This handset is now available to Pre-Order! (Delivered 26th June)

http://c5.img.digitalriver.com/gtimages/store-mc-uri/nokia/assets/local/en-GB/large_images/5095165.jpg

''The N97 has a 3.5 inch touch screen, QWERTY keyboard, high quality camera with Carl Zeiss optics, a massive 32GB expandable memory, GPS and DVD quality video recording and editing. The N97 is the first Nokia to have a sideways slider which is integral to its design. This uncovers the full QWERTY keypad and leaves the impressive 3.5 touch screen at a 35 degree angle. Not only is this functional, it also adds to the phones elegance and finesse.

As you would expect with any Nseries, the Nokia N97 comes packed with the newest software and applications, including Nokia Maps with satellite imagery and geo-tagging. It comes adorned with a huge internal memory of 32GB which can be expanded to a massive 48GB using a 16GB memory expansion slot. This memory potential is useful for the storage of images and particularly videos or movies, which can be watched comfortably on the tilted widescreen display at a full 30 frames per second. The N97 comes with built in A-GPS which is always useful to avoid getting lost and with Wi-Fi and HSDPA support for fast internet connection the N97 becomes the perfect phone for both business and pleasure''

£510 for £425 phone including generous tariff, isn't bad, most other mobile tariff deals on the N97 have £150-£300+ premium on the Mobile Value on top of what the tariff is worth.

Heat from me.
#3
Is this for new customers only or can you switch onto this contract when your exisiting Vodafone one is up?
#4
Heat from me too! I'm not keen on the black one though.

I've been torn between the N97 white & the Iphone 3GS. I need to decide before tomorrow lol
#5
Hot from me

People on here a couple of weeks ago paying £500 just for the phone and calling it a bargain, and that deal relied heavily on quidco paying out.
Within a fortnight you can have the phone with a call / text / internet package worth around £20 - £25 per month for £45 per month or less with quidco.

You have to buy this through Mobile Express to get this deal. Just PAC your existing number across if you want to keep it. If not then just signup for it whenever you are ready :)

Yep I know thats crazy! I just ordered this, didnt want to pre-order this till all the details of the iphone 3 had been announced, but as its not really a super upgrade over the iphone 3g I have been waiting to get a good deal on the n97 the last few days. This is the best contract I have found by far, and its great for me cause its a 12 month deal, and I get bored of phones fairly quickly!
#9
good deal thanks
#10
It's a lot of money a month tho isnt it?

Im looking for a new phone, had the samsung g800 for quite a while as on a 30 day rolling contract but does everything i want.
Am thinking of getting a new phone but have no idea what to get???
Want it mainly for photos and video, dont need internet and obviously for calls and texting.
Any suggestions?
Paying 30 quid a month at mo for 1200 mins and texts and fre x network calls al weekend(s).
#11
Cracking deal that like laddy!
#12
great deal but having just experienced the nokia 5800 and selling it i will definately be going for the iphone 3gs, symbian OS just cant compare to it at all. Regardless of my preference heat definately added!

Not a bad deal, but I really hate Vodafone, I have just left them for their poor coverage. I lose signal at my house and never get any at friends!

As for this deal, not keen on the Tarriff at all. £45 a month for 600 mins?! Not cool.

The deal I have got from Dial A Phone on the N97 is as follows:

Free White Nokia N97.
18 Month Contract (Orange) £45pm - 1200 X-Network Minutes, Unlimited Texts, Unlimited Web & Free Magic Numbers. As well as Orange Wednesday 241 at Odeon & Pizza Express.
Also got £50 Cash Back from QuidCo which is tracked.

Expected Delivery Date is 30th June.

That's a good deal indeed but for me, Orange signal in my area isn't that good. 600 minutes is twice as much as I need and none of my phones last more than 12 months.

Heat added.

For a phone worth £425 though.

Compared to many £30/month deals, on inferior inclusive bundles on phones worth £50, the "premium" for the phone and tariff on most mobile contracts is extortionate compared to most deals on HUKD like this one, ie £425 mobile and uber tariff for £500paid out compared to say £100 phone for medium tariff for £400 paid out.

Proportionally this deal is far better than the latter.
#16
good deal, the 600 mins unlimited text would cost at least £20 a month if not more, so it is really a good deal.

Strangely the more I read the more I think it is actually a red hot deal, looking at most contract deals would be £30 for these mins, text, internert with a crap phone so you are really only paying £15 a month for the phone (£180 for the year), and it si only a 12 month contract, which is staggering given how new this is. to be honest if I didn't own a nokia 5800 I would almost be tempted.
#17
these phones are quite fun and no doubt a good deal compared to what else youcan get... but yeah still a LOT of money :)
#18
Looks like an amazing phone, after the string of problems I've had with the 5800 I don't know if I could convince myself to get another Nokia any time soon though.
#19
iphone is still better though IMO

Same for me. I wouldn't touch another Nokia touch screen phone with a barge pole.

Had a tint problem with my nokia 5800 and it bricked itself on update, but e2save have amazing customer service, never on hold, they even sent a courier next day with the phone and picked up mine broke one. Will definitely deal with them again, really friendly staff on the phone as well, which is great to have when you nice new shiny phone has broke!

Phone freezing up. Phone crashing. Screen going blank. Rubbish menus.

I've still got my £169 iPhone 8GB and got the 5800 because I needed a new contract and it was cheap (line rental) and the phone free.

I know it's more expensive, but iPhone is so much better than anything Nokia can produce.

I'd go for the 3GS, unless you absolutely must have a physical keypad, or a top end mobile-phone camera, in which case if you "need" that then it's questionable as to why you'd not go for an actual digital camera given the general massive gap in quality between a mobile and a dedicated camera - plus additional things like battery life in all of the latest phones being poor whenever you use non-basic features.

The apps available for the iPhone are just blow everyone else's out of the window, and imo the apps make the phone what it is (much like Windows vs Mac - Windows being much better because of the sheer volume of software available).

Plus I've had the N95 (8GB) and the N96, and tbh Nokia tend to release extremely buggy phones at first that they take ages to sort out with software updates.

Equivalent to £30 month at 18 months, hot!

Phone looks ace too, hows the applications for it?

To be honest for most companies that would be sarcasm, but just as much as I would complain at bad service I like to celebrate good and they have been good. As far as I know they are part of carphonewarehouse. Never do cashback thingies, have a bad memory so they might suck for that.

Though the comapny did ask me had I bought it in the last 30 days which I had, there service might suck if you have had it longer i.e. having to send it to the manufacturer though under uk law as the retailer they are actually contractually obliged to deal with the return themselves and not ask the consumer to go direct to the manufacturer.

its 12 months, plus really I think the phone works out cheaper than £30 a month given the tarrif is pretty generous

Strange by earlier phone with the tint didn't freeze, but today my one was playing up a bit, will see how it goes though it is a very new one as it has the news OS version on it already.

It was driving me mental so much, I ended it up flogging it on Ebay for well over £200.

Using my T-Mobile sim from the deal in my trusted iPhone.

Would love the new 32GB, but could never justify spending £800 for it over 18 months.

Ok i'm a bit unsuer about internet on phones but would surfing the net on this be the same as doing so on a pc? tx

£45 from a monthly salary of e.g. £1000 isn't much, especially when you're getting both a good phone AND lots of usage for that phone for your money. Obviously it adds up, but it's up to you whether you look at it this way or whether you decide that you want a good phone and that's worth e.g. 0.05% of your salary.

I agree with what others have been saving the next iphone will be a major upgrade with OLED screen, so it will be thinner and longer batter, so in my view worth the wait, though I still think they are very expensive. Well done on getting £200 for you nokia 5800 only paid £130 for mine, plus it is new not refurb (though it was sold as refurb) well the replacement isn't from what I can tell as it came in absolute mint condition.

The best thing the nokia does over the iphone, is multitask which is great, god knows why the iphone wasn't designed to do this. Oh and the price :)

Obviously not exactly the same but has a nice big screen and supports full html websites so essentially the same. Given the choice between surfing the net on a phone or a pc you would never choose the phone but you wont have your pc with you when you're out and about.

I've lost count of the number of times in a shop I've checked the price of something on the net via my phone before purchasing.
