thinking of the 6110 Navigator but that was until i saw the K850i which is due to be luanched in october? You seem to 'be in the know' so what would be your recomendation? I would just like small compact phone with good camera, long battery life, sat nav would be a good addition but not essential. I'm currently lugging around the 6280. Cheers

Just about every single SE hanset out there at the minute? They may not have all the same features but unlike nokia hansets they do have the quality. Plus the SE k850i is out in a few weeks and will knock the socks off the N95!

That's funny:giggle: .
Try googling 'Sony Ericsson Problems' or any similar variation for a long long list of problems and ailments. All manufacturers are cutting costs and corners.

What is your problem mate. I'm not glued to this site and have been on others while other replies have been posted and my response was posted just two minutes after your first remark so what's with the 'wondered when u were gonna think of something to say' ****. Just stop acting like a complete ****hole and grow up. :x

All i was saying is i don't like the phone and that for the price i have voted cold. Why not just accept that and post YOUR OWN view on the phone and not talk about others sarcastically. Theres no need.

Stop running your mouth off on a forum pal...u wouldn't speak to me to my face like that i could guarantee it....and you slated the phone itself a lot more, than you did for the price in your original post..thats why i was replying with my opinion ...do you ever remember what you have said ?

Surely this should be about whether the deal's good or not for someone who wants an N95 rather then the phone's merits/demerits?

you'll learn.

every thread on here turns into a slanging match about the product itself, not the price.
